  1. About the manual I was talking about,it ended. But the person is still selling other items.eBay name is "Vermont_Ham" Check their other item (Honda Gold Wing I'm sure is still listed) and contact them thru that listing.Tell them your friend said (you do consider me a friend, right? ) that they offered to ship it cheap thru MediaMail. They said they wanted $5 for handling....still,a great deal, probably around $10-12 total. You won't find them much cheaper than that. External V/R is located up by the battery.Mounted to the side,up near the top. Diode assy is covered by that plastic cover you're talking about on your alternator. Happy to help.
  2. There was a factory service manual on eBay just this past few days....for $0.99 ! They have a $5 handling fee and were willing to use MediaMail so the price would have been under $10 total. I passed on it because I got too busy and really don't need another one. Might be still on,might be re-listed,but still go get one. The f/p is the cylindrical type, not rotary. Some things to consider for the f/p: connections, especially grounds plunger and plunger tube can get dirty, and can be cleaned. Are you sure you have a good voltage regulator?Good alternator diode?
  3. I don't think so. No barn here,or even enough space to store most of that heap. Once again, take a look at the pictures and descriptions and see what you might be interested in.Then, email or PM me if you are a 70's owner and serious about getting something. At that point we can exchange phone numbers. On the day I go there we can call each other and verify items, and verify that you WILL come though with the money and NOT b/s around because I sure don't have extra money to cover people. I will do my best to print and bring the Wish List thread from the Historic Forum with me.Depending on how the day goes I'll do my best to let people know if items they desire are still left there in the barn after my departure. But if you call me,or allow me to call you it'll make life a little easier. THIS IS MOSTLY 70'S STOCK IF YOU DIDN'T CATCH THAT ALREADY SO PLEASE DON'T ASK ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE.Some people will see this thread for the first time and get excited. Please read the posts that are linked above before you get too crazy.
  4. Looking to camp/car sleep. How about you guys? Who's camped at Carlisle itself? Cost there? - uh,I guess I can look that up Ammenities? - shower is probably all I really care about, guess I can research that too but if you know the answers help me out.My "research" will probably be done late Thursday night. If a few of you would like to make it a mini-camp meet maybe we can block out space at Carlisle or Gifford Pinchot,etc.... As I recall, there's no KOA nearby......correct me if I'm wrong.I think I'm still a KOA member.
  5. Maybe I should make the yellow Beetle owner push it. Actually,I don't think Andrew is driving that at all these days. Yeah, somehow, someway,I'll be there. I'm thinking it's going to be a full weekend now.But contrary to previous thoughts I doubt I'll do the auto-X on Sunday if it means going to the barn in H'burg. Who's camping at Carlisle???
  6. I absolutely promise to call you from there.I'll post or contact you to let you know when I should be there. That way if my pea brain forgets you can call me.:-p Seriously, think about the pictures and descriptions of what the boys posted and let me know what items you saw that you'd like. That goes for anybody. Game plan: Bring cash, pick through parts, wave cash and sing a real pretty song. He'll be better off with less to sell and a decent chunk of dough in his hands. That way he can lower the price on the big lot and maybe get a sucker....I mean buyer. Mary, and everyone,I really expect this stuff to be gone REALLY soon.I talked to him just a week or so ago and he's bent on clearing the barn out and using it for material storage for the 23? luxury homes he's building on the property. The door "re-manufacturing" business is not his priority for the barn space the parts takes up. Folks,I've been doing this for just a bit longer than the rest of you, except Todd.I've heard ALL the stories, including getting to one place less than TWO WEEKS after tons of sheetmetal, glass, and all the old shelf stock went to the crusher. Given this guy's situation I'm sure he's watching the interest rates, housing prices, etc. and if he has half a brain he's moving BIGTIME on this project before he starts losing hundreds of thousands of dollars to complete the homes. I personally know of an investor who built an entire neighborhood only to come up losing at the end because of bad timing. Another thing I'd like to put to people is to make sure you get my cell phone number from me if you're serious about purchasing from this stock but just can't make it there. It's going to be a weekend so I could care less about phone time. I just allowed myself to be ripped off to get a '72-75 Factory Parts Manual. That'll be there with me along with my '77-79 FPM and my '81-82 FPM Gonna be tough to get one past me.If it has a part number we/I should be able to identify it and make sure the end user gets the correct part. No Sleep 'till Harrisburg!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. I'm having some troubles with the '78 as of this afternoon.Tranny/clutch....not too healthy, but hopefully not internal. Might be better if I bring the '89 wagon.
  8. Rizzo,I have a plow down here in CT.There's a guy with 2 of them near Hartford. The one in the picture is a redneck bogus excuse for a plow, sorry. But I'm sure it works good enough for that guy. I'd sell mine for $600 this week if anyone is interested.Located in Milford,CT
  9. Well, thanks for the company guys, but I'm thinking it'd be a waste of time for anyone without a 70's vehicle....Or a guy who has to drive many thousands of miles. So,I don't know, have people been making deals with the guy? Am I going to get there and see why nobody cares to go there? Or do I have to gather up all those goodies by myself?
  10. Carlisle next weekend. Since I'll be in the area there's no way that I'm not going by this guy's place.Who wants to meet up there? If you don't know the story, please check for the old post in the Marketplace. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=55101
  11. Charlie will be south of Carlisle on a mission, but says he'll be there.Probably without a Subaru since he's on a mission with a flatbed or something like that. His friends are supposedly going (2 of them) with a VW and something else, maybe a Subaru. But they'll register under the Ultimate Subaru name to help the cause. Called Scott,wagon78,and got no response. Haven't called Jesse.Mary said she's out awhile back. Andrew,if you can offer any time to help me out in good weather I'd like a partner/standby/helper for the '82's fuel pump job and some turbo wagon work too if there's time.
  12. OK cool. Come on people. You register before and it saves you money...and you get a whole weekend pass should you stick around so you never pay admission, etc. again....and the "Goodie Bag":brow: You know you want the goodie bag and you're only going to get it if you register. Looking like me and my son.Heading down Friday night,camping....maybe at Carlisle, but probably Gifford Pinchot St. Pk. which is about 25+minutes south of Carlisle. Might hang overnight on Saturday too,not sure.
  13. This is the post where I whine about not having time to prepare,etc.etc.etc....how I'll be showing up in a very unrestored car etc.etc.. how I might not have the second car ('82 GLF) there etc.etc. waaaaaagh waaaaaaaagh..... But look folks,it ain't about what you bring and the "show" part of the meet. Bring what you have that makes it to and from the place.Don't waste your time whining like some old "moose".
  14. I might even get one! Outstanding design!!!!!!!!!
  15. I'll make my calls over the weekend and see who we can round up. Safety in numbers!
  16. Sorry, mine is 20+ miles away. Tri-color sounds like Brat. ...maybe.
  17. Join us at the Pine Barrens in NJ? Not sure how soon.April came and went.... Wedding to go to,more family obligations.....Carlisle......June seems best right now. I'll venture up towards you guys if you can get a spot.I'm sure there's places. Since this is the northeast how about Snob Patrol?
  18. That picture is of a late '77 - '79 Rally car.Still very very cool.
  19. Jon,still holding out on yours? Why don't you reply to me?
  20. Looks like I'll have to make some phone calls. Scott,Jesse...maybe we can get Charlie to go.
  21. You'll still find the 4port exhaust on '74's too...at least the ones sitting in this guy's yard.I thought the 2port revision came with the '75 along with the intro of the 4WD wagon.I could swear the 2port was a late '74 revision. Either way,we know the early 1400s suck headgaskets and warp heads too. The EA65 was an Import engine, not typical at all to the USA market. We established that awhile back in discussion with Jason.I'd never heard of one before Jason's. I'm considering restoring my '73 to original. If I did,is there any way I could improve the liner or the way it is fastened to correct the problem using some technology that was not available back then?
