  1. Lots of interest......no money to cover the shipping.
  2. The relay I had to swap (for blower motor) is a metal cylinder located left of the steering wheel under the dash.I believe the blower motor relay is the one with the large diameter blue wires going to it.Check the prongs when you pull the relays off.If it's shorted one of the prongs will be burnt.
  3. That price is amazing. Is it showing up at your door or do you have to pick it up? I agree, that's the real way to go.Start with the most solid body/structure you can get.
  4. Ray,Despite what my email said, that '75 is probably still available. It's sort of on hold for me,but let me talk to him about it. I saw it geez, must be two years ago at least, and it was fairly solid, but had surface rust underside. Not really a typical CT waste, but it'll need a rotiserie job because you'll want to freshen up the underside.Solid enough rockers to work from and the unibody front horns were solid at the low curve. It was in a garage then, but I don't think it was kept indoors all of the time since,so who knows what the condensation did or didn't do. I think we all need to meet at this guys place.Best solution.I'll make the arrangements, you guys hang tight. He has an ff-1 wagon that runs and drives, the '75 coupe,a couple, etc. '78-9 wagons and sedans, and lots of EA81 vehicles, and right up to the Legacy.
  5. No owner's manual to refer to? Tranny-Dexron-the red stuff. Front dif.-I've used Castrol,Quaker State,etc.....depends on your temperature. For you,I guess 85W,check around at the auto parts store,etc... Brakes-same deal,I've used the better of the common brands.Never use Walmart B/S,NEVER!!! I'd say you don't need any "special" fluids.
  6. Those look fabulous. How much was shipping? Maybe I can get Santa to cover one for me.
  7. FAR ABOVE, LEFT: The Subaru's "engine room" now accommodates the main drive motor, several batteries, and various system controls. ABOVE, LEFT: The engine and generator fit comfortably in the trunk. ABOVE, RIGHT: MOM's hybrid hits the road! http://www.motherearthnews.com/library/1980_September_October/Mother_s_Own_Hybrid_Car_ http://www.motherearthnews.com/Alternative_Energy/1993_June_July/1993_Update__Dave_Arthur_s_Amazing_Hybrid_Electric_Car
  8. Wow,this past weekend would have been perfect, but oh well.Subaru and us folks were made for lousy weather anyways. Gas I can charge, and I can lunchbox the day through,so I'm able to swing the ride any Saturday except this one.A Sunday might work too,but Saturday is probably best for everyone. Kick it around.
  9. Possibly going to PA to pick up the turbo wagon...Sunday.Details may or may not follow. Can't do Saturday and I'm slummin' for dough for the yards anyway.
  10. I'll gladly retrieve it in NJ at the docks. somebody just pay for it for me.........waaaaaagh!!!!
  11. Hatchsub, I was just in Guilford yesterday and will probably go back up this week, maybe even tomorrow night. There's a free '87 EA82 but it has the carb.,not SPFI.If you'd like anything that I don't want you're welcome to it.Can't yank the engine or tranny unless you're superquick. My tow guy friend hates to waste time.Outside chance you could follow us back and get anything large out of it,but we can't do it in Guilford. The car is an '87 GL wagon with the D/R 5spd.Engine runs but was a little oily and not what I'd call excellent....but it ran.Exhaust leaks, interior had wicked mildew smell.
  12. I'll be tossing something together for an EA82 wagon soon. Check dumpsters at office parks for drawer slides, pulls, etc. if you're looking for ultra cheap/free materials. Personally,I'm going to make a pull out work bench that'll have a fold down support leg and be able to handle a miter saw.I'm going to make the rear cargo area pretty much all wood with side boxes,etc......someday.
  13. The engine would be nice for any 76-79 owner!! There might be a slight change from '78 to '79 since there's a different part number for the '79. FE's are a fine example of what the industry SHOULD have been doing for the last 25 years. The engine is an EA71,for sure. Is the carpet blue too?
  14. Anyone even remotely interested who has space to keep it should serously look into this.Fuel Efficient, simple to work on,brakes are same as EA81,the list goes on.And the engine can always be passed on to any other vintage owner. Thanks for posting,Shawn.
  15. Yup,that's him.Tom in VA got the wagon. Not sure where it is now.
  16. Coolski, thanks!! As for the turbo wagon,I'd need to do it on the weekend for sure.I'll even drive up and meet the car, then call the next AAA haul out and drive along with them to B'port. Talk to you soon.
  17. Wondering if your so toast on your birthday that you forgot about this one. Where's Rory these days?Did you run into him at his shop? Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Also, there is a guy who still sometimes pops in on the board who had a Subaru engined trike built here in CT.I believe the guy who built it also comes by this board once in a great while,or has at least once.Kind of like Jerry's friend where they used an EA81 but I think this one used a 2WD Automatic,if I recall correctly. Here's his avatar- "dritchie" is his board name. He'd have some advice for you too. Here's the full size shot: Here's some post threads Don (dritchie) started: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24179 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19011 Good luck.Let us know how you do with it.
  19. There's an elderly man who does drive his sedan here.Other than people reporting of them,I doubt there's any 360 driver's here on this board.
  20. Rory is a board member and an excellent guy!! He lifted an '84 wagon before ever even finding this board. He's a true Suba-rebel.And he throws one heck of an annual bash!!!Connie can probably hear it from her house. Connie,I was right by your house twice lately and still didn't come by to get the fender. But it was getting late so I didn't want to disturb you.Last night I was in Bethel untill 2:30AM helping my buddy get the baby's room ready.Mom and baby come home today!!!I hung some doors and helped out with little details. It's a little too late and money too tight to give Rory some work right now,but for sure I'll be thinking about him as the man to go to come springtime. Connie,I'm wondering if I/we can ask a favor of you.Once upon a time,Andrew and I went to retrieve a car from PA.Andrew balked and the car is in Scranton. We'd like to have AAA pick it up and drop in at your place for just a few hours.(within the 100 miles my AAA Plus account allows). Then we'll call AAA for the second run down to my house.I meant to call you but I was sick most of yesterday and then life got in the way. If your place isn't good, maybe you can recommend a spot.We need to cover that 100miles and Danbury is right about the limit.Talk to you soon.
  21. Well, that Datsun sure is nice but it's a tough choice. If your 360 to trade was not a van or pickup the Datsun would rule.Having a 360 van is something mighty special. How many other people have an oversized toaster that rolls? Seriously,it's a tough choice,to me.Good luck.
