  1. Mandatory -standard procedure - when using on galvi - fencing ,etc. These sprays look great in certain applications and sure do protect and last when you spray it on clean metal. My restoration of my winch has that galvi. spray on the pulley and mounting. Looks better than when it was new.
  2. Need to iron out a few things and get back to you folks late tomorrow or Wed. As of this moment we'd be coming down in the FWD '92 Leg wagon. Need a fresh battery for the '78. New tires - ready that way. Also,I'm pretty sure I'm without a tow strap these days - need to check. Normally for a quality item I don't mind spending , but the ones I've seen lately are like $60 and made in China. Not that my last one wasn't about the same, but I'm just tired of buying Chinese crap. So uhh , you guys have decent tow straps ? Early April better - combine PA yard run - maybe camp - fish
  3. Ladies and Gentlemen ......the Ides of March have left the building. Please drive safely. Thanks,Dave. And Steve...and all. Outro theme song - Glad To See You Go
  4. Thanks very much for your input, guys. Although I can't do any machining right now I do expect to be in a new home soon and have a Bridgeport miller set. But I would gladly send work out and thanks Scott, for offering. One setup I'll do perfectly "stock" as the USA really never saw a dual carb Subaru through a showroom. The other d/c intake I want to have some fun with and make something that older car enthusiasts will appreciate and maybe cause them to repsect the little old Subaru more. And of course a little preformance won't hurt. These days I often work with prepreg graphite sheet that I'm making linkage pieces with a little at a time. A couple of plys,a little time = nice ultralight, ultrastrong pieces to make linkage from. This project is a long way off,I'm sure but not entirely over the horizon.
  5. Sure...there's a reason. sounds cool. That's sort of half of the idea. Make something vintage that resembles a vintage sports car from Europe, etc.
  6. Hey guys there's a guy on eBay with some extra Subaru shirts. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230232006782&ssPageName=STRK:MEBI:IT&ih=013 I picked up a bunch for our meets. Just thought you guys might want some raffle or prize items, etc. Plenty cheap !
  7. That's why I'm really looking for alternatives to a Weber twin setup. It'll be a low use,fun vehicle. There's no way I can go and compete with the Datsun guys at the straightlines but I'd like to have something similar. Wouldn't you know that today I saw the super bright yellow Datsun with slicks,etc...... that I'd seen last year and previous, but only two or three times. Two years ago this mang pulls up along side my '78 wagon in highway rushhour traffic (parade) and can't even smile at me. Just lights up the rears with the supercharger whining away. Pretty cool, but obviously he thought my ride needed to be shown his car's muscle. I'll kick his rump roast in snow and ice !!!! :-p OK,back to the multi-carb setup.
  8. I've got ideas of Mikuni m/c four carb setups from a big bore bike. Then again,I have too many ideas. I do own a Puch Twingle with a Bing and have another matching carb in new form. They're mighty small though being on a 175cc bike.
  9. Has anyone seen any aircraft EA71's or EA81's with dual Webers or other non Hitachi? Thanks for the info,Jerry.
  10. That's what I needed to know,thanks. Yes,I'm aware of needing the hotter cam,etc.
  11. The real question here is - what are you going to do with these vehicles when you are all done with them? Will you folks look for the closest yard to dump them all in or actually make some sort of effort to market these? Good luck. Too bad you folks aren't taking advantage of Connecticut's tax breaks which has a flood of film industry production happening all over our little state. We just sent many 70's Subarus to the crusher this past winter that were all in one location. There's still a few more scattered that need to be crushed if you folks find yourselves doing any work out our way.
  12. Thierry, Up here, come 1974,Subarus began with the squared bumper (with rubber end pieces) and 5mph shock absorbers. Was it the same down there? If you look at the pics one guy posted of three Coupes in the weeds you can clearly see the difference. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=86251
  13. Tanks all yuze gize 45 for those counting. Cranked up plenty of Ramones at work. Guinness on standby but with my work schedule and nasty sleep pattern (or attempt at one) I need a good night's sleep before I can drink these days.
  14. Haven't registered yet,but that's not a big deal. Friend of mine might bring his '67 Lotus Elan this year. Or the Alfa GTV6 he turned over to his sister. Outside chance we can talk his dad into bringing this beauty: 1952 MG TD Bring whatever, just leave the attitudes aside in the bushes by the gate.
  15. Looking to maybe have some fun with one of the d/c setups I have. What's been done with dual carbs?
  16. Hey,keep this one out of jail, will ya?? Plenty of parts here too,but I am probably a good month away from begining the great purge of 2008. For sure I have bumpers - probably even new or rechromed I bought.
  17. From first sight these look good for me: From orange coupe pictured first: Grill and/or the "Subaru" badge on the grill. Front bumper if straight Chrome window trim if not pitted. Rear windshield glass White Coupe: (looks to be a '74 or '75) Driver's side mirror Seats **** Even if you just got the white center portions with the little "star" pattern in it. But it most be 100% Third coupe looks rough, but see what the interior looks like, please. I'm not rich but I do take care of people for their efforts. Nice part of NC you're in. Might be down to the VIR track later this year which is right on the NC border. By that time the weeds should have the cars covered,so let me know if you can help me out. If you do try to make one of those a runner I can help you out with engines,etc.. Would be fun to make a sleeper out of one of them.
  18. Good luck. I own a '73 Coupe Would pay for some parts. Contact me if you actually make some moves on these.
  19. You're covered !!! Now we expect to see you at Carlisle. http://www.svvscc.org/newpages/new_hvh_page.htm Hillclimb is early May. Carlisle = mid-May.
  20. Third weekend in May,every year. http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/import/index.asp Cheers
  21. Too cool !! and unfortunately a little too far,for me. Glad you had so much fun. Well, maybe next year. Will we see you at Carlisle,Mike?
  22. Joe,I'm very sorry about your situation. I sure do hope things change for the better, and soon. My friend and I just had lunch earlier and were talking about the whole police/corruption/favoritism,etc. ordeal we live with. I'm in the middle of a little situation here too. Need a police report from an incident which happened over a month ago. Getting the run around...etc...I just know there's a connection issue here where the offender must be related or close to a cop. What you said back there, entirely TRUE and I am presonally extremely proud to say I know you. That took balls, and I appreciate you coming out and saying what you did from your point of view. I commend you and applaud you. Downward spiral,we're circling the drain now. Good health to all and peace in your future.
  23. Noooo,it's not 10 years. There'd be people stealing cars left and right and making their own bill of sale slips. The law was "before 1981" no title is required. Pretty sure they made it 20 years now. 20 years for Classic status, that's for sure. I replied to your other post seeking parts. Check it out. Good luck with it. Might not be the fuel pump. Tank might be gooped up and just not drawing like the '74 I just got that has been sitting. Plenty of Factory manuals cheap on eBay. I'm sure I have at least one '79 I could give up. Read my reply on the other post and git on up here next month when the temps warm up over 50.
  24. No sweat. He's a good guy. I have procrastinated on making an offer on a lot of stuff he hasn't listed yet. Pretty much weeded out the 70's items and going to make an offer on that lot alone. he has a heap more of 80's parts too and I think some Legacy too.
