  1. I can't remember what the name of the place is where Jesse works. There's a campground around back, just down the hill. Is the old man retired yet or what?? Last I knew his wife was having some problems. You guys were just in the process of getting the addition workable. What's left up in the loft?? I got the plow he had,but he never was able to find the brouchure and install info he was sure he had for me.I'll manage when the time comes, but it'd have been nice if he had that brouchre, etc. And,the big question.....will they ever give up the 360 pickup???? By the way,I'm pretty sure you already know the guy with the ff-1.He's also around Holmgrens,or at least used to be,for parts, etc. Got anything vintage of your own? I wonder if we met when I was up there.First time I came up in my '78 4WD wagon....then in a rented truck, ready to take home the tons of stuff the parts guy was told to unload....then he disappeared and the old man got involved....then I got to come back and go through the loft.THAT was fun!I walked out the first time with a heap of goodies, then the second trip I scored well but he told me he wanted to deal the whole lot,no more little trips...then after keeping in touch, but a lapse of communication for a couple of months he tells me there's someone taking stuff in little bits and sellnig them on eBay.Well, that's exactly what he didn't want me to do back when,so I didn't pursue further.I went nuts up in that loft for at least one full day of time setting stuff aside, writing part numbers,etc....but I guess I just have to be glad I got the stash that I did. There's some nice 80's wheels up there too that I'd love to get. I'm going to send an email or PM right now.Check it please, before you reply. Thanks
  2. Maybe. Do you ever get over to Holmgren's? I got some greal old stock out of there but I think most of the really good stuff is gone.He didn't have much left for 70's once I got out of there. I'm pretty much tied into Dan Perkins,ONLY because they have two of the best parts guys going, anywhere.I get a good discount like the shops too.Otherwise Dan Perk's is a lousy shop in my opinion. It's just the core of the organization.Great location, lots of stock, but not so great sales/admin. folks. Do you know Jesse from the small (sort of Subaru specialist)shop in Canterbury?
  3. Thanks! If someone goes please post if you'll grab some parts for me and I'll pass along a short list.I'll gladly toss you some money and meet you for the parts if you're not too far from NJ/Philly or the northeast corner of PA. The "Turbo triangles" sound like keepers, same for any good turbo EA82 axles.I could also use some good exhaust for the same.Need rear two pieces but would buy all if in great shape. That's good enough for now.If there's some good matching rubber on a good set of any type 13" wheels I'd like a set.
  4. The '76 should have been a revised engine without the sleeves.Did he buy that new?
  5. Follow the board, check for a meet in CT and maybe we'll get you a look at my friend's cars.Sorry,I've had a few weird experiences with some new folks lately I'd rather see you, meet you, etc. before passing along info and sending you somewhere. The guy with the ff-1 is a treasure himself.Get to know us and you'll probably get to know him too. He's not a board member.
  6. This isn't "jemmy's" place is it? First East Coast meet of the year???
  7. Just sent a PM to you. I'm going to pass on this one.We figure to go to MD but might not make it to NC for a while yet. Still for sale! Extra for the front end protector. How much you need for that front guard from grampa??Sure looks nice.
  8. Foxxy,I like that.Good luck with it Melis!!! Hope to see you again soon. BTW,the lady who owned this car....she's a fox. ...so are you Melis.
  9. Southpaw eh??? That's me with my first love in my right hand and my thirsty sidekick Cresona Dave.
  10. Thanks for the pics but it's still hard to tell. The 60k car I sold Andrew shows about the same on the outside. Worn brake/gas/clutch pedals are a good sign of age.Same for the seats and seatbelts. From that pic I'd say it's not a well cared for 28k that's for sure.
  11. Going to be a tricky weekend for me,we'll see.
  12. Mr. Beetree, sir, please leave the Historic Forum to posts pertaining to the actual vintage Subarus. I'm going to leave this so you see it,hopefully, and others as well. Then I'm going to go through the forum and do some cleaning up of posts that are "double" or just don't fit. Please don't be offended.I'll attempt to keep posts active that are still open for contribution. I will call you very soon and try to get an idea of what you have with the Brat.I have my kids and am cooking, etc. so right now I'm a little busy to get into a phone conversation. On a side note,I run a shop at a fence/outdoor products company.I was just the carpenter but now I run the shop.We make the custom high end stuff and do the chainlink and occasional stockade crap too.I'm supposed to start doing some welding but we do have a guy to do that and I'm still very busy with the wood end of things. The guy that owns our shop is from your neck of the woods. Again, please try to keep each forum from posts that don't really pertain to them. Thanks for your understanding.
  13. Thoroughly immersed in vintage Subarus....you gotta love Subaru3!!!! I've had that part in my hand, years ago.But only Todd would recall that so quickly.
  14. clutch fork cover,timing hole cover....and the other I have to think about for a minute....maybe longer.:-p
  15. Gee,what happened??? I was having some fun going back and finding names of folks.I know i'm going to hit 20 states....just need one more.
  16. Mick,Can you post a pic of those lugnuts? Naturally,if I have extra you get the call.
  17. Tough call. I paid $150 for one from Qman but it was all there, looks decent. Then wagonpowah sort of ripped me at the same price because he didn't say it was missing linkage and also didn't have an aircleaner...then when it got here it had a bent fitting that ONLY goes on these dual carbs so I need to hunt that down now,or make a solution. The market consists of like 6 people, maybe. The handfull of old Subaru sickos. For sure $50 is great...might go $75 but I personally have a tough time with $100 if not looking much better and complete. Sure is cool to show off once one of us gets it done and makes it look real pretty.I figured a dual K & N or something to make it look slightly trick.
  18. That seems the only way they show up.Going to be interesting, and probably painful in some way to get these looking like new with all the right hardware. I'm also WAY interested in the lugnuts, and any centercap that may apply. I think I own at least two full sets of these.Sorry,I'm not selling any untill I know for sure that I don't need some. That'll probably be a few years when I expect to be somewhat completed with the restorations.
  19. Just sent email and PM I'll call you a little later in the day.
  20. Come on guys,we're all from the rust zone here. He's asking about WRX's,so I doubt he'll want an EA81 anything, plus how many are left around? For what he already owns I'd have to resist preaching from the heart.Otherwise I'd join in with the EA81 guys. Already owning 2 of the most dutiful vehicles and asking about a WRX I'd say you're looking for a little thrill. If you've got the money then go for it,get the WRX.
  21. uhh, thanks for the advice but we're not talking about Maine or your neck of the woods. This is south Jersey and there really isn't much logging going on right now, trust me.If you knew what the Pine Barrens was like you'd understand. But thanks for your concern. Also there's plenty of turn offs.I'm extremely familiar with the trails now and I can't think of a spot where there's no pull over access for anywhere near a mile.I'm thinking our friend in NJ took that Chevy can,I mean van, down the logger's trail a few years back,at least. Road names?? Nah,no road names there. You'd be smart to get the topographic map in this place.I paid the $15 or whatever it was and I swear it's the BEST way to navigate since there's no signs and little in the way of landmarks to get your bearings. Last time we were there my son and I were there on Sunday after BlueBaja,LeakingOil,and hocrest went home on Saturday night. We found trails we'd missed and were able to find our way around super easy with the map and the sun in the sky. But Frank (BlueBaja)is an excellent guide and kept the speeds REAL interesting!! We were haulin' hyde on Saturday! We ate so much dust it was insane.
  22. Right on John! I know both of you guys are high on my list of folks I'd like to see when we get out west.Crab legs and Subaru parts....mmmmmmm.
