Is there an FF-1G group?
moosens replied to Rick Becker's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Hi again Rick.Great talking to you. There seems to be some strange void from '70-72 for the old 1100,1300's.The "Star" series must have gone intergalactic. And that one in CT is going back south.Arrrrrrgh. Just remembered,we had a guy on here last year with 2 or 3 rotting in his yard...sorry.He offered them and there were no takers. All from '71-2 as I recall."FourGuzzis" was his board name.At least he's still got cool bikes! -
Any experiences are are greatly appreciated....as long as they are related to exhaust for EA82T's. I have a decent front UP pipe and Down pipe.Need the long one with the cat. and the rear muffler too. I'd like to go with a medium grade/cost product since I'll probably doing whatever my Turbo mentors tell me next year with the exhaust, intercooler, blah blah blah....but for now it's get me in the road again Sally. Thanks guys I'm absolutley open to buying any decent "spare piping" you may have "used" that just so happens to fit an EA82T'bo wagon w/SR5spd.

Son,lemme give you a little advice.... DON'T ASSUME IT'LL BE THERE TOMORROW,let alone in a few months. Take it from experience.Learn from other people's mistakes. It's always best to make contact,at least leave a note that won't get lost, something like that. Let them know that whenever the time comes to just call you first. Good luck -
Gabe is currently on vacation. He's down on the shore,or mighty close to it,in Lisbon Falls. Northeast Maine eh?My sister inlaw's family is from Presque Isle.Nice 'n quiet up that way.

Question of my life. I'd absolutley love to be there.Salmon fishing is king for me.Nova Scotia baby!Alaska is the major leagues I'd have to imagine. But the Atlantic Salmon are pretty fun too! Someday I will get there. Gotta get out of here though. That's for sure.Even without this last instance the place is just so tough to take.Too much greed, anger, and negativity here in general. Then the accident.Makes me sick. The sight of the bridge, the traffic, the extra time each family suffers because it takes two hours to go what normally takes you 5 minutes....this is NO exageration.THat's what we're up against now untill who the flyin duck knows when they can fix that stretch. There's something very fishy about this, trust me.Nobody was killed but the tanker managed to cause an incredible fire that melted the bridge. There's more but it'll get messy here.I digress.

wagon78 will also be attending.I got his voicemail and will let him know to sign up under the "US club" tomorrow. He'll have the '78 wagon too so you guys get to see all 2 of them on the eastcoast.LOL!!!! I posted on the SVX board too.Hopefully we yank in a few more folks so we all don't have to register 2-3 cars. Again, count me in for one or two more cars registered if needed.I think with the stand by ghost cars we're at 25.Wagon78 makes 17 plus a solid 8 ghost rides......but don't be a and not register because you think we're all set. GO, SHOW, or BLOW

I need to be near Ashland, just north of Richmond.I'm attending some certification thing for the current work I have been taking on.

Thanks Chongo! It's a great show where you'll see cars and tools etc.etc. that you JUST WON'T FIND at your local shows.Worth the drive!!!!

Need be I'll reggy two more cars.Might even have my turbo waon there.Going the clean route but not homo clean like Jay's LOL My engine is coming along slowly.I need a timing cover for the back(against the block) of the driver's side. My wife should have her Legacy as long as we stick to that plan I see no reason why I shouldn't reggy her car too. Still need to hear from wagon78 and a few others.I emailed several people today to light the fire under their asses.

Cool, send some pics.I'm getting frustrated trying to locate that sweet blue dash. I hear ya on the length of projects.Wanna see my ten year + restoration on my '66 Ducati? LOL!! Mostly it sat,not like I've been working on it much...or at all some years.Turn the motor, make sure it moves,go mess with Subarus. Actually that is almost done and I'll be taking pics this spring....err uh summer by the time it rolls out. LOL Ray,call me.I'm home all day today.

Russell, click on the USRM up in the left corner of the most of the pages on this board. That's the Repair Manual...a work in progress. CCR is very reputable.Lots of folks here have dealt with them. Good luck. I'll be in Harrisburg May 21-23 for the Carlisle show.Join us if you get a Subaru or not.

how to pack wheel bearings?
moosens replied to teasdam's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Couple of things, working in reverse.... I agree, where do you get the good nitriles for that price.Sure don't see them that low here. More good advice there about NOT banging the inner race if re-using,which I've done.Flush, flush, flush all the old grease out and use recomended grease per front disk wheels or rear drum....go to a good store and get decent stuff-NOT Walmart's grease, etc. You don't need to spend a lot but going cheap bites you in the backside. Sidenote:NEVER use that Tech2000 garbage Walmart sells-oil,grease,tampons,whatever!!! Don't touch the stuff. GD There's plenty of shops here that'll do it quick and painless.Just ask your dealer who they use for a machine shop and go to them. The dealer sends out flywheels, heads, etc, etc all the time. They'll direct you should you feel totally uncomfortable about tapping them in.Like I said, even the Senior Master Tech taps them in so a shop is not necessary. One of those things you and only you can decide.Take our word for it.You can do this, but you do need to come up with a safe way of tapping it in. As mentioned,I keep an assortment of items to help. One way to do the outer is to have the inner one in,pass the axle through, and draw the outer one in with the castle nut and some large washers,or whatever you come up with. If you're going for a new inner seal I suggest a good cleaning of the old grease then apply heat to the bearing seats. The heat opens the hole enough to slip the bearings in.Helps to keep the bearings cold(MUST be wrapped if going in the fridge/freezer). You'll get a few different suggestions if you talk to a few people. You can do it.We're all non mechanics-with few exceptions. We come home from our day jobs and sometimes worry about screwing up but we all help each other and the jobs always seem to get done.Good luck.Remember, even the most knowledgable factory trained techs knew nothing about wheel bearings once too.Don't take that the wrong way please. Cheers Yes Dave, next I'll be doing a timing belts while stuck on the George Washinton Bridge. ....wait a minute,I'm setting myself up for a jinx here.....
