Yeah,Florida is no bargain.Used to see "Solid Southern Car" advertised years ago when people were gah gah for muscle cars.Very few were ever actually "solid" throughout. And Florida, well there's salt air, harsh sunlight...not good. Both my '78 wagon-which you may have heard about  and the '76 I talked about were CT cars for life. They and a few others represent that 1-2 % I'm getting that '74 Jon posted from Idaho, and from now on I have virtually no choice but to get them from the west,etc.. The old lady 70's cars are all gone now up this way. Well, almost all gone. But I'm turning my back on EA81's and EA82's. -

No,not for me,but thanks for your consideration. I'm really not drinking much at all these days, but if its cool out a good Guinness,or if its warmer any decent Ale.But to tell the truth please don't go out of your way for the sake of showing up with something impressive. After this week of people not returning calls, etc. and basically blowing me off in one way or another I'm probably leaning towards blowing off Carlisle. But I have to say,the most of you guys going for the first time I'd really like to meet,so there's a chance I might go.Just so much going on and now is the only time for me to get my move done and get our home on the market by completing the work going on.Son has two baseball games that weekend too.Lots of reasons to not go,but few reasons to drive that far just hang with people at the moment. -

Sorry,Devin, but that's false. Maybe upwards of 98% but if you look at my '78 wagon and the '76 GF I had to crush you'd know there's a good percentage point or two that survive. Not saying you're not 98% right, but there is that 1-2% but they usually aren't easy to see since they are genuine old lady cars. They are the ones who get them washed.take them to dealers for mechanicals, and put next to zero miles on per year. There's a VERY solid 3door right here in Bridgeport and an EA81 wagon both of which I've looked under. Also,Andrew has failed to come through so now I will have to cover shipping on those door panels or take a ride up.We're overdue to go to VT to see some friends,so maybe we'll do that soon. Thanks for your help.Let me know what's still around from that '74 and I'll consider the shipping vs ride. -
Tightening EA63 cylinder heads?
moosens replied to Leeroy's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Sort of like an hourglass shaped socket??That's the one I have. I'll get a pic when I have a little more time. -

moosens replied to Leeroy's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Will do my best to check for you.Might take me some time but if you send a PM or email to remind me it will help. Most of the time you can grind down a socket and get by.I do have the special socket for the EA71 so maybe that works on the EA63. Should be finding out someday myself as I'll be getting another 1400 in a couple of months. And this one has an engine knock,I'm told. -

Sounds good to me!! -
Should be 1600 on the left and 1400 on the right. 1600 = p/n 31230 4302,which is the original p/n. Same on both sides.

moosens replied to moosens's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Most of this went to Charlie, but there's some kicking around.Notice my ff-1 markings on the boxes, etc.Stayed up untill 3-4 AM a LOT of nights researching all those part numbers and marking the parts. -
How to identify Brat LSD
moosens replied to DPDISXR4Ti's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Quick message for Brad.... That XR4Ti has a cracked dash, but decent seats, shows I think 54k,which might be 154k...just looked at it quick, but I'll be seeing it everytime I go to my new storage space,so I'll gather details soon enough. -
Isn't there a washer that allows you to use your Subaru nuts?Check around.Jon from NY said there's a post here, and I do remember seeing it but not reading it.

moosens replied to moosens's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Thanks, but there's more still to come over. Not so much more body pieces, but engines, transmissions, suspensions, and interior parts some of which are there but hidden (door panels and other flat items). Some of the stock was from a three way purchase but a lot of it was mine from another dealer buy and various finds. That's why I'm focusing on the 70's and just keeping a 90's car for each of us,my wife and I as daily drivers. Not really into the 80's anymore. -

I think we have one!! Might have already set it aside to Charlie who went in on the old stock purchase with Andrew-WagonsOnly-and myself. And now Andrew has an ff-1 wagon too, rough but workable. I will keep it in mind and hopefully find one for you when I get the chance to go through everything. What else did you need for the ff-1? I know there's mulitples of the front grill, but I think Charlie took them so they are about 70 miles from me.Also have at least one extra of the heater shroud thing, some lenses for turn signals, and a bunch more smaller items. -

The new place. Pretty soon there'll be shelves up and you'll have to hear how I can't get to things,etc....etc...etc... So,now's the time to make time and git yer rear in gear. Or wait untill I pick items out one by one and post them for sale. -
You're missing out by not showing up to pick through my stock. Some of you might think it's sucker punch trying to get you down here to help out,but that couldn't be further from the truth. As I get items moved over to the new rental space there's all sorts of special pieces both NEW and old that could be putting a smile on a Vintage Subaru owner's face. You have next weekend to make an appearence.Or,if you have time during this coming week, you can arrange to meet me from around 10AM to 1PM in Milford,CT off exit 35 of I-95 Sorry,no time to take orders or make lists but there's fenders, hood, trunk lids,bumpers,etc.etc... Have a nice day.

This is getting like the west coast guys with their "secret-mobiles". Tease!!!! If you still want to come down and help call me first. -
Saturday-good weather. Haven't rented a truck yet.Might see tomorrow or wait while I take loads in the Legacy with the fugly roof pod.Kind of need to build a rack/shelving to kick it all off.then as I move, take down the existing shelving/racks at the old storage and move them over.....might rent a Home Cheapo truck...might do a lot of things, including blow it all off and run up to NH...but I'm hoping Andrew can help out from that standpoint.:-\ One thing for sure,I'll be up at the Milford location Saturday AM early to meet a guy coming down from VT for a roll bar.If you want to come by,I'll be there.I doubt I'll check the Board in the AM.The place is mentioned already-U-Store It on Rowe ave, in Milford,CT off exit 35 of I-95 This weekend and next could be the last shot, and SHOULD BE for anyone to get free parts or a super deal on EA71,81,82,82T parts. I tossed a heap of things last time.Gave away 5+++ whole EA81's Still more around,so don't cry to me when it's all gone.

Yeah,I asked about the hoses last year and was surprised to hear they are free and available for all to use. After the long ride for many of us I wouldn't call it desperate.Just makes good sense to get the road dust off for the Show. Saturday only for me too.If I'm still there Sunday it'll be because I caught up on sleep and am driving home as early as possible on Sunday. Looking like Andrew and Charlie are out.Too bad,but most understandable.I'm very lucky to be *most likely* going but I'm not looking forward to filling the gas tank. -
I finally got by Perkins Subaru yesterday and dropped off two promos. They're donating some promo/goodybag material to us for the Show.I also asked Anthony to please print up something or pass along items which promote his/their "SubaruPartsFor You.com" site. Going back before the Show and getting a good bagfull,or more items to hand out to our gang. To anyone else who isn't chicken poop about socializing with a Subaru dealer, please consider approaching your local dealer-parts dept. first, sales lastly-and show them a Carlisle Promo and ask if they'll help.At the very least you should get some cheesy coasters, pens,or something unless they totally suk nuts.

Thank you everybody!! Today I had a great conversation with my wife. We'll see,but I'm probably going to go see you guys and blow off my son's game.I really hope he does too and comes along with me.But he loves baseball more than cars right now. Doesn't look like a family outing by any stretch.Daughter has things going on,etc......also missing my niece's graduation-who's VERY lucky to be alive and walking after a wicked car accident this past year. Sure am going to try! And sure am going to try to tune up that '78 so I can squeeze those MPG's out!!! Freakin gas prices! -

Thanks very much for doing that.As of this moment I haven't yet even seen my Coleman, which is buried.Just brought my first Legacy load of good from the storage unit to the new garage space.Kind of like moving a pebble off the beach. Yeah,we can all help by bringing paper plates,etc...and nobody need to bring too much food.Expect most people to just be there Saturday for lunch and a few less for the evening meal.Lots of folks will disappear by Sunday, including myself, should I make it. The way it looks right now I might take off around midnight from here and sleep in the car so I can be there early Saturday AM....but things are still not 100% set.Hoping my son wants to blow off his Saturday ballgame and come along. He has a game on Sunday too. If I come down overnight I would sure appreciate a shower sometime on Saturday.I'll have to check to see if Carlisle has them.Otherwise if someone is staying at a hotel, maybe I can mooch a quicky....shower that is. Also,if I'm going to make it down for early Saturday, who wants to fatten up at the Waffle House with a big dog breakfast that morning?I know I'd be willing to. -
1982 "FE" models...are there others?
moosens replied to moosens's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
You've seen a 4door or wagon GLF??? Don't confuse the GLF with what I posted, please. This is not a model designation, its a feature, notated on certain models. We own a 1982 GLF automatic, and it's not part of the "FE" group.
