The quick story...Driving home on Hwy 101 off of I5 in the Olympia, WA area last night, a dog was running across the highway. Needless to say the poor thing connected with my driver's side driving light (lower bumper light). I am sure it died instantly since we were going 60 mph. (sad face on subject is for the dog....not the light). There was no other damage, but the glass and plastic "rock guard" are destroyed. I am now looking for options on replacing the light. Anyone price one from the dealer? Ever pick one up from a pull-a-part yard? Or should I replace both lights with something completely different?

I have a set of snow tires on steel wheels that I put on in the winter. We don't get much snow usually, but black ice is pretty common. The tree farm we usually go to gets pretty muddy and I love taking my OBW down into the worse areas. Luckily only pickups and SUVs go in those areas, so there tends to be more trees to choose from. Snow and mud can be so much fun!

I have an exhaust leak that the header systems I have seen should take care of. I have only seen these listed for the '98 Legacy GT 2.5L. I am wondering if there are any differences between my OBW and the GT of the same year, same engine that would cause issues with the Borla header being a direct bolt on.

I bought a 98 OBW a year ago, and have been really happy with it. Mine has the 2.5L which I think was standard. It has the 5spd. I just had the 90K mile service done, and it came out with a clean report. 3K seems low to me, but without milage and all that other info, it is hard to say if that is a good price for that car.

Just had my '98 OBW through the 90K service, and it came back with a clean bill of health. I could have done a lot of it myself, but I have other things I would rather spend my time on. The only thing noted for future concern is there appears to be some type of exhaust leak. I hear it all the time, but I attributed it to the piston slap mentioned so often. The sound can be heard any time while accelerating (warm or cold), and after really listening, it did remind me of the sound I got off my old '75 Ford F250 I used to own (now that had an exhaust leak!). Dealer recommends aftermarket to replace it when I want to since they said it would be over $1000 for a factory replacement. So, the question is, what system is recommended to provide a little better breathing for my OBW, and where to get such a system. I am on the West Coast (Washington State).

Brian, Did you get my check? I noticed it has yet to clear the bank, and am wondering if it ever made it to you. -
Well, my 98 OBW has on a couple of occassions suffered from a very high idle first thing in the morning. Now, this is not just the cold engine higher idle till warm, this is more like 1500 to 2000 rpm. The first couple of times it happened, it went away after a short time (a minute or so, or after a firm press on the gas pedal). I thought at that time that it was just warming up, but this last week, it did this for approx 10 minutes. I had to drive off and get my son to school, and get myself to work. While in gear and driving, things seemed normal. As soon as I pushed the clutch in, the engine went right back up. In fact, on a level surface, the idle was high enough to keep me going 25mph without applying gas. It finally settled down, but it has me worried. Anyone experience this before? Any ideas? Like I said, it is a 98 OBW. Has the 2.5 and 5spd.
