  1. Hey. Concerning my 83' 1300DL, I'm curious about the costs of certain fixes it requires: - Bodywork : Two holes - one app. the size of a fist at the root, just above the water channel/scoops. The second is about 2.5 inch in diameter located just above the fuel tank cover and a bit forward. Rust in almost every surface of the car especially at the steps, i mean where the doors close. And the doors broke into two pieces at the welds because of rust. New right side wing + right side lamp assembly(main right lamp + right side turn markers) - Electric : New alternator - A/C assembly + installation - Heating - new hoses from the water pump and the return hose to the water tunnel of the engine. - Engine tuning, mostly carb problems with mixture. - Roof - The old roof vinyl has ruptured all over the saloon roof revealing the foam. I just need a cost assessment, no need for precise prices (I live in Israel so the prices will vary anyway). Thanks for your help. Best weekend. Daniel Tourchin.
  2. Hey. Thanks for the replies. Ah and by the way i hate automatics anyway, so its not a problem from my standpoint. but thanks. Best weekend. Daniel.
  3. Hey folks. As a new Subaru owner, currently I own a 83 1300DL Sadan, Im thinking of buying another Suby, most likelly a Legacy. I have some questions troubling me, I really apriciate your answers... - Are there any problems in particular to look for in a 90'-92' model Legacy, like transmition, engine, AC? - Im curious about changes between Legacy model 92' to model 90'? Are they significan enough to be worth almost 1.5 more than a 90'? - The models I have in mind have the standart(At least this is the case in Israel), 1600cc engine. Is there a reason to spend money on different Legacy with 1800cc engine? Or alternativly, after perchusing the 1.6 cars, to swap the engine for the 1.8 or 2.2? - I heard that the Legacy features bad gas millage and the engines tend to burn oil. Is there any truth in these stories? Again thanks for this Sites admins and members for having such a great site. Best regards, Daniel Tourchin.
  4. Hey folks. Im thinking about buying another Subaru. Im contemplating between another Leone/Loyale and a Legacy, while the prices are mostlly the same. Does somebody ahve some specs about the Legacy? Mainly weight and engine specs. Thanks. Daniel.
  5. Hey felas Thanks for your help. After a lot of tries, I’ve decided to make a last effort before tanking it to the pros. called one of my friend’s who’s a semi-self taught-backyard mechanic, and after completely disconnecting the ignition system then reconnecting everything. Then I cleaned the disty. And although I had my dough’s that it won’t help, it started great on the first try, no vibrations and the engine sounds wonderful. Ill upload some pics and records later this week. Again thanks folks, and of course thanks for this site admins for making this great portal. Best regards. Great upcoming week to ya all. Daniel Tourchin.
  6. Noah, Ive tried the schematic. although it looks right the engine dont fires. so i tried couple of variations and at one of them the engine runs, although it sound a bit rough, the whole car vibrates and the engine looks like hes tilting to the right side, i soppose that one of the cylinders isnt firing. Although its logical, cause i tried to clean the corrosion on the disty leads, maybe i broke a chunk from one of the electrodes and thats why it isnt firing on the right config. Ill continue to try to fix it, although it seems that ill need a new disty cap, it was on my list of buys, but now ill have an excuse to get a new one. Thanks mates. At least it fires now, hehe. Shalom. Cheers, Daniel Tourchin.
  7. Hey Noah, Shalom ve Toda Raba. Thanks a lot felas. The 65 is identicle to the EA71/81 just a scaled version of them, so it should work. [Phizinza] - Great looking Brat. Thanks again. Cheers. Daniel Tourchin.
  8. Can some one tell me what is the wiring order of the wires from the dist. to the spark plugs? I want to check if I connceted them correct. Thanks. Daniel.
  9. Hello. I have a Subaru Leone 1300DL 83'. Engine is EA65, single bore carb. Original Distributor, NGK Plugs, Temporary Replacment Snnapp 50Ah Battary (Originally a 55A Snnapp battary). Ive recentlly took on cleaning the car and servicing its electrical system. so ive cleaned all of the electrical contact including the dist. cap. In addition ive returned the battary to its manufacturer for service and got the less powerful replacment. When I try to start the engine it turns then gives a loud poping sound and thats about it. I assume that ive managed to mix the firing order. The order should be the same as in EA63, EA71 and EA81 engines. Can someone help me? Great weekend. best regards. Daniel Tourchin
