  1. Wait a minute......I'm a total chump here.I will put the guy up.I honestly was thinking of that,so I'm only half chump. But I owe the guy that favor for sure. There's a decent enough hotel right across from the workshop.skip and Steve stayed there, then Skip and his buddy.....whatshisname stayed there. They've gotten the smell of Rolling Rock out of the carpet by now,so it's safe. Switching gears here,I totally forgot Iowa so he won't be here untill Saturday most likely,as long as things go well. Thanks for offering guys!!!!
  2. Let's see.....Wed. the upper plains,Thurs. the Ohio valley, looks like you're going to have one hell of a good time since you'll hit here on the weekend.Man,I wish I had room for you, maybe i can just let you use the workshop,I've got plenty of padding, super duper sub zero sleeping bags. There's no heat because I don't use the place that much,etc,etc....But there's a toilet, sink, coffee maker, small fridge, microwave, and a half dozen places to eat just a walk away, and hundreds of places to eat nearby. I hear there's going to be a big drop in temps this weekend after the warm spell. You'll be headed back through the chill, but it's January. Talk to you soon.
  3. Mick,I can send you a set for practice if you'd like. I haven't forgotten about that other thing you needed..... .......uhhhh,blue D/R 5spd shifter console???? just hasn't popped out of the heap yet.
  4. Got a PM from him at Russ's place.Trailer lights wasted,he got a new rig up at Waldomart, should be ok now......I hope. It's snowing here but should hit 60 degrees on Thursday....go figure.Roads aren't too bad on the shoreline. Pat,be careful bud.Main highways are fine according to the Weather Channel......at least in the northeast, along I-80,I-84
  5. That's what your trip is really all about, meeting people, taking a little time and enjoying it.I really hope you are enjoying it.Too often I find myself not able to relax as much or as long as I should because I have that itch to always get onto the next thing to do. No hurry on my end.The longer you take the better. If you get here Friday that'll be really great. We can really throw a hell raisin' hootinanny(spell check me,I'm a city boy dammit).Or if it's Saturday or Sunday I sure won't cry. Safety and enjoyment first.I know you'll get here so please don't rush on my account. Happy bathing! Cheers
  6. Pat,been trying to call you.I guess you're in a dead zone.....a big dead zone. Riddles aside, everything okie dokie after Spokie? Wears shorts.....hmmmm.....I did a knuckleheaded parting of an XT last night untill about 3:15AM.....got to sleep around 4,got up at 6:30.....so riddles are a little mind boggling right now.
  7. Boone-a fine spot for Subarus! See any 70's Subies left down there?Last time I was in the area....oh about 4 plus years ago,we saw a nice little '76 DL.
  8. Rob,Ed,Ken,Eric, all those west coast cats are the bee's knees.
  9. .......nah,ain't happenin'.But that sure would be an appropriate prize for you! :-p Hmmmm, maybe a choice of "prize du jour" or my personal, personalized selection. SpoCaine prize du jour-a handfull of the Subaru promo stuff from BajavwSubiemasteroftheuniverse, etc, etc, etc's bag before if goes west.Sorry J,it's for a good cause. You'll still get cool stuff, don't fret. Hey locals, stop by and help me Sunday afternoon/evening if you can.Parting XT.....maybe some small repairs, whatever looks good to do,but definitely need the XT the heck out of here once and for all.Pat,be sure to give me a list again of what you need from that thing next time we talk. Thanks
  10. OK,let's see what I can offer.Well, for sure there'll be something for just about anyone who guesses, except the "New Gen/Legacy,Impreza" folks, but who cares about them anyways? Guess closest to the minute Pat arrives and win something.I'll see who the winner is and apply an appropriate prize.Like if Miles Fox wins I'll send him some roadkill. I'm cracking myself up here.....j/k Miles. But you guys know what I mean.I'll make it Subaru parts, not nonsensical garbage like most of you deserve. Allrightythen.......he's not going anywhere tonight due to some delays. So for Sunday night, when will he arrive in Spokiedokie?(Spankain)a.k.a.Spokane,WA. Now,who's the person in Spokie again? Please submit proper time as close as you can.Don't make me double check with Pat now,be honset.I know we'd all like to win some of my junk,I mean uhh wonderful parts....but let's be fair and let the games begin. Just kidding about the junk.I only keep good junk.
  11. I talked to both Pats.Pat the driver is probably going to crash at home tonight and get a fresh start early tomorrow. Who's taking bets on when Waldo reaches the resting place of Tom Thumb and P.T. Barnum? Perhaps a fun little pool for this?Look for my post soon.
  12. Yeeeehaaaaa!!!!! But......Mudrat,you forgot my wheels??????????????? Tire store.....dumpster.....wheel boxes.....FedEx Ground.......be a good guy and make my day........sometime this year would be ideal.Sometime this month would be nearly unbelievable, but certainly acceptable. Thanks man. I saw your cousin, uncle, whatever he is to you,Scott today.Quick visit, got my plow from behind his garage, didn't talk too much but he's doing well. Thanks to all of you and good luck on your own transactions.Jason,I hear you sent some nice west coast rust along. J/K,thanks,they'll get used for something. |
  13. Connie,I'm guessing he didn't get to see this.He worked late, slept about 5 hours and then started getting ready for the journey, meeting folks all over the place and getting to Moxee. Let's hope for a nice day/night when he gets here too. Hey Connie,if you see this tonight I'm going to up at my place if you want to hang out.
  14. Way to go guys! Keep the event annual and I'll bet a few of us up here will make the trip soon. Have fun!
  15. ......ahhh,but your show isn't a national show.Carlisle isn't competitive,at least not for us and the majority. It's a big show, and a good location that's central to the majority of east coast owners. Moving into a new house might take some wind out of our sails this year.Regardless,I'll probably run down Saturday for the day and drive home after pigging out with the crew. We'll see what happens. You all know I want my '73 there, pulled by the '78 of course. If we do make it a family weekend we might do like last year.Any other families that want to hit Heshey on Sunday, that's our plan.Arrive Friday night,Carlisle on Saturday,Hershey on Sunday, leave for home from there. All up in the air for us right now. I've got a real cool plan....secret plan.....but I don't think I can make it happen this year.I think I can get Dennis to help me.Maybe someone else too.Going to need three Brats to pull it off. OK,to dream,my Brat pulls my '73,my friend drives my turbo wagon pulling my '78 wagon, the wife brings here Legacy wagon and says "you have a good time with your friends and I'll keep the kids busy all weekend". Dreaming!!!!!!!!!
  16. Can someone archive this for me/us? I'm stuck in the mud borrowing this Mac laptop. Thanks very much. My year end contribution to the USRM. Happy New Year everybody!
  17. Bumping this up. Just curious, has the Mudrat run been arranged and confirmed? Come on guys, where's all the 70's stuff you all talk about? J/K I know it's a bad time of the year.
  18. Hey up there in Nova Scotia!!!!!! moosens,as in moose Nova Scotia. You might find us in residence in NS someday.Halifax is a nice little city! Best to score out west and pay the man for the transport.Unless you can do it yourself.I've got lots of parts and a few engines.Feel free to email me.I go back to around '72 through '79's.My '73 coupe is coming from Washington in a couple of weeks! I'm curious as to why you don't need mechanicals.Going super sleeper? Take care, Paul
  19. Yeeehaaa, city four wheelin'!! My '78 has barely touched dirt all its life, sad to say. So,when I got it I took it to our local open space where kids ride dirtbikes and ATVs for a baptism.
  20. ......... What, and miss the snowfalling on my face as I look up lying on the floor of a car with moldy carpet? There will be room very soon.I'm putting the '73 in there for sure.
  21. I'll try to put all the info on the first post so anyone can just print the first page(s). Basically,it took me about 6 hours but I could have done it a couple of hours quicker. It was cold, snowing(just after I started and I had no idea snow was coming).I also took a break to eat and relaxed/got warm for a few minutes several times. In good weather, when this job SHOULD have been done,it'd take 4 hours, just like my local Senior Master Tech told me. I think if you print my instructions and read them beforehand you'll be more set up and more knowledgeable when happening upon certain situations. So,that should shave some time off for the next guy. My big problem was that I chased stuff around at the end.Like having the 2 connectors reversed.Should have seen my face when I realized I was engaing the started by hitting the high beam lever! Won't make that mistake again. Please make sure this gets archived.Just give me a little time to make the original post complete.I just want to add a couple of things.....a little later.Have to work now.
