  1. Haven't had contact in a few years I think. He'd be 85 now. Great guy, can't say that enough. He lives frugally when teaching taking advantage of free or reduced rate boarding. Eating cheap even utilizing canned veggies from their garden. Gas wasn't bad back then. I'm sure he did his math. He was on my mind recently. Might be time to investigate. Quick math: teaching at FL could be 1800 miles plus one way so that's 3600 plus a week. Hence the oil change as soon as he parked it. 3600 times 40 would be 144,000 miles , and they drove on vacations too. There's 12 weeks of time off there. So the other universities were like Michigan , texas , etc. But FL for a long stretch. Too tired but glad you searched - Thanks !! Great memories. I truly hope I get to talk with him again. Cheers !
  2. Anyone make a recent purchase of the front seal , side output seals , or top shifter seal? I have a few shifter seals but they are from 1979 or so. Thanks for any help.
  3. Gotta be some kind of award we can give you for this, maybe a clock and calender. Lots of time into this puppy. I sure hope you get your thrills from it. Enjoy , and don't take my post the wrong way. Waiting on the video of the donuts you're going to be doing. Oh , and screw those ads for the Scion/Subaru/Toyota with the rump roast end swinging into oncoming traffic around a mountain bend. We want to see your ride in that add.
  4. Factory - not the underwear people's manual. Show your wheel !
  5. Only the one that fits. Buy one of my factory service manuals and the carb adjustments are in there. $20 total - shipped media mail.
  6. Stop your crying and get to work !! :-p:headbang: Waaaggggghhhh , I've got rust ...... That car doesn't desreve my incredibly beautiful rear seat. Make it so Number 1 , make it so. Talk to you soon. I'm really going to get those seats out , but its too hot today and back to work tomorrow night. I'll get working on them this week.
  7. :-p Now I know it's time I turned them over.
  8. Wow , that funky bulb is common ??? I've also got a couple cyclopses that I'm overdue to unload.
  9. I'll check what I can in the parts manual over the next few days. Did this one once have A/C ?
  10. Somekind of option like a plow or winch maybe was once installed? Looks too light gauge of wire for a plow , but I could be wrong. My winch wiring is that gauge , I'm pretty sure. A/C eliminated ? What's the build month and if you don't mind the VIN # too. If you're not comfy with that you can X out the last three digits.
  11. Looking to spread the word one last time. If you know anybody with a Gen one brat or 1972-79 Subaru please alert them if you think they may have missed the order. Thanks again. We are pretty close to our goal. If I can't round out the list here you'll see me selling the last ones off on eBay for around $65 or more. Get in now and save. Cheers!!
  12. Yeah , lots of us older folks here have the appropriate drills , easy outs , and heli-coils or my favorite Time-serts ready for action. Good luck on those. You'll b ok. I hope your windshield goes in well. Down to two gaskets left from original order and they are spoken for.
  13. yeah I think I need glasses - sorry Mr. Brat , but not so sorry to Mick. Lol Have a great time !!!
  14. I'd like to help , as I know I have a freshly removed '79 4WD wagon main harness and related whips and tails. But from this view it seems something ain't right. Picture could really help. And of course you're going to see Todd so there's a wealth of info and parts for you. Good luck!
  15. Gee Mick , I think its a lot shorter distance to the Carlisle gig in PA for you. All these years ...... :-p
  16. My 78 4wd wagon is 155/80 R13 I thought Brats were the same or 165's
