So far, that looks good for me. -
Yeah, that's what I meant, sorry. The Waffle House, mmmmmmmmmmm tasty!More coffee please..... Would be nice to start making a menu post, and see who wishes to contribute. But for sure it'd be nice to have a sit down inside like at the WH or a diner.who knows,we might even be forced to do that if the weather turns wet. After this week I'll have a better idea of what hours I'll be there, etc. and determine what eating/sleep disorders I'll be bringing along.

Right on,Jerry!!! Looking at your photos makes me think about living inland.....for a minute or two.You sure have a nice place to romp around. So,that's what my hero looks like!Nice couple of Subazuki shots there. And that HatchBrat...er uh Bratch...or whatever you call it,just too dang cool.Wish i has something like that to stuff in snobby people's faces around here.Would love to pull up next to a Hummer or Navigator, etc. with that puppy.

Import/Kit,that's the one we all go to. Love to see it anytime, but at that show it would be a huge hit with the Ultimate Subaru gang....or it should be,barring hardcore opinions. Couldn't help but notice that each time pics were posted a little more was chopped away.Understandable for fitting reasons. You basically scribe it in like I would cabinets,mantles,etc....but yes,the support is needed for rigidity or you'll be twisting the night away,in a bad way.:-\ Unfortunately I look to be leaving my current job, which i'm laid off from anyways (but working elsewhere,so no worries). At the main gig I have access to plenty of galanized pipe and a mandrel sits up in a loft relatively unused. And of course,a welder, both the unit(s) and the person both of which I could commence to create just about any roll cage, etc. for just about any situation...but,time to turn pages.I was running the shop, but the owner brought in a friend and nepotism has/had reduced my status there and now causes me to move on. -

That'll blow out, don't worry. Passenger side head should have the drain plug.As I recall,it was always the passenger side....correct me if I'm wrong, please.Quick look at an FPM shows it. Part #32 above. -
Use it,don't just worship it! My '78 has been a savior year after year.Today was no exception. Winter storm dumped a greasy load of sleet over frozen rain and about a half inch of fluff.Made for a super greasy snow. Not slush, not snow, something entirely unusual and NOT good.2nd storm like this in the past season. Love the looks the wealthy folks give me when I cruise by them and their expensive plastic pieces of crap designed by ninnies, for ninnies. Some folks show a great appreciation, like the guy with the new Subaru turbo wagon at the gas station last night.I filled up before the storm, and asked the gentleman what he thought of his new T'wagon. He started saying it was great but he has to pull in for gas every "nine miles".At the very end of his exageration he finally notices what I'm actually talking to him from."WOW that's a CLASSIC!!!",he exclaims.Got talking for a few more seconds, but the rain shortened any continued conversation.Watching his face light up was my delight.Naturally,he wished me luck with it. This car gets much more attention these past couple of years than it did the years previous. But,come bad weather,I now notice as many negative glances, and sour pusses,as it passes cars people realize they didn't have to go buy. Power to the Vintage Subaru!!!!!!!!!!

Coolant can be sopped up with a lintfree rag mostly, and the rest just blow out when you start it.Not the first guy this happened to.No biggie. -

Drain the heads from underneath. If I understood right, you've removed,or started to remove the intake...? -

Wow,finally scrolled through the project post.Coming along!! and looking very very cool. Like Joe said,"Is this going to make Carlisle this year??" Heck, even if you trailered it you'd get plenty of attention. Makes me wish I had time to stop up just to observe and possibly contribute. -

My '78 had a higher roll bar with the topper.Should see those in the Brochures page. The 2nd Gen Brat experts can probably give you a better idea of wether or not there's a high bar to go with the camper topper.Sorry about that. But I suspect you can make one just a pinch higher so you can look even more cool with the bar showing and your Hellas or ?? glowing on top, when you have the shell off. I might have a picture of the Gen II Brat with the bar. Gotta sleep, will check back tomorrow. -
We're at a solid 15 with a quick count. Add Dave, and a few regulars or semi-regulars and we should be just about there.Need be I'll kick in under my wife's name or ??.Maybe get a few others from phone calls, posting at the dealer,etc.. Charlie D. is a possibility for a Legacy. Wagon78 is around and doing well, but lost intertest for awhile. Not sure he's going to be talked into going. He did it before we started getting the USMB gang togther when he and I went down there on our own years ago. Jesse deserves a call, haven't gotten to him yet.Anyone else in contact with him on the other boards, etc.?? Jon in NY?? The Scranton guys?Matt 'n Tim? Mike -svxpert Dennis-a possibility Keith?? and your dad? Some mentioned already, some still hiding out. Don't forget to hit your local dealer up.Print this post for proof.Ask for some give-aways,promos,whatever they'll throw at you. I made a small investment on a small gift for each of the drivers/owners of older Subarus. Might have that Subaru sign, which we'll probably raffle off and donate the funds to the cause....or something.Still thinking of cool ideas on that item. Dan Perkins Subaru should be hooking me up with some sort of promo stuff.Last big meet we had at the former FSCR they gave me Parts manuals, coasters, stickers, and more!!!Everybody got something cool, and hopefully it works out that way again. Depending on my hours I might have to show up later on Saturday, which bites, but I should make lunch.Probably can't do a Friday night stay over, but should do Saturday night,so we'll show 'em how to party. Again, depending on hours I might have to leave around 4PM the latest on Sunday, still not sure.Sunday breakfast at IHOP or a diner...or the old camping stove.

Yes Brad, there's a slightly taller version for the "camper top" you have. I just sold one on eBay.The guy hasn't come ot pick it up yet,but he's kept in touch,so I can't bail out on him. How's the project??? -

Will surely try my best. Supposed to start a new job, crazy hours....much going on,way behind on my own repairs to the extent of possibly hiring Charlie D. to take care of the wife's car.:-\ Also trying to get in the Pine Barrens run. Gas prices going UP UP UP....so please don't get upset if I do have to limit my Subaru activities. After today's weather (my birthday!!) it sure feels like a great time for a cookout. Keep the post bumpin' !! -
Where can I get freezeplugs? EA81
moosens replied to Caboobaroo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Russ, the expanding type might not be that good. You turn a bolt head and it causes the rubber to expand like a molly for wall mounting,if you're familiar with those.People use them on boats all the time.Seen some used on cars, but apparently not too often from the quick search I did.
