  1. Russ, Atsugi water pump on eBay right now for the price of a sandwich.Dude,I highly recommend the small investment.Mostly because it's the same one that came from the factory and suuuuuuuuuuuch a deal. I bought one last week.I think he's got them even cheaper this week.
  2. According to the FPM there really is no GL model listed from stage II '77 thru '79. It's either a Std or a DL if 2door sedan, DL only if 4door sedan, GF if a hardtop, coupes were offered with DL or FE livery Wagons were all DL except the 4WD which is the Frankenstein of the line. My '78 4WD wagon has quads,a front end protector with winch,A/C installed. OSU,get in on the windshield gasket group buy.We need more people. You WILL need this gasket sooner or later if you don't already.Check your passenger side floor under the carpet.Notorious location, occasionally caused by thru dash duct.....but 95%++ from that windshield gasket. Glad to see the old school still cranking out in New England. My '78 goes to work, kid's school, etc. every day at the moment. When called to duty my car has yet to fail. Make it solid, get it rustproofed.Show the SUV idiots what's intelligent like a thrifty New Englander should. I'm going to put a sign on mine."Less demand, less crying" pertaining to the oil supply/costs ratio we're given. That plow should be plenty easy to disconnect so you can get a solid 30+ mpg.
  3. It's a '79 by the 4WD badge on the grill, unless it was changed at some point. The plow looks like my SnoWay which was what was offered here from Subaru of New England, and maybe other "plow market" regional distributors. I'd really appreciate any pics of the mounting, especially up on the spare tire deck under the hood.
  4. Worse case we all go steal some parts off of the European cars and eBay them for Matt's money. ..or chip in. Same old daily driver '78 4WD wagon for me. '82 GLF if the whole family comes,or another driver. Both registered. Weather, baby, give us nice weather..... If I'm there overnight Saturday I'm racing the wagon!
  5. Put me in for two. If it comes down to needing more I'll take a third. MUST HAVE For any vintage Subarus that are intended to stay on the road for twenty more years.
  6. Join up for the ride down? I'm still not sure if we are going down Friday night or Saturday AM EARLY. ETD from Bridgeport,CT area around 6-8PM if Friday night. ETD " " " " " 5-6AM if Saturday Hope to see some company on the road.If not,we'll see you there. Also, who's camping,or rooming for Friday,and/or Saturday as well? If the weather looks fair I might hit Gifford Pinchot St. Pk. again.
  7. So...what's that mean now? 10 people/cars to go?
  8. What's the deadline for getting the tent with 25 registered club members?? If it looks close we should ask folks to consider donating to the cause by registering even if they can't make it.I'd gladly register one or two more cars.Preferably none as long as 11 people get their rear quarters in gear.:-p
  9. My condolences to you and the family. Ratchet/socket set actually made it to into a box this week.Been thinking about you. Please email or PM your address again, sorry.I'll get that set out for real ASAP. If you decide to put another gov. gear in make it the metal one. Been a tough year all around.I hope things get better for you soon.
  10. OK,update that list. Me-2 cars Andrew- 2 cars Matt Ben Dave Melissa Keith Mike? Jay? Whatshisface The other guy the other other guy.....etc..... Oh,don't forget Scott....... We might not get 25 but we'll all help Matt out with the money he's tossing out so he can keep his skin from becoming red. Now watch,it'll be 45 degrees and overcast all day.
  11. Between the two of us we should be able to get that engime to you.Like I said in the PM see if you can get the guy to bring it here, that'd help a lot.But I'd need it to be here that Friday night,or I have no place to keep it. Keep Matt clothed!!!!
  12. Waaaaaaaaagh. Well, maybe it'll force me into staying over.
  13. I think it's about time somebody made a form and produced some urethane strut top mounts.:-\ ....or find a huge batch of them hiding somewhere.
  14. I'll answer at least some of your questions later.I'm sorry, but I know I don't have the time right now. Later on I'll break out the factory parts manual and clue you in on what should be what. Meanwhile, maybe someone else will help out too. Just saw that you've got many questions and I know you want to get some answers soon.Talk to you later. Paul
  15. Very nice! But I think your about the 1500th person to name their Subaru "Superoo". Let me know if you want to sell the FE incredibly high powered muscle maximizing weapon of mass destruction.
  16. '75 is worth saving. Those shifters are cool. 100% by east coast eh??? :-p
  17. Good luck. So,I guess that tells us exactly how many old badges, etc. the warehouses have left.If SOA isn't supplying those items you have to know that the rest of us will be trying to secure them just as badly. Some badges and tailgate handles, etc. do show up,and occasionally still new stock. But it's getting slim pickin's. Please refrain from multiple listings.Thanks.
  18. well well well......you're leaving the ladies of the world alone enough to post now. Good to see you back around. Git yer butt down there, boy! Everyone: Read the post if the Meet 'n Greet forum......you knew that.
  19. I completly agree. There's some small shop not far from anywhere that'll make it solid.Forget about making the underside to perfect factory restoration.Phooeeyy!!Make it solid and coat it with tar. You're in VT!!! Get some more miles out of that thing.Main thing is to keep it going, and enjoy the heck out of it!! From the sides it'll always look great. Keep some poor guy busy.Take it around or take the pics and see what they'll do for you.Worth a shot,to me. If you just simply don't want to bother for any reason I'm sure one of us would consider it.
  20. See my '78 unrestored for the last time!!!!!!! Sure would like to see some folks check in or announce that they won't be making it.... Keep in mind I might need a second driver if someoone around my way wanted to go but not want to take their car,etc...
  21. I think we should forget about feeding each other and just make sure you're covered. If you want to bring something then just be prepared to take some home or toss it if there's not enough folks. I'll make it for Saturday, almost 100% sure about that.It might be me alone,or another driver with my second car,or a family event.TBD It's been a tought year for a lot of us.A good year to shove far behind us too.Let's just get a good core group there. Most of us know each other as far back as Pine Barrens Sept. 2001,and some even way earlier from my place in Milford. To me,getting a good bunch together is a good accomplishment.Trying to drag every northeastern person out is a huge chore.Folks are just not as warm and friendly up here, let's face it. By now they should have tucked their attitude away for the spring.:-p ***We can pass a hat for Matt's lost deposit.***
