  1. That's our man! Those old Subaru road trips are wearing thin on me these days.I'm so glad I didn't get involved in this one,no offense Andrew. It's just that I don't have anywhere near this kind of time to invest, let alone gas money, mishaps and breakdowns,etc...Naturally,I wish I could have roadtripped it with you,but life got in the way.:-\ Hat's off to our man Andrew for protecting all vintage Subarus, and then some.
  2. Maybe in the springtime, but Andrew might be able to take some shots of his and post them.
  3. They sent us 24,not 25. So I called and they apparently are hoping I'll ask for a credit instead of asking for the last piece. Which concludes they did not order any for themselves for stock. First gasket finally shipped. Thanks for all your patience. They should all be on their way in the next couple of week.
  4. I'm fairly confident that between us and eBay you'll get it running. Weatherstripping will have to be whatever you can find that works.
  5. Should be the 1400 EA63 Mike,I never realized you're in the same town as John Cockrell.I just sent his gasket out :-\ could have sent yours too.Doh. .
  6. Known in the USA,to myself: 2 wagons both in Connecticut 1 2door in Oregon 1 4door also in Oregon We expect there's at least a couple others out there. Andrew's wagon is much more rough than I'd thought it would be but it's a start. The body is mostly there.Going to be impossible for a straight resto but he'll keep the body style going, which is all you can do in our case with these cars. Charlie's wagon is in a garage, and we couldn't get close to it to get a look that night I was there. The guy in OR has kind of disappeared. He has a neighbor who is a lady doctor who has that 4door.She told him she just wanted it gone,so somebody got a freebie. We suspect that the doctor's car was rather well maintained,so that should be a real candidate for a true resto.
  7. :slobber: Oh man, that hurts. But at least some lucky sucker will have a pretty sweet little buggy...or two...or three.... There's a LOT of nice cars in that group.
  8. Cool!!!!!! We've got you coverd on parts, just GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. [quoteExtra cargo space is really all it is. There are no other differences, but they did usually come as high-end models with many options. ] I'm not so sure about that.I used to get around 16 gallons in the tank,so maybe they had a slightly larger tank?...would make sense for "touring".
  10. Whoo baby!!!!! Nice score! If that dash is uncracked you have one of three known in the northeast. Be sure to let me know what you need.I've got a rear seat backrest for that wagon in in fairly new condition. But I'll bet yours has hardly ever been used.
  11. Hi Trudy,Welcome back.....no honey,we're talking about Stage I and Stage II. Or,at least that's what I was talking about. Stage I - '72-'77 early Stage II - '77 late thru '79 for cars. All '77-'81 Brats are a "Stage II" but also "Gen I of the Brat. Still haven't checked any manuals yet.
  12. What year turbo wagon?'83-4 style or the Loyale style?
  13. Ziebart is the ONLY reason this 1978 Subaru wagon of mine is still on the road kicking butt all over the northeast. RRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! You doors already come with drain holes.Key factor is to make sure all drain holes are passive when coating is done.I believe they insert small pieces plastic film, etc. in the holes and remove them as it's curing.
  14. #1 -don't bother for many reasons #2 -did you check to see what's under the other guy's hood yet? We've got some of those folks up here too.....they take theirs to the dragstrip,etc....so good luck if you do go for it. #3 - "p" is nowhere near "d" .....how'd you manage to spell it "neep some help"? just bustin balls...stay out of the newspapers!!
  15. Sure,I'd do two,for sure. Are the Stage I and Stage II the same?? I'll be able to answer my own question when I dig out my manuals again.:-\
  16. Yes,getting very hard to find.Might be a good group buy item again,if we can have some made or reman'd.Times are good for shopping around, since work is getting hard to come by for a lot of folks. I'd hoped to find one in that parts lot we got but no dice.:-\
  17. That's exactly what you see in my picture.I got that same p/n TX18 Goes for like $13 plus $7+ shipping. And according to their locator there's two of those in the next town over, but they don't say where.Probably some warehouse, not a store. dats poyfeckt Thanks,I get a shop discount so I'll try my local guy.Infact,I left a message with the other parts guy and I'm sure my guru parts guy will locate one for me.But thanks,I've used those 1stSubarus,SubaruParts.co....etc.,and I'll use them again sometime. My local and I have a good relationship and I need to stop in and drop some dough there to keep some status.
  18. Found this online. Looks like the right one to me. Any different opinions?
  19. Anybody have the part number for that?It sits between the turbo charger and the throttle body, has a rectangular plastic connector molded onto it with two small spades. Any idea how much they list for? I've seen some on eBay for Mazdas, etc. that look exactly like the one I need. Are shaft size and thread pitch typical throughout the industry?Or at least shared by a few Japanese companies? I really need a good unit, preferably a new one,but I've got access to a used one that we think was working fine. Thanks for any help. And,if you have one that you can get to me really soon for real cheap, please let me know.I'm anxious to get this car going like I know it should.
  20. Some pics for kicks...... I've got a couple of boxes ready to go.Just need to make the time for FedEx.John C and the Canadians...sounds like a band, you guys are first up. Enjoy!
  21. Both in Jersey as of today. That's what the vintage Subaru king told me.
  22. Yup,I've gathered up some boxes and will be sending the Canadian lot and John Cockrell's firstly. Hang tight.I suck at getting things out sometimes. But I'll most likely be taking a winter layoff so things should be completed swiftly.
