  1. Very cool!! High visibility. Much needed these days.
  2. No pressure. We can work it out in the future. Dave, wasn't that like $20 or so? I could just pay you if you want. Money is no where near as tight as it was back then when this thing popped into our lives. No sweat all around. If it needs to sit here it's not the worst thing to have around. Hangs really nice from walls or ceiling. Right now it lays over a whole mess of bulky parts,so it's acting as a tarp these days. What do you folks have to go through for inspections up there for a 70's Subaru?? We are SO lucky down here lately.
  3. Oh!!! I just happen to have a pretty cool, reliable 1982 GLF sitting at my storage space that could be borrowed. Connie, come down and grab it today if you need it.
  4. Not sure what I can do to help but call if you need to. I'll be up all day,or should, right through 'till 8AM. There's an XT engine here but it's a 4cyl. :-\ Yours if you want it,just take it. As for your 6 take it easy, look at everything from the plenum not being tightened down to ...... everything. Gimme some time and I'll call you to see how things are going.
  5. I'm there!! I mean, WE'RE there. Gotta bring Luc too. We'll probably camp out Friday night. We did that last year or the year before, just us two,and a HOT August summer night and day. Don't forget water to drink and a dust mask! Friday night,a couple of beers around the campfire would be cool. Satruday AM -the Diner !! Yum!!
  6. No sweat, keep in touch. It's tucked away so just give me plenty of heads up time.
  7. Dave,Congrats! Hey,I've been thinking of you....often,lately. I have that rear quarter for an EA81 wagon that you won on eBay and I picked up. Still there. Let me know if you can make a run down sometime soon and I'll send you home with plenty of extra stuff.
  8. Hey you turkeys! Got the move done without you. Or just about anyone else. Charlie was the only guy to come down and help me. And he's not even signed up here on the USMB :-p And that was only one small trip bringing two engines over. Otherwise it was all ME. Be sure to check eBay and the Marketplace for all the great parts and cool stuff I'll be unloading in the next month or so as time allows. One man,two stones, one Legacy wagon, and one little Ford Ranger borrowed from dad for a few days. And my lugnuts are still intact. Jeff,if you see this,I will now focus on your motorcycle. We'll be talking very soon. And for anyone waiting on shipping, please give me a couple more days to get your items going. Thanks
  9. Or you might just be wearing into the rotors somewhat. Check the brakes lately?
  10. Hey Guys,I'm OUT....sorry. FREE tickets on the third base line to a Yankees game. My son is an ARod fan and he's going to be about 20 ft. from the guy all game long. Right there in the first box off third base!! Have fun. Rob,I'll have to catch you next year,my brother. :-\ Have fun guys! Don't get out of control.
  11. Well, there's two factors here. Up there, like Albany and north, going up towards the lakes its Dodge cars and scotch drinking. They're in a different world than the rest of NY and New England. As a matter of fact,Subaru of America recently ran a radio ad clearly stating that the NYC area is now the leading sales market in the USA. Factor two, you're right. The EA81 cars joined the dinosaur status my '78 and '79 wagon's have. The "GL/DL/Loyale" is right behind them. Mostly due to rot, without question. The early Legacy, now there's a point I've made for a couple of years now. It seems they rotted out quickly too.Pre-galinized bodywork, poor painting, etc. Those cars went ragged fast,to me. There are plenty of examples left down here but they are fading fast too,and most show great wear, but just won't die. I relate these to the '80-84 cars because they also had paint issues and held water in all the wrong places and rotted out all too quickly, while having a reliable engine and drivetrain. You come down here, boy,we'll show you some real purty Subarus. BTW my '92 FWD is just great, and solid too, always a NY or MA car. My '78 wagon too, always was within 10 miles of my home, but it was rustproofed properly when new.
  12. Congrats to both of you and best of luck. Lots to do here before I can even consider the Dragon, but I'll see what I can do. Certainly,Rob coming makes me want to push to make it happen. Where are you starting out from? How many overnights? How far down the Parkway are you guys going?
  13. Trip out? You didn't eat those mushrooms in Oregon, did you???!!!! :-p Dragon thing,I'll be trying, can't promise though.
  14. Now that's dedi-freakin-cation!!!! Ended up getting a call around midnight but the studio was closed for the night.... See you next RedneckFest...:-p
  15. Got no call from my musician friend so sorry,no late night trip up. Glad you guys had fun.
  16. Thanks spark,PM sent. Did Andrew ever make it there? He's in Eugene OR these days hanging out with octogenarians.
  17. Have fun guys! And,we did have an ECSS1 already, but only a couple dozen hardcores were there. This would be pertaining to the base here on the USMB. Carlisle is a National Event as they advertise it,and we are growing as an ECS Group. The new wave of Subaru owners is begining to show interest there. And of course,we have Connie's Cookouts !! You WCSS people
  18. Sorry guys, can't make it. Have a great time.....if you can beat your efforts here. Company Family Day at Quassy Park, niece's graduation/birthday party MUST attends. See you all next time.
  19. We did it to the infamous touring wagon while ripping through Pine Barrens for the ?? 4th or 5th time. Just the top punched through a little, but enough to say bye bye to the car. My opinion, don't waste any more time or money on it.Use it.Deal with the moldy smell, obviously you have already on rainy days.Get a few of those fat paychecks from your new job and go 2.2 !!! Something pre-97,cheap and effective.
  20. I will do my utmost to make it,but certainly can't promise anything. Rob,when is Sturgis? Maybe you can hit that on the way back if the timing is right. Any plans on the route back? Going the same in reverse or maybe swing a little northeastward??
  21. Yeah,I was thinking along these lines too.But we don't have to see his g'folks like he does.Guilt, and all that....but hey if you "sold" it to a friend who would more or less hold it for you untill a little time goes by... Mechanics and tinkering with cars is something you obviously want to take part in.They'll recognize that as your hobby and appreciate your wanting to restore that classic over time. They don't feel that way now,but they will in a few months,a year,or so. My opinion. That is a unique vehicle in FL these days.
  22. Hey,nipper does have friends!! ...so he says... Going to be good to hang with all these ball breakers,I'm sure. Any children coming? Besides us? As long as I can make it I'll bring up something you folks haven't mentioned.
