  1. Yeah I have issues too , probably why I'm considering going .... :-p Well , we did do a few "Meets" at boneyards in the past , and Harry's and the Rt.61 scene are plenty cool to me. Ususally worth the drive , even if you don't get much its always a social event not to be missed. :-p How about we keep this thread going and if you guys want we'll start a fresh one for a boneyard day. Gotta be a Saturday to maximize effort. Harry's acts as the base. Would be great to get reports on New Ringgold and the other Rt. 61 joints. Faust in Allentown still had old Subarus but there was lots going on there with construction of a highway thru their property ....gosh , plenty of years ago now. :-\
  2. We should meet at Harry's in Hazelton and stop at Carlisle to pee and wash the cars.
  3. OK the gas pump thing probably has more posts than the initial subject. What was the subject again???????? NJ - pay less than CT or NY and not have to get out of the car.
  4. That's cool, thanks, Matt! Call it a WTF year. No real push but maybe if I/we post elsewhere we might even get the 25. I'll see if the Brit car guys will sign up as six stars.
  5. Jon, vent is the plastic cylindrical doo dad on top of the diff. "Stake" means drive a chisel point into the metal to create a "tab" to retain the seal.
  6. Careful removing the bolts. Light torque on those bolts - don't overcrank them putting them back in. Re-seal kits are around. Better to ask a good parts store.
  7. The guy who just replied ....and Andrew ...and Charlie ....and I think Pete mentioned it back last year. Three or more = few. Me , I'm going for the free car wash and of course the thrill of hanging out with Jesse's '74. Andrew wants to get the '73 wagon there. Charlie - multiple choice , well most of us have that option. :-p But not quite like Charlie does. My '78 is running pretty good now. ?????'s : Dave, Melissa ,Jon ,Keith ,Threaded Rod , Eric Lucas , NJ guys , there's still potential.
  8. One guy drinking "vodika" another buying free cars .... and I'm way too sober here. Jesse , I believe there is a bushing kit for those throttle shafts. Anybody?
  9. Spoke to a few guys who are serious this year. Bump for the thrill of it all. :-p
  10. 80's ptuey! Take it easy kids. No offense means - no offense. Just having fun. 80's Cars just aren't so historic to me.
  11. No offense but get this crap out of the Historic Forum !!!
  12. That's why I begged Charlie to keep every 5 speed he had. I still think there's at least one early 5spd. there in his stash.
  13. Yeah , gas is going to suck. We're getting completely hammered here in CT right now. Tax after Tax after ripoff ..... Only the regular gas is below $4.00 and that's if you pump it yourself. My wife is one of those people who refuses to fill the tanks herself......
  14. 1982gl4 Subafreak moosens subeman90 not a bad start for Feb*ROO*ary. Happy Leap Day everybody ! Andrew and Charlie are both interested - that's 6. Eric L. with the blue Brat is usually also into it , would make 7 ...... And of course if it gets close I'd toss in a few more bucks and register a couple of ghost cars. New people - you can register and bring up to 3 cars.
  15. Yeah , I think its going to be a real throwback to the pre-"Group" days. Somehow I feel the urge to approach it as a challenge to get that old 25 magic number but , we all know better by now .......right?
  16. Good year to shop!! Well , money is tight but where else can you look over so many interesting cars for sale. And you know there'll be lots of for sale signs.
  17. Thanks, Rob. I could swear it went thru. Good to hear there'll be somebody there. I think we can forget about getting a group tent, but a couple of us have canopies.
  18. New folks - this is both a Fun -NON judging event and a Showcase Judged Field for the creampuffs. Show up in anything and park among like minded people , or at least folks with the same make of car , and just have fun. Carlisle PA - third weekend in May every year. Right on the Carlisle Fairgrounds where they also hold such National events as listed on their site - Chevy , Ford , Corvette , Mopar , Harley ....that stuff. Camping on site or plenty of cheap enough places to stay. Swap meet , food , and MOTORCYCLES TOO !!!!! That started a few years back and has been growing - YES !!!! Some really interesting European cars from all over. Growing number of Asian cars now too! Throwing out random info here - There is a place to wash your car FREE!! An Autocross up on the little track on the hill. Wanna race for dinner?? Huge area of Vendors and "Swap meet" with all sorts of tool suppliers , literature , paraphenalia - did I spell that right? , and food. Also a KIT and REPLI-CAR show - some absolutely incredible stuff there !!! And they do a 24 hour build every year - last time I was there it was a little Porsche 356 replica. Civic Center across the street often has an event worth attending or shoving the wife off to. We were in a good run of getting a solid group together up untill a couple of years ago or so. No big deal , we make it if we can and understand if we can't. But we do tend to bring food and set up a tent ,etc. and try to at least enjoy a meal together or more. Saturday is THE BIG DAY. Showing up Friday night helps but is NOT necessary. But also , don't bother showing up too late on Saturday. Do try to be there early and stay at least thru lunch. I hear that beer is good! That's what they tell me. Any questions please ask. Cheers !
