  1. A Senior Master Tech I know said to just knock it about one tooth, maybe two,but usually just one tooth.Mark the side with a witness mark to the tranny case. I've never done this, but was about to on a turbo tranny when he offered a low mileage replacement he had for $50. I believe the way he told me to check it was to grab both stub axles and rotate them together slightly back and forth and feel for any play. Be sure to get a more solid opinion on this. Good luck.
  2. Nice ride!! Looks familiar.... Colorado sure can produce some extremely minimal rust vehicles.I'm guessing the high and dry areas more than the valleys. My car: That's "wagonsonly" on the left with his '73 wagon."hocrest" over on the right apparently looking at Connie's back..and Matt in the middle. I'm not in the picture. Andrew trying to get better phone reception or communicating with the mother planet....not sure which. Love that '73!!!
  3. Not so friendly lady on the phone informs me that I'll need to take care of camping stay at the check in office. As far as this aspect of Carlisle goes they really stink at lending info. Can't find camping info online other than the fact that there is camping.Call their phone and if you get the recording it never mentions camping...you hunt for it but end up calling a second time and wait for a live human being to answer after pressing a number. So,I took a ride up to my storage unit and looked inside hoping to see my sleeping bags within reach.... ....looks like we'll take a comforter with us and pad the floor with moving blankets or something.I prefer to call it white trash instead of redneck, but that's just me. My son really wants to camp at a park so we might do Pinchot on Saturday night.Oh,almost forgot....how late can we get into Carlisle on Friday night? That might have us at Pinchot both nights.Stay tuned....I'll call again tomorrow and hope for a nicer human to answer.
  4. Bringing my son,Luc,who is 8 and a half.Loves anything to do with sea creatures,if that helps. Thanks Keith!
  5. We've run many-a-jumpercable back in the day.
  6. Haven't seen Kevin on the bord much lately, but sure I'll see if he's within a reasonable range to the seller. Cool, thanks.I'll do that. PM on the way.
  7. I haven't noticed that. Thanks for the heads up,Todd. I'll check it out.Meanwhile I edited my post. Please add 3% to your total everybody, unless you're sending a check or m/o. And don't forget that you'll be paying the shipping too, when the time comes.Otherwise I'll hold your gasket hostage. ****And please incluse your board name when you pay.**** Just got a Paypal payment from a name I'm not familiar with. Thanks for your help. Cheers
  8. Edit: $ $35.94 for each gasket and please kindly add 3% to your total.Thank you. If you're sending a check or money order, etc. you need only cover the total of the gasket(s) you buy. Naturally,a Paypal payment through your bank account is best.Safe, fast, and no fee this way. Shipping will vary, and I'll let each of you know how much individually,I guess. You can send the shipping money when I get the quote.
  9. Unfortunately I can not participate on that forum.Only open to Aussies and Kiwis. If one of you guys would contact him maybe tell him to get on this board if he'll ship trans oceanic. I've got to think those items will sell in NZ or Austailia though.
  10. Guys, would one of you ship an item of his to me if I buy it? I'm in Bridgeport Connecticut,USA 06604 As much as I'd like an engine,I don't have the nerve to ask someone to ship it.Just looking at some parts that don't weigh much at all.
  11. Todd, hold on and I'll let you know.I think I can trust you. Reason being, because I'd like to see exactly how many we are going for and how soon these nice folks respond with Payment. So far, just one Paypal notification, and no other contacts. So people, please do your best to either pay,or let me know how soon you can and exactly how many gaskets you're getting ASAP. At this price I don't have a problem covering the lot.But naturally I don't want to be holding more than a half dozen or so that folks backed out on.Selling a handful on eBay in the future wouldn't hurt.
  12. That's cool, thanks for the info. I know my son wants to hit Pinchot,so that's gotta be at this point.Probably pull in late Friday night.See you guys at the gig Saturday around 9AM...? I'm not sure what Connie and Andrew, and anyone else involved in this Tour de Soob malady are planning on doing.Andrew, your phone STINKS!!!! gimme a call please, after 9 is best, thanks.
  13. Thanks for the tent offer nkx. If it looks to be dry maybe we'll take you up on that.Otherwise if it's wet a night of wagon sleeping or two shouldn't kill me.
  14. Shooting for 6-7PM Friday night. Ben,the camping at Pine Grove is rustic,no flush toilets.....so rather than see my kid freak out :-p I'll have to hit Pinchot or Carlisle.Besides,we ain't goin to learn about PA history,as nice as that would be. Maybe next time.
  15. If Connie doesn't take those I can surely use them on the GLF,which she'll end up with eventually anyways. If the GLF is somehow ready....which is possible...for Carlisle it'll be needing the tires.I simply will not embarass myself showing up at Carlisle with the rubber that's on there now.My buddy at Town Fair can hook me up too,but the only way to get a real deal is cash, which is going to be tight this week. So,can I rent those 13's if needed? Just tried to call you.You can call me now if you want to since you either don't get service of avoid me. Call up to 11PM or tomorrow right around 12:15 when I should be on lunch.
  16. Got it down to five pages in MS Word.I cut and pasted just the lists and the name of the happy hunter.
  17. Man,they don't give up much info on the website Camping: Camping is available. Call (717)243-7855 for a fee schedule and to pre-register. Do you know if you get to park a vehicle in that 10 x 30 spot? Do you have a specific spot number?I'll see if I can get one next to it or close by. I doubt they allow a fire, right? Well,I guess I'll call tomorrow or Thursday.
  18. http://www.weather.com/outlook/recreation/outdoors/results/17013?from=36hr_outlet_outdoors Pinchot only 3 miles further away. Pine Grove Furnace mentions camping but does not mention any showers,etc...so I'm assuming it's rustic camping. Personally any park will do since it looks like it's going to be "car tenting" for us.My crap is all in storage and I doubt I can get at the tent,etc....and it looks like it might rain either or both days. Carlisle camping info from the website: Camping: Camping is available. Call (717)243-7855 for a fee schedule and to pre-register. I might do Carlisle, might do Pinchot,we'll see.I'll have my son so it'll be kind of boring for him camping in a plain open field in the middle of a town at Carlisle. We are definite for both nights.
  19. Timesert will stay in when you go to drop the exhaust next time.A little pricey, but I think they're worth it. Connie, hang in there! I have a feeling you'll be in a reliable car pretty soon, one way or another.
  20. THANKS! I think you've got a plan for me to follow! There was a new crate engine in CA awhile back.I'll have to call the guy and see if it's still around.
  21. OK,as long as nobody disagrees I'll gladly take the responsibility. Look, here's the deal.I'm totally cool with a few of you young guys, etc. needing some time.I'll cover the initial buy.You guys will pay the price we do as long as you don't pee pee around and take forever to pay.A month,two....that's not so bad to me.I just don't want to sit on a half dozen of gaskets that I'm not personally commited to.If you need 3 months to cover $35.94...then please consider adding some coffee money for making me wait.Thanks. moosens@yahoo.com for Paypal, that is as long as everybody is ok with me handling this. I really think I'm going to order 30 and take the chance that there'll be a slight demand in the near future.Todd offered to split the remainders for the same reason, when it looked like we were stuck at 19.Maybe he'll split the remainder of 30 with me and he and I will hold ours or try to sell one or two on eBay. For those buying and extra to sell, good idea. And by all means go ahead and try to sell your now.My extras will be held for a while.I will not be selling any on eBay for months at least, maybe even a year or more.I'm betting that there'll be a few more 70's owners/cars popping up in the next couple of years. Hey,like the lady told Tony Montana in Scarface....rule number one, don't get high on your own stash.... meaning, unload that extra one for a good $50-60++ if you ask me,maybe more, what the heck. There probably won't be any more produced after this batch,or at least there's none floating around for any less.Supply and Demand, kids. BTW,I have a FedEx Ground account which will save everybody...as long as I'm still welcome there.I might have a problem with the account since one guy claims to have paid Canadian taxes that FedEx was hounding me for.Anyways,I'll check on the status of my account and if there's any trouble I'll still make sure you guys get the best shipping deal. I'll check back later tonight. Cheers!
  22. Yeah, sounds about right.Clean it up nice and park it on Rt. 7 right by the road, you'll get your buyer. Sounds like you want to come down and do the fuel pump on the GLF If you get desperate let me know ASAP. Did Rory do a re-stud on the exhaust?I have ....I think one or two Timeserts left.Might have a Helicoil or two,but I prefer Timeserts for the exhaust.Either way I have the kit already. And I'm pretty sure I have extra Helicoils.
  23. Sure, post here, either way works for me. Yup,that's the v/r. Supercessions, yeah, like that... The big stores don't help 70's owners too much, but always try.It can get real frustrating dealing with dorks who have to go by what the computer shows them. They'll only get you the high replacement parts anyways, which you can score off of eBay much cheaper. But hey,if you have the time to try go ahead and see what they can dig up.I tend to think they won't offer an real gems though. Beck Arnley parts are fine for your Subaru in most cases. Cheers!
