A hello and my new 79 Wagon
moosens replied to Tensen's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Yeah, when I said "cooool" I meant because you scored the car.Not so excited about a 2.2 in there,or anything other than the good old 1600. Well, whatever you do,have fun with it.If you stuff that 2.2 in please show us some pics and add some installation info. -

Cooooooool !! And,I'm pretty sure I met you on that PB run. Wasn't that 2001,right after Sept. 11th? I remember the smoke/dust still pouring into the sky from the WTC and the HUGE Amreican flag hanging on the GWB that weekend....and you WRX guys tearing it up!!!! I was RIGHT on your tails with my white '86 Brat. -
apology accepted....yeah,I'm a bit of a richard lately (Corky II)?? Sorry Matt,I can tell I've caused some hairs to stand up,sorry about that bud. It's just that Charlie has done a hell of a lot for us here in CT this past year and although you are correct about the timing of his arrival, etc. we still felt he got the cold shoulder.....all water gone down the river. Pretty soon I should be in a new and hopefully better job.Might make me less of a ..... And now back to our show. We'll be coming down from CT with what should be our best presence yet.If all goes well we're looking at a several early-mid 70's cars,my '78,and some Legacys.Charlie will probably drive one of these,or his Legacy. Hoping Connie has the XT6 in order. Going to try to get Jesse back into it.Wagon78,Scott will be getting an email.Haven't seen him around in awhile. And I'll be making a flyer to post at dealerships.

That must have been omitted from your previous post .....that would have squashed my reply....no sweat Matt,I value your friendship.Just seems I may have fallen to the other side of the fence there.Got that cold feeling a couple of times lately, but that's easily taken as a misunderstanding.Same for the fact that Charlie must have pulled in at the wrong time.We sure do appreciate your going over there.

Thanks Connie! What's the total of registered USC cars now? Hey,one more thing..... You guys (some of you) "dissed" Charlie last year, and we didn't appreciate that. He's TOP NOTCH and just because he "invaded" our space late Saturday with a pickup truck and Honda motorcycle doesn't mean anything. He's Subaru bred, and deserves to be treated just like all of you feel you should be.Charlie,Andrew, and I split that barn stock outside of Harrisburg,so that's how deep he is with Subarus. End of rant.

My '78 Brat is being revived!

no piccie no lookie -
Did you pay that high price from the guy on eBay? (fiberglass fender) He's got a few,and a slight deal on the one or two that are damaged.Just curious, becuase I was hoping he'd not sell any for a long while and drop his price. Someone on this board knows the guy as I recall. I actually have one side in fiberglass too,but can't seem to bite the bullet and buy the other from this guy on eBay....not when I paid like $15 for the one I have.:-\

Reminds me of galvanized paint. Swwwwweeeeeeet!

Not sure on the 24th yet. But YES,the infamous,semi-legendary '89 Touring wagon now rests awaiting it's final destination.:-\ Ever see the pics of it at PB with the front wheels a good 18" in the air?? Pics might still be floating around here somewhere. Man we had some GREAT times with that car.Did at least 3 tours of duty at the Barrens, including camping with my son.

Yes,please tell.Need one here too. Advanced Auto can get one for the same price, just haven't been able to follow through yet.

What are my chances of Breaking something?
moosens replied to Bucky92's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
OK,but I just remembered that my cars up there were both 4WD,so the rear drums are different. But Charlie has lots of cars there.Andrew's white '82 GLF is supposed to go there soon, maybe that will help. One way or the other we should be able to help you out. If I don't answer the phone just leave a message. -

What about all those car Andrew has to get rid of? He must have something to offer in extras....or Charlie.Andrew was going to send another turbo wagon down to Charlie's.... As far as I'm concerned you are welcome to go over to Charlie's and pick anything you need off the cars I've dumped there.Except my turbo engine, which I might be retrieving soon. The semi-legengary touring wagon is up there with the engine and tranny removed.Should be cake to grap just about anything you need for this project.Brake booster,M/C,lines,fittings,nipples...just wanted to say nipples. Grab yourself some extras all around.Rotors, calipers, whatever it takes.I've taken care of Charlie so there should be no problem at all. It's a haul but it could be your best shot.Saturday looks to be raining. But they've been wrong often lately. If I can get there with you I'll be glad to help. -
