  1. No biggie, they already hate to love me or love to hate me.
  2. WOW!!!!! Will they let me move there? Just emailed you about stuff like everybody else is probably doing. With me it's a blue dashboard I desire, for my '78 4WD wagon, among many things. Oh,one more thing. Is there a split gate,or "tailgate" wagon anywhere to be found for sale? That and a GSR would be cool.
  3. I've got some for you if you need them.Just as long as they don't fit my '78,then I'd have to keep them. I know I have a set of rear windows from a '75 4WD wagon and probably all those rubber gaskets too. As to where to get them.....please let us know when you fine a definite answer.
  4. Keep the rubber, almost every one I ever saw had them. Your bar will be going out very soon. Mick,I have a few sets.Should I send you one to copy? I have "SUBARU","five speed",and might have "four wheel drive" too.
  5. Talk it up boys 'n grrlz. I'm thinking late August....early September? Early September seems better to me right now but I'd love to sometime real soon.Don't make me and my son be the only ones there. We'll be going for sure,so if only a few of us get together that's fine for me.I don't need an "East Coast Meet" or anything too serious right now.Just a nice day in the woods, challenging the Subaru's 4WD and suspension. I'd love to do a PA yard run too.We never got that run in this past spring like a few of us wanted to do.The minor cool snap in the air this week has provoked the mind.Let's have some fun before the snow because once that happens it's all local thrills untill springtime. And,I swear!!!!! I'll bring my Coleman double burner and the venison burgers and sausage...I swear!!!! After Carlisle,I think I'd bring the '78 to PB but wouldn't trash it in the woods.I can probably find another willing driver for my '89 touring wagon-a.k.a. the family truck.
  6. Well,it looks like I've stirred the hive again....sorry guys,it was MY idea...yup,my BIG mouth again....And Rob wants me to cover transportation....hmmmm,I can start stealing boats now and get them all going towards San Diego. We sail the Pacific at noon May 1st 2005!!!!!!That should get us there by July or so.... OK,well it was funny for a minute..... Seriously,I know NZ would be an outstanding destination with or without cars involved. But I think the numbers are here and besides, aren't you all wealthy in NZ?You guys can ship your rides here. We'll gladly escort you upon arrival to the big show.Just kidding....again. Please, take lots of pictures and send them along.Show those old Subarus that have rotted away, for the most part, here. For now I think that's about the best we can do. Now,should we ever get Subaru involved...they could supply a limited amount of cars to use, help with some sponsoring,etc.... Is anyone familiar with Ducati Days? It's a big annual event. You can go ride in Italy, provided you're a registered Duc owner. You pay a fee of course but it's a great package. You can send your bike as well but for folks on our budgets I think paying the fee and beating someone else's ride is king. Subaru would offer trips to the factory...so to add NZ,just a few hundred bucks more I'd think. But most of us have only spent a few hundred bucks on our rides.....hmmm,gotta go sharpen that pencil.
  7. oh look at you hotshot....a couple of weeks of UK and he's talking kilometers....LOL. See you guys.....Andrew,you're not easy to get on the phone.....so call me later today, after 1PM please. Sorry to interupt this post. And speaking of post....where's my postcard?Tasmania????? Proposal to the USMB and Subaru world: World Meet in NZ 2005!!!!!
  8. Correct.I think he listed it last month as well. Scott,I hope the family is in better spirits and all on the upswing. No hurry on the shell as I'm staying there untill at least the end of September...who knows, maybe the rest of the year.
  9. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=128 These are in Mass-a-chew-zits.....Gen I's are FOR SALE,the shell is NOT. The first two pages are mostly the Gen I's and the "glass slipper". THe glass beast is on top of a Ford Bronco set up.A little tough to see the Gen I from Arizona and the glass beauty in the garage. The guy emailed me.He's back to $2500 for just the 2 Gen I BRATs,no shell included.Sorry for the teaser.Apparently he's made the glass kit unobtainable for now.He mentioned possibly getting some run off ***BUT,PLEASE READ....THERE WILL BE NO MORE MADE......at this time, and this one is no longer available. No,I didn't get it.Yes,I think about it often.
  10. Thanks for the offer.Too bad,my friend Andrew-"wagonsonly" was just down your way. I've got relatives in Aussy, near Canberra.Maybe.....someday.....who knows. But I do know that they came here and stayed with us so hey, they owe me a favor, right? If I ever do get there I'll have to see NZ. Consider me your personal guide to NYC and southwestern Connecticut should you ever find yourself in these parts. Cheers!
  11. '85-'89 GL-10 sedans.I used on in my GL.It was a 3 way,the BEST!!! I could fit 8' 2x4's and a 6' step ladder in my sedan and all of it be below eye level. The 3 way has the fold down armrest too as I recall.
  12. Whoever has time for this will become a hero in our community. Go for it!!!
  13. VERY cool! but 2 things..... 1-the stinkin pine cone makes it look like the B isn't there....and becomes German-like in name....ok maybe I'm a little fussy on that. 2-Damn,I missed you at your yard. You appeared to be leaving at around 3:38 I saw you going eastbound on Rt.1 and I was about 10 minutes from your yard.I hit the other yard that was open 'till 5 for a starter that eventually I didn't need.Maybe catch you before the fall...or uhh, winter. You do have that van with Tweety on the spare cover, right?I was in a yellow '84 4WD wagon with a cheesy Sears pod on top. Paul
  14. Bitchin!!!!!!! Might inspire our local GLF abuser to do the same.Mighty nice job you have going.Looking forward to seeing the final product.
  15. ......uhhhh well uhhhh,I'm uhhh, like trying.....but this is a rather special piece which would make a simply intense ride.I'd settle for 300hp or even a little less and probably still be happy.Tube frame......ultra light.....yeeehaaaa. Yup...like that.....I really wish I had the stinkin' 2grand.....arrrrgh.
  16. Ladies and gentlemen, please read thoroughly...the whole post please, before replying.Thank you. THere's a guy up this way with 2 Gen I's..... One(from AZ!!!) is a very solid car but has light surface rust. This is not the typical northeast rust.this vehicle is entirely treatable and can be made nice once again. The interior needs replacement for the most part.Same for paint, plastic and rubber parts...the usual sun baked wholesome un-goodness.....light blue w/black interior. THe other is a daily driver type that is also very solid but from NY.This one I actually rode in and it was very sound. The engine is in very good shape and I believe has 106K on it.Dark green w/blk int.Has some mags with Saab centercaps. The mags I believe are Subaru, the 70's style I can't think of right now and am too busy to go looking. "Subarufreak" and I were up there.I'll answer questions as best as I can or even call the guy for you.He doesn't want to deal with lots of people. He just recently lowered his price from $2500 for both down to $2000. There's a few other parts to be tossed in as well. Here's the wild part. And before you go ape,get in line.I might just get this item and sell the vehicles....or if there is great interest and an eventual buyer I'm working this piece in to be mine for the "handling/search fee",from him,not you. The other piece is a fibreglass Gen II BRAT shell-yes full size, the REAL thing. He also has fibreglass doors and a hood to boot. Calm down.....I know you're excited."Subarufreak" and I both agree that this should be made into a street ripper, not go into the woods to be destroyed after all that work. FORGET about asking about the shell as a seperate buy...ain't happenin'... I'll load up pictures later. The guy wants to deal through me. Subarufreak and I need to get our heads together as we were both very interested. We might work out some deal and I'm pretty sure one of these will be available....the vehicles, not the shell if I have my way....or "SF" has his. Talk to you guys later.
  17. I had 4 sitting there, now there's 2...so I must have sent yours viaFedEx...but you have a P.O. box...so I guess I need to look over my recent FedEx reciepts. Talk to you soon, Paul
  18. Hi everybody, I'm looking to get some turbo heads from a guy who stopped by the board.I'm still not entirely clear on the details but it goes something like this.If he ships them from Michigan it'll cost more and if he ships from Canada it'll cost less but be taxed for officially crossing into Bushmerica. So if someone is in northern MI,and can help me out that'd be great. Again,I need to look through my old emails, etc. and find out which town he's near...sorry for the lack of that detail. But let's just say he must be well north, like on or near the border....or over it. If this is the least bit of a hassle I'll just pay the money and get a tissue, cry in the corner and who knows, maybe even get over it. Thanks for any help,if possible.I'll get more details a little later.
  19. Florin, Welcome.Your English is fine. We've got a good little Romanian population here in Bridgeport,CT And I'm also half Romanian. You may have trouble with older idler pulleys. If they have much resistance when you spin them it's best to change them. Also as mentioned, when doing the T-belts you want to do the front main, cam seals 'n O rings,etc....all depends how much you want to put into it and how long you want it to last. I'd be happy to get you parts at my discount if you want Subaru parts.I've forgotten what the usual package costs but I can probably find a reciept and check the prices.THere's also some places to order parts from online if you're set up to do that.I'm not sure on customs, but if you want something be sure to email me. Paul
  20. Doh!...I must have just not checked this forum for a short stratch, sorry.Hope you had a good time.
