Hang on , please. Let's all get a good idea of what happens here. I need to plunk down $1700 to get this going. Or maybe half up front before mfg. , 2nd half before they release to me after they recieve them from Thailand. So I'm going to ask that you guys please consider rounding up a few bucks for Paypal and general shipping expenses. Also , consider that I have not heard their shipping quote to me yet , but as mentioned I don't expect it to drive up cost more than a buck or two per unit. Let's face it , you are still getting an icredible deal and only because we are united. Don't snivvel over a couple bucks. I'll get back with more later.

79 Subaru brat window exchange
moosens replied to newmexicobrat's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
John , all first generation Brats have the same side windows. The 2 door car glass is different but you could use the door if you needed one. -
OK , I have to finalize but we have an offer standing for 50 pieces. Cost is right around $35 each but I have to discuss shipping. Last time it was 4 large boxes. Can't recall how much. Won't add but a buck or two to each piece. I've got to use my credit card to put the deposit down so please pay as soon as you can. Thanks.

I've probably got another I could sell. Somewhere along the lines the GL became the lux package but way back when the DL was the ruler of the roost.

Another mighty fine showing. Be sure to check back at their website for updated pics. Slight sample: These shots were taken fairly early as cars and bikes were still arriving even after I left around 10:15AM Too many pretentious yuppie scum around to thoroughly enjoy the moment for too long. "Oh , you own a Ferrari too , was that you I saw with the top down ..... blah blah blah" They all just want to prance and pose for each other. So pathetic for folks with so much. I said a big UP YOURS by having my beater '78 4WD wagon there in its rough state of being. Got a huge vote of approval from a guy with young kids who thought my car was the most realistic and his absolute favorite !!!!

Fenders have a spongy foam strip they put in there to ??deaden sound?? or just plain suck up water and rust our that area of the fenders. So if you use those fenders you'll see when you take them off - get that foam strip the heck out of there. Other spots on your car don't seem to bad to us folks with real rust. We sure do enjoy the hell out of ours. Cheers!

Well , I'll try but I doubt there'll be too many Subarus there. Yeeeeoooooww!!! http://www.caffeineandcarburetors.com/?page_id=559 Yeah , I'm a burger flipper compared to these cats so its like HIDE my Subaru in a lot Too much money arond here.

OK , the contact has been made. They got back to me today. Our old sales rep. has moved up or onward within the parent company so we've got a new guy. He'll be getting back to me soon with an answer as to if they will be able to order them and the minimum quantity , which we've got covered for sure. Let's all say our little prayers. Hope they still have the mold. Amen !

Yeah , but with time and gas prices I'm thinking I need to combine my run with a Carlisle or fishing trip with my son. This coming weekend is out for me. -
Boz !!! Hope you had a good one. Cheers! We'll be heading down your way soon. Might be a Barrens run for fun and fishing , might be teamed up with a yard run , might be teamed up with Carlisle ....but we'll be down there within the next month or so. c ya

anti freeze leak from a bolt on the head
moosens replied to old sub freak's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Only thing I'd like to say now is that a crush ring properly installed goes with the flat side toward the engine. So I hope it actually crushes into shape as needed , but I tend to doubt that's going to work. Has to be something else going on there. Slight crack? Too badly worn plug seat - for what reason who knows?? -
Wish I could,Mark. I'll certainly keep that in mind. Meanwhile I'm eyeing up a few locals to possibly approach about this venture. The shift is definitely on here - at least among the working class - where the big lux-de-lux vehicle is out and the beater , commmuter , Asian car is IN. What I'd really like to see is a company dedicated to manufacturing "patch and paste over" sections to keep cars passing inspections in those nasty states like PA ,etc. where they'll pull your car from the road with a rust bubble. Combine those with common replacement parts in stock and I feel you'll draw a good sized customer base rather quickly. A little shop - maybe one or two bays for repairs. Something folks can walk into and feel they're understood and appreciated for what they have. Gotta fly! Ciao!

Mark , Good luck !! Been thinking about a similar shop here on this coast. Our cars are rising in popularity !!!! Gas prices will do that !!! Good time to open a shop like yours.

anti freeze leak from a bolt on the head
moosens replied to old sub freak's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Shoot your dealers parts guy for not having crush ring washers. He's an idiot. And I don't recall a crush ring on those head drain plugs. Lots of people totally ignore that plug when doing intake work so they end up with coolant all over the engine. Weren't the older ones Allen heads , not hex head? I never noticed any concave recess , no countersink , etc. But never had any leak there either. -
Pretty sure they did not have those last time but I sure will ask about any others they may have or be willing to reproduce. I guess I need to phone in. Got no reply from the "contact us" box on their site. I mentioned our old contact and previous order so you'd think whoever saw it would get that sales rep. Or make some contact. Calling later today to shake the tree. Thanks everybody !!

Places like Cali and urban North East , and such , yards are Mob controlled or influenced and most unfriendly to the guys like US. Or so insurance terrorized they're paranoid.
