  1. Gonna force myself to make something happen. I work overnights so days can be tricky. Rain coming -gotta check the weather underground -they rule http://www.wunderground.com/ talk to you later tonight or tomorrow
  2. bday same as Einstein's yup i know thinking later in the month. mostly need time to get something ready so we can wheel instead of sight see this time. there's storyline going here .... the Devil thing .... come on Neo tell 'em what you saw chasing those deer did you see that bogus show I'm talking about? nice shots of the Barrens. so next run must be "The Devil Chase Run" ....'cuz I said so.
  3. You're a sweetheart well,I went up there and took a good 20 minutes going thru things and came up empty. But at least I know which boxes they aren't in. Tomorrow might be rain , if not I'll take boxes out and be able to go thru lots more. I see Danny W (drivesubies) is back on the board and posting. I'll bet anything he's interested in these too since he's got more resto's going than any of us. Also going to bet he has a stripe kit to loan out if I fail. But give me thru the weekend ,please. And speaking of Danny -I have to think he would do good with a new made '72-3 GL1400 Coupe stripe kit. But he'd be a one of maybe 3 people on the planet that we know of who could use them. pardon the thinking out loud talk to you soon
  4. nipp ...... did you ask Neo about the sighting we experienced ? I'm not so hot on camping in the middle of the place all alone anymore. :-\ But the show kind of stunk. Not a lot of real hardcore evidence.
  5. See that show on the History Channel? When's the next run?? Those of you clueless - we get together for trail riding/offroading in the NJ Pine Barrens home of the Jersey Devil. You know my B'day is coming up and its on a weekend ......
  6. Your ambition is inspiring,Earl. I'm going to make a run up to storage tomorrow to pay the rent. Should have the warmest dry day this week to hunt around. Don't anyone get excited please but I should have the "Subaru" , "Four Wheel Drive" and maybe another ....was it "Five Speed"??? And there's an assortment of colors - but not necessarily all colors for all scripts. Hang on and I'll get them. Funny, but I was working up my own personal decal list and was going to search all our USMB graphics folks' catalogs. I know Mick makes some but I really don't need anything I saw on his webpage. Sorry Mick. For sure I want the rocker decals - black "Subaru" and if possible a blue "Four Wheel Drive". And I'll pay up front.
  7. I can probably supply Earl too. Just need good weather to get at my stock.
  8. Bump maybe the next 120 posts will be even better No I didn't reggy yet but will do soon. gonna be a hotshot and reggy at least 2 or 3. Economy so I'm sure it'll keep attendence down. Just hope folks can consider making it. I smell a food thread on the horizon.
  9. Hi Kev,this is Charlie's friend - Paul. Good luck with the sale. Todd has told me a lot about the work/parts you've put into this car. Considering that and its solid base this should get at least $2k - but with the economy I'm not so sure about $3k. Talked to Charlie yesterday and he seems in good spirits. Hoping to get up there this week and give him some help. Take care and good luck with the car.
  10. If it were here in the USA - not GSR but Coupe -it'd be a '72-3 with those bumpers. if that helps Would be nice to have here regardless.
  11. No block heaters in these kits. Look at my gallery for pics. Weber - not sure. I don't think it matters since the shield clips onto brackets not on the carb itself.
  12. I saw in another post that one person mentioned there's many people looking for the carb. shield used in wintertime. Somewhere in my load of storage are many "Cold Weather Kits" from the late 70's into the '80-84 cars. Please post here if interested in obtaining either the whole kit or just the shield. Sorry I didn't get this posted before the winter came .... Pretty sure I posted these before and got little to zippo response. Having trouble with pics here so please check my gallery and check out the shield and the entire package. Cheers!
  13. Youch! Yes,someone has already replaced your old pump with something located elsewhere. Your pump belongs where you thought. Getting hard to find the OEM spec. but there's still a few out there.
  14. Black and white were all I've ever seen stock on the bumpers that weren't chrome. Same for the bars -b/w. There's a few chromed bars out there for sure. I don't recall an aftermarket co. making them but I'm not Joe 4Wheel either. Winch - Yellow Check my gallery it should show you my rig. Orange wouldn't be out of place but yellow for mechanical is SOP to me.
  15. This place has had these rear mufflers for oh so long it pains me to still see them for so cheap. These are a really nice deal at $24.99 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Muffler-for-77-78-79-80-81-Subaru-4-WD-Brat_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2em20Q2el1116QQitemZ230149250564QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories If someone could handle these I think we could use at least a half dozen up this end, maybe more. Band these together -cheapest cargo possible. The seller told me $93 for shipping one or two banded. That's way too high. I would personally order and pay for 2 with possibly adding 1 or 2 more. Gotta think 2-3 more sold to the CT guys. Maybe Mary in MA? New guy in NY ,and probably a few more for the northeast.
  16. Can someone go by and look this car over for me? http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/cto/1017160958.html Only if its not a problem. Please don't go out of your way. Thanks
  17. All good advice here but also do yourself a favor and check the plastic silencer and the reeds on the air suction system. The reeds wear out and allow much more heat into the plastic which results in melting and bits of plastic going up into the carb. They sometimes solidify in the carb and can actually cause similar problems.
  18. Sept. 15th,2001 we had a couple of guys with WRX's & Impreza RS's whipping thru there. I claim large stones for keeping right on their tail with my '86 Brat. Still remember the WTC smoldering dust into the sky that morning looking down the Hudson as we crossed the GWB under a HUGE American Flag. Paison who was the main ringleader of that first USMB Pine Barrens gathering was working just 2 blocks from the WTC when it all went down. I can still recall him describing it as "like being in a Godzilla movie". Pine Barrens offers so many memories. It's great to see people flock together and blow out some steam on the trails. Can't wait untill our next ROMP !
  19. Not to me. I threw a fairly fat bid on it. First bid and one bid only. I didn't win. Oh well. The point here is that the seller posted it as possibly fitting brat and every other Subaru etc... and didn't care to change the description which was misleading. If that person wants to turn it over I'm here.
  20. That's right. The 4WD wagon was actually imported as a "van". And the Brat was considered a truck(?) which resulted in the hard impact bumpers and no inner door bracing like the passenger cars. I'm not sore. I hope there really is another guy or gal with a late '77 or '78 4WD wagon like mine that is serious -like me. I just didn't like that the seller wouldn't change the description and it invited most vintage owners to think the bumper works for them when infact it does not.
