  1. Nope, was my own idea. Have some fishing gear ready for me so I don't have to bring it all.
  2. Dude, you're 19 and in the Carolinas....up here when you get a little older and money is tighter you might want to do things just to stretch the life of a car a little longer. I'm not saying that's something I prefer to do,but it can be done. And with about as much effort as making pretty little caps for you portholes. The point is to just lift an intake and stuff a good block underneath.Call it what you want but if it works for a while, why not? We're talking about cars that are disappearing from the roads up here faster than you can say "the sherriff's got the best moonshine around". Some states have serious emissions standards as well.Lack of equipmnet is an automatic failure.Bye bye to a day of effort for lack of a few minutes more of effort.
  3. That's the one I was looking for.So I did give that to you in your load of XT stuff then.... Pat,if you can send it to Noah, that'd be great. Noah, you got a super deal on that tranny, please cover Pat for the shipping. WagonsOnly probably would have kicked my butt if we weren't the good friends that we are.(to the rest of you.....don't ask! )
  4. What,no picture of the little guy bench pressing the car with the jackstands hidden???? Bye Bye wagon, see you back as a washer/dryer combo!!!
  5. Intake manifold gaskets, for one thing. Does the new engine have both pumps on it? As long as the rear of the engine exposed you might as well do the rear main seal.Infact,do both the front and rear.Clutch kits are on eBay fairly cheap.
  6. One vote for 360-'79 + to '81 Brat Forum. I have yet to look at the other "New" forums here like Off Roading,Mod,Retro,etc... ...all don't mean a thing to me,sorry, but that's me,and that's you.
  7. Congrats guys! Let me know when you need a guest speaker at your meet.My fee is simple, just buy my plane tickets. Crab legs and salmon!!!
  8. But you can indeed swap a carb'd block under an SPFI delivery.Just block the ports. I've never done the oposite but my guru 30+ year Subaru man says you can, just drill out the port and I believe the threads are there in all SPFI heads.Correct me if I'm wrong on that someone, please.
  9. Oh,I do have a first Gen Brat. It's up at Subafreak's place to be parted out, unfortunately.Let me know what you need when the time comes. What ever happened to you '82 wagon? Email if you can,or call if you still have the number.Nights and weekends are best.Cheers!
  10. Hi Trudy, good to see you back in action. Is this the blue one in VT? I think it was listed for $1000. I was really considering it but it's just not the right time for me to take something like this on.But dang dog dooodley,I sure was tempted.....good luck sweety. Take care, Paul
  11. If you don't get a response by tomorrow I'll try to bring home one of my manuals and scan it for you.
  12. If you are planning on swapping engines you can lift the intake off with all the hoses attatched and place it where the spare tire deck is,then swap the longblock. You can use a later engine with Single Port Fuel Injection, just drill out the EGR ports on the exhaust ports(we'll help you through when it's time). You might have a harder time finding a carb'd engine but don't let that hold you back. If you have the Dual Range 5speed on demand 4WD tranny it's worth keeping going for sure. Many of us here will have parts for you at very reasonable prices. Good luck with it.
  13. I saw you bidding on these you listed below.I thought I sent you a set for '73?? Anyhow,I have most FSM's from 1971-1984 and then a few others like '88,89,maybe another one or two.
  14. Oh,one more thing. I wonder how she would have managed dealing with Pat in Moxee? Rip roaring laughter!!!!! OK,now it's the End of Story.
  15. Oh my freakin gawd!!!! Look what I started. Here's the nutshell deal. She became interested in my '73 when it was still in Moxee,WA.She did not communicate with me and I was interested first but needed to confirm with Pat that he could hold it for a while.JT wrote some less than lovely lines here because she felt.....well,I'm still not sure, but she felt I should have known she was racing in the desert (so desert races take 3 weeks???)and that she was unable to communicate. Well,my crystal ball had been down and I kind of dropped out of Mind Reading 101,so I had no idea where she was.All I did was ask for her to communicate and you'd thought I'd asked her to ...... (insert your favorite sex act). She took a good couple of shots at me but I went on as gentlemanly as I could, believe it or not. But,that didn't seem to sit too well with her anyways. I got the car!She got the redish hair and decent enough body.Personally, she's just not what I would call the best of the bunch in that "election for erection". Apologies to Ed and anyone else who supports her.I'm very good at reading faces and she's cold to me.That's a half smile if I ever saw one.Totally lacks warmth. But,to some men in this country she's probably desireable. If someone is upset that I included some opinions here, well,go back and find the posts where she lays into me. End of story.
  16. Or Moosens...... Yup,GF looks like a Celica, sort of Mustangish too...add rear louvers and it's a real headturner. Very fun car!
  17. No Dave,it was on at 9PM here. What I saw bit.Just not for me.But if you're into the American cars or bikes with "much chrome" (gag!,cough...) then it was a proper teaser to get you to reserve your hotel in Harrisburg for this summer's shindigs. Gee,I thought for sure Scott would have paid them to film his Brat.
  18. Good luck Flowie.I had no idea about all this wedding stuff. Can someone show me the link that explains what the day will be like, etc?
  19. oops, sorry,I got some message from the Board about not filling in enough info, blah blah blah...and now I can't seem to delete one of the posts.
  20. Cars at Carlisle....we were there for the Import/Kit show last May.I just tuned in and missed the first 20+ minutes. We want to see Skip in his Brat go-kart!!!
  21. I just tuned in,missed the first 20+ minutes. They're showing "Cars at Carlisle".I was wondering if they filmed any of us at the Import/Kit show last May. They'd be total losers not to show Skip in his go-kart Brat.
  22. ASV= Air Suction Valve,I believe. I've also gotten loud shotgun backfire with a hole in the exhaust and timing dead on.
  23. How about that governor? Sorry if I missed anything.I kind of lost track of your other post.
