  1. I wish more people were interested in the PA yard run we were going to do,once upon a time. I'm so busy there's no way I can swing it now.See you in the spring!
  2. Right Skip, and then the dealers also placed orders for more if they cared to. So,as you may guess, there's probably a few more than 50 out there,or were out there. The dealer in CT that I know has at least one brown one left in his loft.He also told me that he'd sold off at least 4 others that he had before I hit the show.At this point I'd expect the brown one to show up on eBay soon....just a feeling, nothing positive. I'd go for a complete one now if the price was right. But I just don't have time for any projects involving basket cases right now. Good luck,Ken.I've been told that a common mfg. cart fits under there.Nothing too complicated or specialty built.
  3. hahaha,I've got a thing for these white wagons and refridgerators too. Why is it that the newest CT member has a sticker and the original CT member doesn't? I'll have to work on that. Congrats,Connie!
  4. Still bumping........maybe I'll buy a heap of food and you nice folks can come by and help me finish a couple of projects.....just a thought. Plenty of free stuff too. I need to finish my turbo wagon and a few small jobs on any of the other cars. The '78 needs a coolant change and oil change. The '84 needs an oil change and maybe a tune up.Needs belts changed.Needs exhaust shrouds silenced.Probably a short list to go along with it. Turbo wagon needs to be buttoned up from the tranny swap and engine reseal. Touring wagon could use some help.......Tom sawyer Party anyone??? I'll score pizza,Chinese,drive-in,whatever it takes.I know a lot of you would like to come by but can't so just send money. Seriously, please consider lending a hand. It's probably the last gathering at the joint.
  5. Brian, what ever happened to the one that got impounded when the driver was drunk....or something like that?? Man,I'd spend the money on transport for that baby if it's solid underside. But I don't expect A-you to let it go and B-me to have time, space, and extra dough to be tossing into an object right now. Good luck with it.Heck, just let it sit.In a year or so I'll be ready for it. I've got a 1400 engine here, but nothing 1300.I do have some 1300 engine internals from an eBay deal.Valves,seals,etc.... Send some pics of the interior, etc. if you have some time.Gosh,I have such memories of the '73's and '74's.Fading though.Need a refresher course.
  6. Oh no,they're together again......... This state does suck doesn't it?But hey, everybody here makes over $100k/yr.,right????Yeah,I need to go have the polo horse groomed,be right back.
  7. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats.....now I'll go soak my head. Whatcha gonna do with it?
  8. Hopefully they got some kind of payment, who knows, sometimes that happens.A kid Paypal's the money but doesn't have the extra dough to get it back...or doesn't have the balls to bring it home....or.....what I'm getting at is maybe the seller will be satisfied with less if you can get that wad of cash in their hands. Good luck Connie! This weekend is shot for any roadtrip south.Going to Maine on Saturday.Sunday is doubtful. Go for it.Make a bid AND contact the seller. You know the deal.I don't have to tell you how to handle this. You go girl. Don't bid if things are so way tight that it'll take away meals.Mac 'n cheese is no way to live.
  9. Tell the truth, the air dam made all the difference huh? Congrats, and thanks again for the hook up.
  10. Come on people.....it's the Second Coming!!!! As most of the Subaru world knows already,I'm mighty busy right now with ten thousand jobs.....or at least it seems that way.So.....let's try to make a date again. Who's down for the Saturday after Thanksgiving? As of right now I'm scheduled to work but I have a feeling this particular job will be delayed or cancelled.Or,I might even back out of work if there's enough response. Really should be on a sunny day,or at least when it's not raining or snowing. So it'll all depend on the weather.Check details before driving. Locals, get in touch with me if you want to stop by and browse some night. If you like latenights then you're in the door.I'm mostly unavailable before 10-11PM these days.Vampire types welcome.mmmmwahahahahaha..... Check above for some details.Location or the Second Coming of Parts-Milford,CT just off I-95 exit 40.Elvis' second coming will happen right down the street so don't miss it.
  11. Thanks guys. It's been a while since I talked to a rally racer about all this. You just confirmed what he said.'91 Legacy Turbos w/manual 5spd....just like he told me.Thanks again everybody.
  12. Jesse is an actual mechanic for 40+ hours a week and I feel he's top notch. But,he's all the way up at the other end of the state. Paul's has been around for about 10+ years.I used to get pissed that he used the name that he does but that's life.So when.if I ever should open a shop it's have to have a clever name like ........like........like....... Yeah,Paul's has been a Subaru specialist for some time.I wasn't sure he was still around only because he must have cut back on advertising or something.I just haven't seen his/their name mentioned in a while. There's also Ciancola over on Rt.63 just before the tunnel on the Merrit Pkwy.Take a left off the exit and head north towards Naugatuck. It's on the left just about 1/4-1/2 mile from the Merrit. They've been involved with Subarus for a long time too. But,they can be a little pricey.Same for F&S in Waterbury. They are considered Gods of Subarus by most folks who have dealt with Subarus since the 70's,early 80's.They can be very pricey and not the best of personalities. Like Connie said,I'm just way too busy.Under the gun on several jobs and my own home improvements....then there the car jobs....etc.....etc.....etc.
  13. The local yard took out the VLSD on my recomendation. If it works for my Brat I'll see if I can get it.
  14. Any feel of a loss of drive for even a millisecond?Grab the axles at the differential and twist them to check for any play. Also tug on the axle flange in and out, again,up by the diff. No more really great shops in SW CT for Subarus anymore.
  15. Thanks guys but I need to clarify. I want a new panel, not a used one.I've got several used ones but even with no rust they'll still require some topcoat for the minor wear you'd expect from a 20 year old used panel. I'm looking for a price on an NOS fender, aftermarket or SOA issue. This guy at work will cover it.Or I'll cover him, somewhere in the woods. Has anyone bought from Mill Supply? If you guys can come up with the yellow used in 1984 please let me know.I don't have the code handy but I don't recall there being more than one yellow in 1984.It's just like Jimi Hendrix's Stratocaster-mellow yellow we used to call it.
  16. I really want to get my '84 buffed out or at least get a price on the fenders. A guy I work with hit my car many months back and I want to get this evened up once and for all. I need a driver's side fender for an '84 4WD wagon.Mellow yellow if possible.I know a new one comes in primer, but as long as folks are looking I might as well attempt to find somebody's old yeller. If you bought one, ever, please let me know what you paid.Thanks. The guy also tweaked my bumper-causing the plastic cover to pop off.It looks kind of ok but I'll probably swap my spare in.Headlight bezel was also cracked but all of a sudden I've come across about 4 of them at once.Bottom line.....I need a freakin fender,100% fresh.I already have several used fenders, some even king of decent.Nothing 100% though. This car deserves a fresh fender.
  17. I've got a '73 Coupe at Pat's in Moxee that I need to scrape up about $300 more to cover shipping on.Buy some stuff!!!!! What FE?You don't mean the one I already bought from you do you?Now I'm confused....or just toast.Slightly overworked right now.Tonight is my recupe night.Maybe later I'll remember.
  18. Carlisle,PA...they host several car shows at the fair grounds. The Import/Kit Car show is the one we take part in.THis past year was a nice representaion of Subarus in our first year as an organized group....sort of. Always the third weekend in May.Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure about that. Bucky needs no mods right now. What you need are just cool appointments that don't cost much.Stay off the hard stuff or you'll have trouble getting off on Loyales much longer. In other words...it goes from N/A to Turbo,to intercoolers,to superchargers,to lift kits,to transaxles....before you know it you've made a monster that eats you up. You and your car are just fine like they are.A little TLC,for the car,and you'll be just as well off.
  19. here here!!! What a change.T-shirt weather to winter coat weather in less than 18 hours. Dang!We should have sent the ladies for nachos and beer......but you have to go to NY for the beer on Sunday.
  20. Chop the roof, louverd hood, side pipes, fuzzy dice, bobble head dog.....but seriously.....just show up!!!That's all you need to do at Carlisle with our crew.No snobs among us and only one, maybe two folks who actually dump way too much money into their rides. Most of us show up in hack daily drivers or our "Sunday car".
  21. Obviously a follower of the Rev. G.L. Fivespeed whoever this character is.Curse on he who taketh away Connies nearly vintage Subie! Sorry Connie.Like Ken said.......or in my own words "they come and they go,the Bic lighters of automobiles. Well,at least I don't have to go to PA just yet.
  22. .......wimmenz! I just wish the day hadn't taken so much out of me.Don't mention the engine crane being blocked in by a half ton of crap,OK??? I'm surprised my back isn't talking bad words to me.As you guys can see by my getting a phone call at 9:30PM for a roof job,I'm so crazy busy right now it's.......crazy. Too bad I couldn't get there earlier but gotta make hay while the sun shines. Thanks to all of you, especially Dave for getting everything done that you could, and then some(brake exploring..)before I got there. Dave really carried the whole thing.I was about 40%,maybe less, with my lack of enthusiasm, energy, and with my finger being a gushing fountain of red stuff.
