Part from interior, '81 Brat

It's definitely an '81?? Not '82? -

You'll still find the 4port exhaust on '74's too...at least the ones sitting in this guy's yard.I thought the 2port revision came with the '75 along with the intro of the 4WD wagon.I could swear the 2port was a late '74 revision. Either way,we know the early 1400s suck headgaskets and warp heads too. The EA65 was an Import engine, not typical at all to the USA market. We established that awhile back in discussion with Jason.I'd never heard of one before Jason's. I'm considering restoring my '73 to original. If I did,is there any way I could improve the liner or the way it is fastened to correct the problem using some technology that was not available back then? -
Need help. Trying to revive old subie.

Excellent! Thank you! -
Simply because Kevin in Austrailia....er,or NZ...sorry Kev,asked me to host it since he was having a little trouble getting pics up to the board. That's cool,we hear the west coast guys say this place or that place is the holy heaven of Subaru,etc....etc...... But if you ever lived in New England you'd know the real deal. 99.9% of the owners here treat them like disposable lighters and don't bother to worship them like the few of us here. When they don't rot out so easy, you guys have more to romance,so you get your good little groups of enthusiasts. East coast: Subaru users No Rot Zones: Seemingly more Subarus, but actually just more older Subarus. Stop up from November through March and you'll get to see all the Subarus come out of the leaf piles for the winter.Plenty of people keep that older Subaru strictly for winter communting. Cheers

You mean a GF Technically there were no GSR's in the USA....but I'm pretty sure there was one or two grey marketed into the States...so we've heard.

Russ, Atsugi water pump on eBay right now for the price of a sandwich.Dude,I highly recommend the small investment.Mostly because it's the same one that came from the factory and suuuuuuuuuuuch a deal. I bought one last week.I think he's got them even cheaper this week.

According to the FPM there really is no GL model listed from stage II '77 thru '79. It's either a Std or a DL if 2door sedan, DL only if 4door sedan, GF if a hardtop, coupes were offered with DL or FE livery Wagons were all DL except the 4WD which is the Frankenstein of the line. My '78 4WD wagon has quads,a front end protector with winch,A/C installed. OSU,get in on the windshield gasket group buy.We need more people. You WILL need this gasket sooner or later if you don't already.Check your passenger side floor under the carpet.Notorious location, occasionally caused by thru dash duct.....but 95%++ from that windshield gasket. Glad to see the old school still cranking out in New England. My '78 goes to work, kid's school, etc. every day at the moment. When called to duty my car has yet to fail. Make it solid, get it rustproofed.Show the SUV idiots what's intelligent like a thrifty New Englander should. I'm going to put a sign on mine."Less demand, less crying" pertaining to the oil supply/costs ratio we're given. That plow should be plenty easy to disconnect so you can get a solid 30+ mpg. -

It's a '79 by the 4WD badge on the grill, unless it was changed at some point. The plow looks like my SnoWay which was what was offered here from Subaru of New England, and maybe other "plow market" regional distributors. I'd really appreciate any pics of the mounting, especially up on the spare tire deck under the hood. -
You're on,punk!

Worse case we all go steal some parts off of the European cars and eBay them for Matt's money. ..or chip in. Same old daily driver '78 4WD wagon for me. '82 GLF if the whole family comes,or another driver. Both registered. Weather, baby, give us nice weather..... If I'm there overnight Saturday I'm racing the wagon!

Put me in for two. If it comes down to needing more I'll take a third. MUST HAVE For any vintage Subarus that are intended to stay on the road for twenty more years. -
Join up for the ride down? I'm still not sure if we are going down Friday night or Saturday AM EARLY. ETD from Bridgeport,CT area around 6-8PM if Friday night. ETD " " " " " 5-6AM if Saturday Hope to see some company on the road.If not,we'll see you there. Also, who's camping,or rooming for Friday,and/or Saturday as well? If the weather looks fair I might hit Gifford Pinchot St. Pk. again.

So...what's that mean now? 10 people/cars to go?
-
What's the deadline for getting the tent with 25 registered club members?? If it looks close we should ask folks to consider donating to the cause by registering even if they can't make it.I'd gladly register one or two more cars.Preferably none as long as 11 people get their rear quarters in gear.:-p
