Back yard ghetto cylinder head resurface

You could roll any sheet of most anything flat to the stone/glass with a roller like making a countertop. -
New Roo home safe and sound!

Bummer,I believe I just tossed a grey rear seat.If it's still there I'll let you know. Yo Steve, did you call me yesterday? -
http://www.pineypower.com/ http://www.state.nj.us/pinelands/ http://www.njpinebarrens.com/ http://www.nps.gov/pine/ Where we meet is firstly at the Red Lion Diner at the intersection of rts. 70 and 206.You'll get off exit 7 of the NJT'pike and head south.Naturally, you're welcome to meet up with me and attack en force. The Diner is about 20 minues from the exit. After a morning feed,we head south for another 10-15 minutes to Atsion-where there's a ranger station and large grassy area/parking. There's another off road spot down the road as well in back of Atco drag strip.Gotta love the noise.

Same method only upside down....use a nice piece of granite held down to a table and the same spray adhesive or double sided tape to hold the emery cloth down. Cheap granite pieces can be has at your local stone/tile shop....check the dumpster.I've gotten mine off of jobsites when the rich and famous toss out thousands of dollars worth of granite countertops. A machine shop going out of business will also have perfect tables for you, used for checking tolerances and squareness, etc. They'll be a little more pricey, but perfect. Ghetto, but effective enough for the backyard,mega-mile Subaru. Stone(the right ones) won't crack as quick as glass. And it won't warp as glass does too. -
Yup,still there, still worth the drive east too.I'll buy you a truck stop date for the night. JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!! Mary, quick as in before my wife loses it and shoots me.Like that.Actually, the pain of it all has us numbed right now.But we do need to make the big push.Must sell home, must buy home, mosy eliminate what just won't be worth keeping and moving.Sooner I can wrap up the workshop the better. We were thinking of getting a basic storage hole and condensing into that what would eventually go into the house/garage.Now I'm just so busy that moving things twice or more seems like facing a year in prison.I think we're just going to pay the big bucks for another month or so and hope for the best. Jesse, you're having fun,I'm not. That's the plan. One of these days we need to attack that gen I Brat of mine.I was thinking of paying you to finish my turbo wagon and remove the parts I want off that Brat. We'll talk.I can have AAA drop off the wagon. You can take your time, but hopefully,I'd like it back fairly soon.

NOT FAIR!!!! You're in freakin Florida.....and it's not warm enough to ride yet?Bike week in just a few weeks. Be thankful you don't live here. Sorry to hijack......hey,I finally found the stuff but haven't tried it yet. I also picked up another product of theirs.Damned if I can remember what it is but come springtime I'll be giving it a shot. All those hip west coast cats use the stuff, must be good, right?

Saturday night, the usual.I'll be there. If I get some help I'll do some real moving, etc.Otherwise I'll plug away as I can. I really need to ship a set of jumpseats and an A-bar. I'll be up there every weekend later in the evening,if not most of the day for the rest of the month.Everything needs to happen fast now.Got a dumpster anybody?

And the guy met us at Pine Barrens (south Jersey) and went 4wheelin with us. I have to confess,I have no idea what Canadian 2-2-2's are but I'm guessing they're about one quarter strength of the 8-8-8's we popped back in the late 70's,early 80's......Strictly for medicinal puposes,of course. I'd say to do as folks mentioned, better to have a slightly large care kit than one that falls short at the wrong time,in the wrong place, etc. There's foil duct tape, even better than the regular but not a bad idea to have both. The foil type can really save your skin.Excellent quick water seal, and heat resistance all in one. Lightbulbs, hoses, belts, tools, blanket, map of truck stops..... Just ask NorthWet,he's the Ultimate Trans-USA victim,er uhh, warrior. He's done it all,and he just did it recently. And I thank him dearly!!

Something a little closer to you would be 67 Motors on Rt.67 just heading out of Winston/Salem. Keep me in mind if you see any 70's Subarus there. When we were in W/S a few years ago there were still some older ones around.More near Boone and a good amount near the college towns-Raleigh Durham.

I'm curious about this as well.Just got a rust free carb'd wagon-1987. I think it's a question of fuel presssure. If I recall rightly, the tank is more pressurized?Or the pump runs at a higher preessure? That being the case, the next Q would be,Can I just swap in an SPFI pump and then proceed to swap the intake system? I've got the perfect donor car for the repairs needed and conversion if possible.

EA71 Blown Head gasket symptoms?
moosens replied to tscinmd's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Is it kind of off white, creamy?Under the oil filler cap too? Most likely needs headgaskets. But if you really like the car, have those heads resurfaced, checked thoroughly, valve grind, new headgaskets, fresh exhaust gaskets, and drive comfortably for a long time. -

Can be done one car. See if you can find you older dealership and talk to the older techs. The Service Dept. might even let you borrow,or have the tools required. It's nice to have the alignment tool and special socket, but you can indeed get by without them. You might be able to get the dealer to procure the headgaskets. If not, you'll find decent aftermarket ones, sometimes Subaru's own,on eBay. If you're in a pinch and can't wait I can sell you a set.I also have a complete engine re-seal kit if you want to go hog wild. Email me or use the PM if you need anything for the EA71. Paul -
Nice addition Melis! So uhh,I don't know what date yet.To me just about any Saturday/Sunday afternoon,evening...... Last couple of times I left there like 2:45/3:45 AM so maybe this time I'll make breakfast for everybody. Here's what I have to do.Just so you guys know, and maybe you might want to help one of the "jobs",per your preference. *****If anyone wants to come up and help me with any one of these projects just email me,etc. and I'll gladly accomodate as best as possible. i.e.,you want to help on a mechanical project but not play moving man? That works for me.Come down some weeknight if possible. '87 Turbo wagon needs to be buttoned up.Engine and tranny are in and bolted together. The rest needs to be hooked up. I'd like to roll the '73 out.I should be back in digital camera mode this weekend, but either way, somebody can take some pics for folks to check out in the gallery.Gotta clean it out and give it the first detailing. Then take assesment of what it needs, what I can make better, etc. While the car is out,it'll be back to the process we left off at.Boxes, nothing but boxes.....toss out the trash, organize the stock to keep, this time actually start tagging the box too. Got too late last time. There's a set of brat jumpseats to ship, and an A-bar too. I might get two wagons together(I already own both)and do a swap/part out, make one excellent runner.....that sort of thing. One car has a supposed rust free body(not the turbo, another wagon) but needs a wheel swap on the passenger side. That's the hub,axle,linkage,strut....so its drop everything and fill in the blanks. Thanks for any help or consideration. I'm going to dinner with the wife and kids right now.But I'll be up there later if anyone wants to call or come by. Cheers!

Please educate me on EA82 wagons.
moosens replied to cole098's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I took a ride to see if quickly.Nice D/R 5spd,dark red(maroon) w/grey int. Clean. The kid wasted the pass. front wheel support, etc. Good car otherwise. You'll only need a few hours at the most to swap over what it needs. After that you're all set.I'll be able to post pics this weekend. -
Hey man, where in CT are you? Apparently you might be selling one Brat to another board member who wants me to try to go by and check it out for him. Feel free to email.Click on my name and use either PM or email. I'm in Bridgeport and Milford.

Joe,I've got a line on something you might want to check out. It's supposedly rust free with a detailed log of every oil change, part installed,etc.etc.....including gas calculations, all reciepts.....so if you're interested give me a call, email,or whatever.Of course,a car like this could end up in my stable. Then I'd gladly cut you a deal on my Touring wagon w/D/R 5spd. -

Joe,you want an '88 D/R 5spd.It's worth looking into ones in New England and NY because they offfered the D/R more often up here. Not many left up here though. -
Funny kid,but I'm trying to do the same thing.I' hoping to sell the '84 wagon and maybe the Brat too.Get my '87 Turbo wagon back in action and make that a keeper since it's from the southwest,no rust. Don't worry,we'll regret it someday.hahaha

moosens replied to moosens's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Hoping the guy who emailed me about Brat jump seats sees this. Honestly,I just can't reply or use several functions in Yahoo mail right now. Can't wait to get my next PC. Moderators, thanks for letting this live in the general forum.Trust me,there's a good amount of people from this board who are in the middle of some deal,or asking about parts, cars, old girlfriends,etc.... -
