Any idea what they fit?
moosens replied to Subafreak's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Looking more loyal right now. -
There's a guy in TN who might be sitting on new windshields he hasn't gotten to yet. "drivesubies" is Danny W. Great guy to deal with. If you need one and he's not ready I'll help u out but shipping will be a lot.

Very early alternator. Can you please let me know if that very first pic is a Sanden A/C compressor? I see the York thing going on but to me that's the shape of a Sanden and the York was the little cube like deal. I need a Sanden 507. Might scoot up that way today. I keep saying that but you know how it goes with the kids. Tournament championship basketball game today!!!! JV Girls basketball , yeehaaa !!!! -
I've got a windshield for you when you're ready.

I can't let mine go any cheaper plus you'd be covering shipping. Keep in mind we had these freshly made just like 3 years ago or so. We were told they were from Thailand and that the mfg. Was not keeping the mold after that last batch. Ask the installer when that gasket was produced. Mine would only be a few bucks more with shipping but you'd know it's fresh. Have one sitting here somebody neglected to follow thru on. Could be one of the last ones. -
 Thanks!

Documented: The 1970 FF-1 Project car...
moosens replied to Kostamojen's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
At this point I'd say use anything that works since you're making new holes anyways. ctsuba is his board name but because he barely posts I don't think he has PM and doesn't even show up as a member when you search. If you really want to go stock I'll be talking to him later and let him know your situation. He has an ff-1 sitting on his property and an unbelievable amount of rusting panels and ff-1 parts in general - most of which are fairly well protected from sunlight and weather , excepting the sheetmetal left outside. His problem is that he really doesn't have the time , or the desire to take the time , for sifting thru all his stuff for some tiny items that the user (not saying you , but history shows us as mostly cheap bastids) doesn't want to offer dirt for. That's his take and I agree for the most part. People don't seem to realize that somebody went thru a lot of trouble and outright expense to save parts for restorations ,etc. OK , said my piece and Charlie's (ctsuba) too. That said , I'll let Charlie know. -

I'll be looking for one just like yours about 15 years from now. Keep me in mind , ok ? Welcome , and oh yeah I love that little white WRX If you get a Gen I Brat be sure to check several spots no matter where it comes from and how rustfree it looks from the outside. Check some of the Gen I resto or refurbish type posts in the Historic Forum to get what I mean. Under cowl and wheel aprons toughest spots. Don't let a little rust of the fender tops bother you , they all had that problem. Glass fenders real cheap just came out of some guys shop - check post if interested. Good luck. Gen I's are cooler. -

CLUTCH pedal just came off?! '87 GL
moosens replied to Moosen's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Gotta run that adjuster nut well onto the threaded end of that cable so it even looks like you're going too tight. You want to see lots of thread showing when it's new. As the clutch wears you can back it off some as needed. -

On pedal side about an inch and a half before the clutch disengages. On the engine end start with about an eigth inch "strong" of play with no helper spring. Can't recall if yours has a helper like the 70's but you should be ok. I got freaked out on mine too and started calling other old schoolers but I wasn't very far off , just impatient I guess. -

Can't get them to you in time but I've got some in storage. For now you might get lucky with Danny - "drivesubies" - or "dannybreadman" on eBay. Check his eBay store quick , then contact him thru here or eBay if need be. You might get lucky elsewhere. Not much of a bend to them so maybe a straight generic run will do .....maybe with an elbow at the end. That could be a 90 deg. fitting with just an inch or so extention of hose to the unit. -

Any anti-corrosive coating you can put on that heater core (not the fins) will keep that from the next guy's list 20 years from now. Even just from normal exposure those spigots tend to get really crappy and eventually freeze up. Go man! And don't forget the T fitting inline for flushing the system. -
Stage one or stage two? FWD or 4WD?

Yay
