Jesse,if you can make it down with some tools the car is there and will probably not be picked up untill Monday morning.Take what you need but don't get hurt please. It's the obvious parts car-red touring wagon. Use heat, works every time for me.Yes,I've had some real bears on those rear stubs, sometimes they just take a while and lots of frustration.Heat,PB Blaster,Heat again.....should get it.Good luck. I might go out for a late nighter in a few minutes if you're crazy enough to waste a Saturday night. Sunday is out, maybe at night but not in the day.Stop down anytime before Monday and take what you want.Enjoy!

'84 4WD wagon.Hydraulic lifters....right Chris?I'll double check but if it's the adjustable type I have the tool. But it still seems like something else. Any ideas why it won't tick all the time? I have an oil pump re-seal kit ready to go in.I'll do it if needed but this problem seems to be something different. Can you explain,Mr.Spock? Again,it's an intermittent problem....not consistant. My chest pops out when it's quiet. My ego deflates when I pick up my son at school and it sounds like I'm driving a giant wrist watch....the old kind. tick tick tick

Go forth and spread the word! OK,presonal opinion on that car....say it get's a solid $1600 on a good day.Just my guess.Probably sell for a little less but hey, let's all hope it hits $5K Then I'll really be lying through my teeth when I go to pick up some old ladies '76 Coupe for $150. -
Everyone,I not have at least 3 parts cars and more inline.I won't bother with the others untill I get rid of these 3. Any help greatly appreciated....lunch,beverages,free parts.....come on by and hang for a while.Let's hope for better weather. YES,I know Mother's Day is this Sunday. Sunday will be a late day start if it happens at all.Call or email for details about Sunday as the week goes on. Cheers!

Indeed,THANKS Austin!! And be sure to tell her there's no animosity here between us. Pat,and anyone, this is not about the car so much.I do know you're being very kind in not minding the extra time. This is all about getting Ken paid so I can get my parts from him.I'd have written a check by now but I thoguht I'd just let that money from the car take care of the parts.....and it just sucks that Carlisle is almost here and I really wish I already had my exhaust part....but that's life. Worst case I spring for a rig up job from Midas. I'm completely understanding in most matters, but lack of communication....well,that tends to piss people off.But again, not going to trash a very busy woman, being a very busy man.I've got contracts I'm working on,trying to pick up work, collect money, etc.etc, etc AND KIDS!!!!.......so racing doesn't cut it for me as an excuse not to at least communicate. It takes about 30 seconds to type and send the email I needed to feel comfortable. Also, she took great offense to my asking her to please communicate. Why? Let's just tie the ends together and hoist this line in the water and let it drift away from shore once and for all. Ahoy mateys!! -
Turn the page brother.....good luck with the next one. As a city boy,it's nice to see someone going "street".You GO boy! Cheers

Well,I'm sorry to have asked Ken.I told him if it's a hassle don't bother so that's why I'm appealing to you all out there. You know,I just just don't understand WTF.She obviously stated that she'd buy the car if I needed to back out.I've got emails and PM's from day one.For her to get upset because I asked her to please communicate.... Either you actually want the car for the lousy $300 or you don't.What's the big deal?Did you really get offended because I asked you to communicate? I'll do this,it's available for the same $300 I paid to Pat,through Rob----thanks Rob.If Jamie wants is she has first shot.If I don't hear anything by tomoorow it's going up for sale in a seperate post.No hard feelings Jamie, should you see this. But,I was really hoping on a swift completion of this transaction so I could get my parts from Ken. Jamie,If you're pulling my chain because of a rift between you and Ken that really bites. The items I'm getting from Ken aren't even his,he's just handling them for other folks.....either way it shouldn't matter. I'll gladly post any emails and PM's if you can't recall what you said. -

Easy there Tex....I just said i'd start there, not that it's only worth that much. You know us cheap New Englanders. To guys like us they're worth a lot more than what most "normal" people woulld offer. But I still don't think this car is worth $3000.That's what the original poster thought he'd tell the owner to ask. -

OK,Thnx rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr -
I'm trying to get Jamie to reply to me about the '73 coupe Pat has in Moxee, that I bought.Jamie was supposed to get the car from me. If Pat,Ken,or Rob read this and you know any info please email me or post here ASAP.

Well that makes one of us.....personally I don't see why this re-surfaced.It's May,the grass is green and my plow sits at Wagon78's place.....but go ahead and talk it up as long as there's some sense being made. I now find myself with a decent plow vehicle,or two,or three...so come next fall I'll be hot on this again.Right now I could care less. Hint-it's a good time to make me an offer on the plow.....

Looks nice but not for $3000.....good luck with it.I sold my '76 DL1600 Automatic to a guy in Sweden for $2,000.Mine had 37K on it and the interior was near flawless. Good luck, hope it hits at least $1500 for you.To expect any more might set you up for a disappointment. Personally,if I were the guy knocking on her door I'd be starting at around $200.My '78 wagon was bought for $350 with 70K on it and extremely solid. But I did pay $875 for the '76 mentioned above. -
Louis, you didn't miss much car action after all.Next weekend I'm sure will have some interuption with my son's baseball, etc. but I'll see what works.Call my cell phone of you have time, please.I changed phones and the old one totally crapped before I could get your # from it. There's so much to do that I think I'll be there as much as possible to get all my cars back in order and the '78 looking better before Carlisle. No matter when someone wants to come by there'll be some project to work on.

Well, the weather sucked, and we didn't really go nuts parting out vehicles but it was great to meet Leaking Oil and her daughter.Always a pleasure to have "hocrest" Dave up here too. Thanks a million to Dave for helping me with the touring wagon.I've got a good idea on how to keep the carrier well braced.Hopefully I'll be able to keep the touring wagon and trash it at Pine Barrens one more time,or more. For any of you who are fairly local I still have a couple of cars to part out and more in the works...maybe,if I deceide to bother with them.I just need to be sure my tow guys can take them immediately upon stripping. I've decided to strip the '84 4wd wagon after all. Too many cars that really should be driven a while longer.Bummer but that's life. Cheers!

No ECU in there.I'd say the alternator is not working properly.Probably the diode.Cuts off the fuel to prevent sparking upon collision.Should be more like 15 seconds, not 30 so maybe I'm wrong. Next I'd suspect the Voltage Regulator. Good luck.

Well,it is across the street from the truck stop...could shag down some lot lizards and make it a real sleazefest.....or not. Anyhoooooo,we now have a slight delay here.....I'll be up there after 3PM. Knuckleheads of the Subaru world unite!!!!! Your fare less leader the Rockin' Rev. G.L. Fivespeed will be holding service.Blessed are those who wrench in the bored. Brian,I know I've made at least one trip to Montpelier for Subaru part hunting.....LOL.Just kidding, life is busy this time of year,do as you can.Brat door....don't forget the Brat door. I looked it over and it isgetting a little rusty on the lower edge, the usual, but for sure it's otherwise solid. As you can see I'm seriously going to be blowing most of my stuff out.We will be moving soon,I hope, and I need to get the joint trim.

Chris sold to me his USMB Calender adoring car at one hell of a nice price.I must publicly thank this guy.Vegas has a true winner now.I hope you guys out west get to meet Chris.I'll take him on my team anyday. He took great care of this car.I'm very happy to be owning it even though I was ready to ditch all EA81's and move on. I'll be posting for a few parts to try to make this car just a little more towards 100%.Beanhead me,I backed into a concrete planter at an office complex-f'in thing was below the sight line-still pissed off about it.I should be able to swap bumpers with another wagon I have for parts. I now own 3 generations of wagons personally('78,84,87+89),4 if you include my wife's '96. Once again,Thanks Chris!!!!, Engleberg Humperdink Best of luck with the new location!!!!

So,what's the Friday night partying plan?Couple of beers at your site?Or you guys have some plans on raiding an establishment? I'm hoping to be set up with the family by 9PM or so.Could swing out if you guys are up for it.We'll exchange phone numbers.Scott should have mine,as well as a couple others.Call as needed,no rush to get off.Bless my phone plan. If just getting some sleep is in order then I'll see you guys Saturday AM.It'll be my only day with the gang as Sunday is for Hershey Park. If I can't leave the '78 there untill Monday morning would one of you volunteer to take it to Ben's?(or somebody's)-ONLY if Ben allows it to be parked for a night.I can pick it up Sunday later in the evening or Monday AM.I think we won't be back from Hershey (Sunday)untill dark,or later. I can leave it at the hotel but if someone is local and doesn't mind I'll feel better about it,and,it'll be viewable at Carlisle for another full day. OK,Friday night? Babysitter for the '78 wagon. Talk to me.

Good source for exhaust parts??
moosens replied to Chongo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
My opinion from experience here on the east coast is that $350 front to rear is expected, and not too bad.We all want to pay less but I've never been able to do a front to rear exhaust job for less than $300.Add hardware and gaskets and you're right around $350 evey time. Good luck, let us know what you find because I need to do at least 2 cars complete.
