  1. Not bad....and you fixed the rear bumper too. Maybe a set of those '79 mirrors on the sides.
  2. Russ,is the '79 from a Brat with the external diode on the back side of it?Those will work. An alt. from a sedan or wagon, etc from '79 won't do it.
  3. One of these days we all need to see who's contacted which dealerships and specialty shops and then move in on those we haven't checked yet. This one above struck me. What stinks is that Charlie is getting a HEAP of incredible ff-1 parts and should I ever finally get the one from Washington I'm going to be hacking out parts restorations. But good for Charlie. He's the man here in CT.He says his 1971 ff-1 wagon resto. is probably about 5 years down the road.Oldest running non 360 in CT Next oldest is Andrew's '73 wagon.
  4. Oh,and it's mostly for my brother who is interested and not a USMB member.....for those concerned for my parking issues.
  5. Thanks,I'll send a PM right now. Yes,the BRAT was introduced in 1977 You won't find many that are termed '77s. Most people don't know, and it's an easy enough mistake to make especially since it took a few months for those mid year 77's to sell. I met a guy who insists he was sold the very first BRAT in the US at a dealer where SOA is based in New Jersey.
  6. Can you get me a price on the headlight buckets complete. That's the piece in back of the lights that the bulbs sit in.I need those for Mick in Iowa.Must be four headlight type. What color in and out?If there's a blue bash that's uncracked and looks really really excellent I'd pay you for the half hour it'll take to remove it. Might want a few other items too. Thanks, Paul
  7. Mary,I hear ya,I've been saying the same thing since around 1999.A couple of you have resources, funds, and time that I don't so you guys beat me to it.Otherwise you can still see my original, entirely roadworthy '78 unrestored, which in itself is an accomplishment. That car gets a huge amount of compliments these days, after years of being looked down at and smirked at.Got lots of compliments at Carlisle! The coupe should be done first, and done just about as close to original as anybody can make it. Sorry my friend, there's no extras of the GL badge.Take the photo of mine and clean yours up and match the colors as best as you can.We found one of those badges in Vermont a few years ago (also NEW stock)but I think Scott K bought it just for eye candy. He doesn't own a GL1400.I'll see if I can get in touch with him but he's not returned calls or emails for a while now. Hey guys, doesn't this make you want to go ask your dealers about old parts laying around??? Shake 'em out now if they still exist.Otherwise they'll hit the dumpster, per order of SOA.....if we're lucky they put them on eBay,like Center Subaru did for awhile.I wonder if SOA put the screws to them for selling so much old stock.I don't see them pushing anything really old anymore.
  8. And made of potmetal too, like a Chevelle SS badge or something manly like that.Yeah
  9. We had to change plans due to my wife's work. We'll be coming back from a small getaway on Saturday,so I'll probably come by with the family for a quick stop on our way home.
  10. Thank you, thank you ......hey,why should I be the only one to droll over these? Unfortunately items like those were easy enough for dealers and SOA to make disappear. So,there's probably not many left here in the US. kiwi-yes,those are all brand new.The stock was found by a fellow board member and the word was shouted in the right direction.Three of us from CT with early 70's Subarus bought the stock which is/was sitting in a barn in PA.We should be retrieving the last of the exhaust and sheetmetal, and a few wheels, etc. tomorrow. There's parts from 1968 through 1979 but most of it is the early 70's from '71-'76. It's a small scale "dream come true".The three of us are getting many parts towards our restorations and upkeeps, but there's never everything you need.Still a lot of fun,but being the guy with the parts manuals it's also been a lot of late night hours spent researching and marking parts.
  11. Jon,if you're going can you bring the FE engine and parts there? Please? Might be able to swing by this weekend though, still not sure. Yes,I know I want to go and will try to get the family involved, but if I'm hauling back an engine and parts maybe I should plan accordingly. I hope all goes well this weekend so I don't have to miss next weekends Cornathon. Food,I'll wait and see and round out the menu as needed. That means Stop 'n Shop on the ride up. Maybe a few ribs?
  12. That's it,correct. Search the archives for the thread on upgrading to electronic ignition. For now, maybe take the v/r off and clean up the connections, check underneath and make sure it's not gummed up and that the capacitors, etc. are still looking good and all soldering intact. I'm really needing to run, otherwise I'll check the FSM for you later tonight.
  13. Cleaned up the thread. If you need any info it should be here within the thread. Price is #35.94 each. Please add at least 3% if using Paypal Please PAY IN US DOLLARS and if at all possible from a US banking institute. My bank charges an $8 fee for presenting a forein check for deposit. So,add that $8 please. Shipping will be extra, paid in the near future when I have the actual pieces and have calculated shipping. I do have a spearsheet going and have been updating it.It will be posted again soon.I'm updating that but I have ten thousand things going on so please be patient. Incorrect info has been removed from this thread pertaining to price. The new info has been edited in.I also weeded out some conversation and trimmed the thread down. Thanks again for all the cooperation. We're all set, order is in,should see pieces in a month to 6 weeks or so.
  14. Those three should make it onto the '73 coupe.I didn't have the heart to take the "Subaru" badge out of the plastic. That'll be done the day the paint is all set, interior done, car running, and a bottle of champagne there ready to celebrate. Oh the captions you'd like to add to this one!!....... Not even twigs 'n seeds left in that one! Those bags are so cool. There has to be a really cool reason to save them and reuse them.Legal reason, that is. Last candy for tonight.Be sure to brush before bed. a little darker, more mysterious The rest of mostly boring crap. I'm thinking this could be a pretty cool avatar. Those aren't flies they're stars!!! Smile!
  15. Exactly, and thanks for all the kind words. We see the art in these once "frumpy" and "fugly" cars to the general market. You're all welcome to cruise through my gallery.I'll add more tasty bits as I can. Most of what we have is typical replacement parts and not so much eye candy. I might have to cheat a year on my coupe. There's a wicked '74 ornament......well,let me take a pic and show you what I hope to have on the front of my '73 coupe when it's done.
  16. Yup,right on the passenger side, near battery and front of shock tower.I'd suspect a bad v/r or alt.
  17. The ff-1 wagon in WA will get this grill ornament if I can just get the CAR. Now,before you all go asking the answer is no.There's not a lot of grill ornaments,badges,emblems,etc.....just a few.And most of them pertain to the very early Subarus like the one shown here. Guys, there's always the person who'll say "Moose is teasing,Moose is bragging,etc..." Please don't take this post as that.If you had this lot of parts you'd do the same thing and for the same reasons. This is interesting and very much vintage.
  18. hahaha love you last second guys...but you're both all set. My account has been billed,I'm paying interest.....price is skyrocketing. Shoulda got in when we asked you too...... Absolute LAST LAST CALL.....if you get me this week I'm probably going to be sympathetic. If you catch me after this week I'm sorry but it's no longer a group buy/pitch in effort.PRP's price was upwards of $78 (before the re-order)....mine won't be much less.
  19. Grill for $25 total shipped your door. Not mine. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1977-Subaru-1300-1400-1600-Complete-Grill-Stage-II_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33645QQihZ014QQitemZ330010063479QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V I've got them too,but not available right now.
  20. How about have the wedding that weekend? Count me in.Let me know what to bring for food, etc. Jon in PA,thanks,I'll be in touch if needed. For now I'm just seeing who's available. There's still hope of my friend Charlie bringing me to the car then both of us will go to Harrisburg from there. But if that doesn't work I'm going to have to make something happen super fast.I'll have more info by the end of the week.
  21. Hey guys in PA,I'm getting temp plates for a wagon NW of Scranton in Wyalusing. If I throw you some money for gas, etc. can someone pick it up and rive it here for me? It's a white '85 GL Wagon with an SPFI system from an '89.
  22. Thanks guys! I found more right side black turn sigs.Found the part number too. No lefts yet.
  23. Are you trying to make an offer that keeps them from putting it on eBay? Or is this the older owner who doesn't want to bother with people and computers? Over $1000 for sure to keep it from eBay. $300-400 offer if they seem like they'd rather not bother advertising and dealing with folks. It's worth well over $1000,but how much is up to the market. Bryan, when you're hot you're hot,baby!!!:-p Enjoy the run!
