Lots of choices. This time of the year they clip you for entrance fees. Bridgeport has the finest beach - but the Gathering of the Vibes Concert is this weekend at Seaside Park.. Super fine white sand unlike the rest of the coastline - (Sherwood Is. is rOcKy!! ) IF you do choose Seaside Park in Bridgeport you'll be able to stay clear of the concert itself but you might find a few concert goers over at the far west end because they're setting up a camping are there. Otherwise take exit 26 Wordin Ave. Go striaght along the highway and oil tanks, come to Iranistan Ave. and take a Right , just a few feet to a Right at the light onto South Ave. , go to the end - pass Sikorsky Aircraft , where I work , road takes a left around our facility and at the stop sign it'll be obvious - but you go RIGHT toward the best beach area which will NOT be closed off like the rest of the park. I took my kids there yesterday and we had a BLAST. Concert begins Thursday and it should still be fairly quiet. They don't start fillnig the joint untill Thursday night/Friday. Luckily there's no particular big draw act on Thursday afternoon. Gotta move along , talk to you soon...

sourcing parts for a dual carb EA-81 *updated*

So what would you pay if it didn't land on your lap? I've got a d/c set-up here. -
WCBS 880AM radio as you come thru Jersey. Traffic every ten minutes on the "8 's" That time of the day you're ok going over the GWB - assuming you're talking about 1-2 in the afternoon. After 3PM if you're not near the GWB then hit 287. I-80 heading east shouldn't be an issue that time of day. Coming up I-95 you never know but again if you make up towards the GWB before 3 you're doing ok. You want to listen for any delays on the Cross Bronx Expressway too. Usually that means GWB traffic too. Avoid all that using 287 if needed. I'd do a stop over at Sherwood Is. if you want to avoid sitting in traffic around 3:30PM to 6:30PM. No concessions there so grab food elsewhere. Life is a bit expensive in those towns but along Rt.1 you'll find decent food for under $15/adult. Maine - I'll check back with you later ...

Southern New England Meet/Wheel ?

Wassamatta U ? I want dirt in my crevices !!!! -
Me, I'm itchin' to hit Voluntown CT for the trails. Would be needing to firm up a good 4wheeler or shoestring one of what I have. But the longer we take to get together the more chance I have of having something that won't breakdown on the trails. A few new folks here from CT over the last couple of years or so. Couple from RI and MA too. Voluntown is on the CT/RI border. It's a huge parcel of land and at least one of us here know some comfy ways in and around. This parcel also backs up to protected land on the RI side too - which has decent trout fishing where you'll usually find me in early April. Bad dates for me would be Aug. 7 and 14. Need a good gathering point. Holmgren Subaru? Maybe I can talk one of our USMB guys into allowing a meet up for folks coming from the west.

Those pieces show up every once in awhile. I might be able to dig one out. Meanwhile I'd check with ctsuba Charlie in Salem , Rt.85.

Added another subaru to the stable
moosens replied to KNOPPER's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Yeeee haaaa !!! Nice score for that price. I'm guessing the owner wanted to tap the starter gear back. I know my '78 sticks and makes it look like I'm a rookie driver grinding the starter. Rather than change mine I just deal with it. Never know when it'll happen but usually I can either just crank it another time or two or rock the car back a little after making sure its in neutral. Yes, I 'm pretty sure I can hook you up with one of those windshield gaskets. How about you go over the car good and get back to me thru PM. I've got lots of stuff still and I'd be willing to give a sweet deal on anything I have since I really need to reduce *stuff* -

Quick question on the brake upgrade?
moosens replied to Subafreak's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
there's lots of them from the 70's and early 80's and even my Loyales .... I think he's trying to keep the spiffy , period correct (somewhat) 13" wheels ... Jesse ? -

OK sounds good. Your stuff I can get out fairly quickly ... I hope. Probably allow a couple hours for helping me / helping you. Not sure how much hanging around picking thru boxes of used stuff you want to do. But if its mostly about loading up the engine and locating a few items that should go quick. If you're really willing to spend some time helping sort stuff I'd love to take a night off and work late night night ... which would screw you up royally for your job. Cold beers thru the night , breakfast at sunrise and you're on your way home. Just a thought. -

Had my eye on this one too. Did you get it for $1200 or less? Keep me in mind if the tickle doesn't last too long. -
Nice project and nice history for a Belgian Subaru Dealer. Good luck with it. You're far ahead of what most people would come up with for advancing performance from an EA81. Is this going to remain N/A or are you going to pump the gas into it - Turbo ? Don't sweat the English. They pardoned me for being bad and speaking English so you're all set. Cheers! There are dual carburetor setups out there. - just a thought before exiting ...enjoy!

Nice find ! Those little bikes are great. So yours has those same scrambler pipes? "Clubman" bars would do it nice without the pain of clip-ons.

Sure, call as you need to. You know the deal ....
