  1. Great, make it as difficult as possible. Mother's Day? I wuv my mom ... and my kids wuv thier mom. And we all wuv each other ..... Just saying it'd be probaby the most difficult day to get a breakaway window of time sufficient for partying mode. If you guys really need that date I'll probably have to swing up late like around 7PM or so. :-\
  2. Glad to hear. Did you get that little cube that fits on your ratchet extention? Those are cheap and work fine for me.
  3. You're right , I thought about that after I posted. Pop out rear windows. Several of us have that trunk lid if you need a fresh one. I've also got a lot of really good used parts that would help.
  4. Replied to you. Yes , just like the old lady car I had with 56k miles. Except you guys have those beautiful bumpers and dual headlights that we didn't get here. :-\ Nice snag!!
  5. Its a 1974 Coupe - or was. That rear spoiler thing is custom made from a late 80's/early 90's RS or RX tail piece. Pretty cool in thought , probably would have been fun to fart around in back in the early 80's (before he found the rear "wing") if he completed it. If you need parts for it I'm your man. If it has a working AM/FM or better - with cassette - that's a pain to find. Judging from that instrument mounted on the dash the radio is probably long gone. Have fun!
  6. SOB MF !! Good luck , again.... :-\ Well , glad its here.
  7. They're out there .... just have to hunt around. Ball joints are plentiful. Tie rod ends - fairly plentiful. Those rear shocks - less plentiful :-\ ... but you'll score soon. I've got a set that I bought from eBay about a decade ago that I'm hoping aren't bad from sitting for 20+ years. Please post any results on shocks. Thanks and good luck.
  8. At first you might think you can't find much for parts but trust me you can find plenty to keep this car moving along. There are complete gasket/seal kits still on eBay ,etc.. Is that what you mean by "parts shock" ? I have some gasket sets but none for sale right now. There's still plenty of good used parts out there and even some New Old Stock from a few people. I've got some , "drivesubies" has tons but hasn't gotten his stock quite organized just yet but he's working on it and can probably supply plenty in the meantime. At least you're in a '79 so that makes it a bit easier to maintain being e'tron ignition. Are you going to need a mechanic for most services? Anything you feel comfortable doing on your own?
  9. Really ??? Would have never guessed that .... Hey , maybe Connie needs her garden tilled !! Couple of deep ruts at a time !! Let the food thread begin !
  10. We'll go back to Carlisle when they have a redneck section. If you're a VW guy its still a great show. Kit cars your thing? There you go .... But for us to hang out with Volvos and Saabs that really aren't vintage or interesting at all ....phooey! To those who've never gone to Carlisle - it's pretty cool the first time , maybe even once ever other year or so. But once you've seen the old guy and his old Volvo with (???) million miles on it and the few old Italian cars ,etc. it's over. There's nowhere near the number of truely cool Euro-cars there that there used to be. And the field has filled in with too many late model cars that really suck. Cheers!
  11. Pack up the tools and grub. screw Carlisle ! We'll have LB rockin.
  12. Well that helps. Andrew was talking of a big move westward .... welcome back , Andrew! Guess I won't be driving the '73 this year. ctsuba ??!! Classic carvan ?
  13. Thanks. I see from a post here that he got his glass from me.
  14. Gotta guess you're right - probably one lifter - usually the last one in the line getting too little oil pressure. Oil pressure should be fine but you never know unless you check it. I know I go nuts taking my time and making sure the "mickey mouse" seal and all go in properly. But that doesn't mean something didn't go wrong or just plain wear from a weak seal. If I had the parking I'd buy it back from you and EJ it. Its just one more reason why that car was sold before I'd give up my 2.2 Legacy or my vintage wondercar. Those EA82T's just ain't my first choice , that's for sure. But when I went and purchsed close to $1000 worth of engine and tranny - going JDM - I thought I'd beaten those issues for at least a good length of time. Keep me posted.
  15. gadd dang , what's up with this car? :-\ Every time I turn around you've got one more issue popping up. Sorry its become a nuisance. You've got me voting for EJ.
  16. Somebody will find that info. Its in the factory service manuals for sure. 1976 is a weird year but otherwise they're all about the same. I'll post back if nobody else gets the info.
  17. Got a tach. in there? Fancy clock? This is what a '76 GF hardtop has.
  18. Air's to ya !! We do have the Carlisle Import Kit/Replicar Show third weekend in May every year. We peaked at about 30 vehicles one year but we've tapered off since. I'm there about every other year give or take. Good chance I'll be there this year. It's a huge event for Imported classics and imports in general. You can enter a judged field if you want to or just hang in the non judged general mass - which we all do. For off roading there's a few little spots here and there. Hoping one of you guys up there turns us on to a spot where you don't get shot at or police show up ,etc ... We do hit the Pine Barrens of south Jersey. No real lift required , mosrlt sandy trails and some water crossings , you can go in a standard issue 4wd or even FWD if you stay out of the really soft stuff. Far eastern CT and western RI there's a spot where nobody seems to get bothered. I haven't gotten there yet but one of us here has. Looks like lift required - more true dirt and rocks. South Jersey is flat , this area isn't. Gonna be a horror story of Mud Season up there this year , or at least down here it will be. There's also a huge Mud Meet in Maine - can't recall the name but its fairly generic like MudFest ... something like that. Have fun! Hope to run into you some day. We're trying to plan a day/weekend trip to our friend's place in Grafton VT. Stocked trout pond on their property with a monster that was released a couple of times now. Hoping to hook that sucker , or my son or daughter hook it better yet. Could see us in May , who knows..... Cheers!
  19. Well I understand your points , but that's a good chunk of hobby money. You can thank Grampa for that too. My point is that's one heck of an offer for something with rust. Good luck.
  20. My email is moosens at yahoo - Hope to talk to you sometime. Who do you pick for this year in MotoGP and Superbikes? I don't think Rossi can do it this year. Looks like the Hondas have something going on. Biaggi - repeat ? Now Checa looks strong. Ciao !
