moosens replied to moosens's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Great to see you all again and also to meet the new folks. Stopped and saw Tom at All We'll Drive on our way out this AM. You guys need to hear about the lizard. Check the Off Topic Forum soon for a good story.....really funny and involves a Subaru. Hey so what happened? Who pissed off who??? Glad I made a clean getaway. I'm wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy tired and I'm supposed to go to work in a couple of hours after our 900+ mile trip. :-\ So I'll add more tomorrow. -

Gonna claybar my butt ..... Hey thanks Neo. We're leaving here around 3PM and hope to at the crystal blue pond there around 6 - 7 and get in on the evening action. Not a lot of 4wheeling but if we have someone join up with we might. I want to be in Carlsile late Friday night and sleep good. So we're going to leave the Barrens just after dark. Brat does not want to cooperate. :-\ Looking like the FWD wagon. -

Keep your hopes up. Looks like rain Thursday then moving out. It says 79 degrees for Saturday so it'll be sticky. http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=Carlisle%20PA&wuSelect=WEATHER -

Neo I mostly need to get to the pond where Luc caught all those frogs. I should be able to get in and out of there with FWD right? I'm not going up the hill and all that or even probably can walk in a little....but the entrance is fairly packed - isn't it? Can you send me a location of that spot? Where the boat is . CrUnCH!! That was FUN. Muddy - show up Muddy !!!! Even my FWD will be dirty. Outside chance I might take the '79 Brat. I just got a Temp. plate for it. Not a problem to get full plate if I can get it to run well enough to limp to the DMV. Right now I'm wacked out tired - overtired - third wind - is it a full moon? - but I'm pretty sure I'll have it running well tomorrow. If so , it'll be Vintage Mud we bring. yabba dabba Roooo ! -

Hey all ... anyone wanting to meet up at the Barrens Friday evening can PM me. Exchange numbers and all that. We sure can use a support vehicle at the Barrens because it looks like we're going in the FWD 2.2 :-\ Trying to get my Brat ready but ...... -

Ain't never seen so few people make so much babble ..... But anyhow,I'll be there to annoy you all for at least a few hours on Saturday. Not too concerned about food this year but I'll try to bring something cool to share. Sorry for disappearing for a couple of weeks - it was a BLAST !!! Our computer should be back later tonight or tomorrow - or real soon. Then you'll have to deal with me daily again. Looking like a Friday 3PM departure from here (Connecticut shoreline) going to the Pine Barrens area. Romp around , maybe collect some frogs or something with my son , then gravitate towards Carlisle by the evening. You guys probably won't see us Friday night but we'll be there already come the morning. Waffle House would be cool but not necessary. Shake hands , say hi ,take some pictures and then we'll be heading home around noon - 1PM - sorry :-\ See you soon! -

Another tough year , eh? Never made it to the dealer. No flyers .... Club Registration must be getting near closing. Trying for my '79 brat to be on the road and making the trip with my son , so far. Subject to change. -
Close as in about an hours drive. Connie understands - I have 2 kids and lots going on. She has help and don't forget she's rebuilt dirt bike engines and whatnot so she'll be fine. Luckily for her she has a fairy that magically appears to help her. Neo also understands You guys are doing a great job - more than I can do. Believe me I do want to go stick my nose in err uhhh I mean help out...

Documented: The 1970 FF-1 Project car...
moosens replied to Kostamojen's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Found some NOS ff-1 stuff yesterday. I know you've bought some items already but I have new corner light lenses and at least one new rear turn signal/brake light comp. assy.. A few other little items that I didn't take note of too. You still want that grill , right? As the weather lightens upon us I'll be getting stuff out to people. So far you're the only one with a sedan ff-1 (that has contact) so I'll set aside whatever I can for you. Don't forget that we have 2 ff-1 wagons here and a third 1973 wagon also so I can't let all the goodies go. Looking good. I like that black and white pic ... j/k -
FYI the SOA auto trannies were first mated to the 1400. The 1st tranny was disasterous. They quickly changed to another Mfg. and then had a more reliable base to create the 2nd and yet a 3rd automatic tranny for Subaru in 1974-5 model years. Once had that 32k 1976 DL Automatic that now sits retored in Sweden. It was so old lady fresh it put you a little more into your seat when you punched the pedal and also had no problem doing 65+++ mph. I'm actually looking for a good vintage automatic worth restoring or a drivetrain etc. to transplant into my '74.

Look at what i found....
moosens replied to KNOPPER's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
What's all this mean to a guy who just wants to use it? I don't think the seller is selling it as pristine and/or restored. What's the price?? Also, you forgot to notate the obviously custom exhaust and rust on the wheels. It's not a resto or an aging original but its FUN. Congrat on the find. -
yuk yuk yuk ..... I know your breakin stones and I can appreciate that but for sure we'll get out there before then. Don't count on me making on of those "WC" events but hey you get me as I can make it.... Infact I might just sneak out there to meet a select few , grab a keeper , and drive back thru E.Wa , ID , MT and then everything else eastward doesn't matter right? Oh, maybe hit OR just a bit while I'm out there.

Sounds great ! Hope you can make Carlisle PA for the Import Kit/Replicar Show with our small but enthusiastic group of vintage Subaru owners. May 15-17 If you can sign up under the Ultimate Subaru name in the draw down menu when you register it'll help us get a free tent http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/events/import/ Probably about the same distance for you as it is for us up here. You can pretty much count on my taking a trip down I-81 sometime in the next couple of years. Without question I want to take the family to the western hills , see Danny W a.k.a. "drivesubies" from this board who lives in TN. He's got some serious Subaru restorations going on and is hardcore about them. Gotta run , sleep later , see you guys tomorrow ...

We just had our '79 4WD wagon hit and now have passed it along to a fellow in MD. Still have a '79 Brat and '78 4WD wagon to play with for now. Good to see one more East Coast Vintage owner ! Talk to you soon, Paul
