  1. We'll see....tough to get people together as is....getting people to agree on a weekend coming from all corners...this I gotta see.Sorry to be pesimistic. It's a great idea. Personally, after seeing all the other offers to help I just assume sit tight and let you guys without kids do the legwork.I'm just hoping to get the parts and manuals I asked for.You guys can play the role of hero to the board. Well,I guess I did my part. Thanks to the guy who notified me of Billy's presence on the SVX board. At least we've got things stirred up.Now we'll have to see what the mix tastes like. Having gone from a whole warehouse full of stock to 15 boxes kind of concerns me.I'm wondering just what's actually there that I can use.Am I going to travel all that way to find a very minimal amout of 70's parts?Am I going to find the items I put dibs on?It'd be nice to know without travelling all that way. Good luck, let me know what shakes.
  2. Saturday is THE day for the baord to meet IMO Ben is local,he's the lucky one. My intentions are to stay over Friday night probably camping to save dough.Motel if too crappy out or the back of the wagon like last year.It was too wet to pitch the tent at 11PM and maint. hadn't truley started at the campground. The grass was about 8 inches high and soaked.Otherwise I recommend Gifford Pinchot St. Park...I'll call them and get the fire lit under their asses so the place is fit for Subaru owners and their high class ways. There's a chance it could be a full weekend for me if my family comes along. We'd leave Sunday late afternoon, after I win my award.:-p
  3. Well first I want to thank Billy for making this effort. It shows he's got more integrity than a lot of other folks in this world. I can't help but wonder, was there or is there a pile of stuff from the 70's and a few manuals that I had claim on?If so I'd really like a shot at them first,as I had committed to getting them.OK Selfish reasons aside.... I offered to help and I'm still willing. It'll be a tough weekend of travel and I'll surely either take my son,the family,or have to hear some squawking from the old lady and maybe her divorce lawyer too..... but I really think I can do this.As a decent family man will have to do,I'll need to make sure the household won't be distupted or lacking during my asbsence. I'm thinking a wicked mega coffee redeye run on a Friday night.Get into GA around Saturday AM.(I'll have another driver too somehow...a friend or a board member). As for what to do about it well that's a tough one, sort of.I can surely help on that weekend by getting most or all of the parts tagged so we all know what they are for.I suppose if we have a list of who's spoken for which parts already I can handle the shipping.I know what you're thinking and if you know me you know that right now I'm blowing out all the FEW items left for people. And I'm in the process of clearing out my workshop. I'm not going to attempt this and have you guys all upset all over again. This is a serious endeavor.I'm doing a resto and am always involved with older Subarus so you know how much this means to me.I also know that you feel the same way. As for waiting untill Summer...well,to me winter time is the time to get to these resto projects.I'm itching to have my '78 looking like it deserves to be at Carlisle in May....but at least we have Billy here and I'm sure that sometime within this year, hopefully by summer or well before winter,we'll all be much happier about this. OK,you guys speak up and let me know what you think...if someone else can meet up that's all the better.I'm in no way trying to wedge anyone out or snag items beforehand.Infact,I'd appreciate it if we all showed old emails, etc that indicated what items we were committed to.That way some guy on the west coast doen't think old Moosens cut him off,etc,etc.... That was my main thought.Sort the "want list" now before anyone gets their hands on it to avoid arguements.
  4. Well the link to this post is posted there and the link from that post is posted here so.....??????? Come on Billy, speak up.Nobody wants to kill you. This has gone on way too long.
  5. wisecracker answer first-----move further south. Seriously,it sounds like you've got something blocking the defroster vent. The air coming out is warm right? You may hear air blowing but the flap to shift it to defroster instead of lower or bi-level may be shut.THere's cheapy dash mounted defrosters that might help.Better than having to take the dash out. They go for like $20 if I remember right.Check the vacuum hoses all around for pressure.Good luck
  6. I was there Sinday last year and didn't see this ricer chromed 'baru you're talking about,thankfully... I believe the ricer show was scratched, see above. hahaha typed Sinday instead of Sunday......well,it'll be a sin if you aren't there-so says the Rev. G.L. Fivespeed Amen bruthuhs 'n sissuhs.
  7. Keith,I really don't know if it's people or cars. OK I've supplied links,Dennis has supplied links...use the freakin computer for something besides this board and porno....go! seek!! The answers are out there. If someone needs info not seen on a web page try contacting the organizers. Guys, just stinking show up with all you can bring.Don't bring excess vehicles if its a burden,I won't if its a pain.I sure will try but I'm not sure I can bring more than the one I'll be driving right now. Do I sound a little flustered?Too bad!! LOL Carlisle is THE show of shows.Whether it's the Corvette weekend,Chevy weekend,Mopar,Moped,Mickey Mouse,Banana Splits,Popeye,Little Rascals,Snoopy and the Red Baron weekend, whatever!!! Just git yer butts there.
  8. Saturday is probably the best day.Weather is often the deciding factor. Great camping nearby. And plenty of rooms too.
  9. ..where is dey is? Sounding like its out near GD....gotta have one.I mean two....damn I'd get 2 sets if I had the dough right now.I really don't want to have another deer waste another wagon.Especially my rust free baby turbo "waggin" from the southwest....every night I drive home I have to look extra close for eyeballs glaring back at me from the side of the parkway.
  10. 3 CT guys who all own vintage Subarus!!!! The trifecta baby!!!!! You guys haven't met yet....lucky for Scott hahaha just kiddin' Andrew. Scotty, good talking to you tonight.Good to see you here too.Check the Meet/Greet Forum and get in on the Carlisle post.Let me/us know if we're all going together. By now the snow HAS to be hitting Norwich. It's all powder amd FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!!! Had a great time after I hung up.Damn near wasted an alloy on a curb shot...EEEEEEK!Not bad though.Hopefully I wake up and there's 4 tires holding air. Talk to you soon.
  11. Not always true GD. You're right that for the price it'll be hard but not impossible to find something to beat around with.I'm sure even at 19 that he knows his money isn't getting one like StuartC's was. That one was absolutely worth $3000 here and then some IMO. But,to find a Brat that isn't rotted all over isn't *that* hard. They'll have a few years left in them as long as the crossmember isn't rotted or the shock-strut towers. NH,Too bad you won't come down here to CT.There's still a few down on the shoreline.I get at least 2-3 calls a year from guys with them either looking for parts or to sell their Brat.I still have one guy's number.I'll call and check for you if you want but he's down on here somewhere, like near Middletown if I remember right. Also there's a Brat in Enfield F/S by a board member. It's the one posted here and it looks like there's a bidder. Is that you Louis bidding on Chris' Brat?? There's several in the Hartford area as well.Mostly east of the river.Good luck kid.
  12. Cloth huh? I've got an '89 Touring and it's the typical vinyl/plastic.
  13. Now now boys!!!.......keep nicey for a few minutes here.Just posted on his thread in the SVX wanted forum..... http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=177366#post177366 Billy, come on brother.Things are going great for you.Baby coming.Obviously if you can swing the cars you have and buy an old dealer's stock, even at cents on the dollar, you're doing OK.Make some folks happy by dumping that load of old stock. You started this board and man it's your duty to at least keep contact with the folks you were involved with on this stuff.Dude,I've gotten into some conversations that have tossed some serious "charges(?)" your way. We've all taken some time to fulfill an order.Heck,I've got one (Witte) that I owe the guy for over a year now I think. But I contact him every so often and I'm busting my butt to get his and a few other's stuff out ASAP because I just can't stand it anymore either. If you need help with this stuff I think it's possible for at least one of us to get to your place and work with you some weekend.I'll even try.Might need to bring my 6yr old son but I could concievably do a weekend. Really looking forward to any reply.
  14. OK Billy,I hear the sound of mud in the distance....getting closer....closer.....some folks I've talked to have mentioned stuff that I'd rather not set flame to right now. Just say something. You forgot, you've been sick, you got extremely lazy....something please.I posted this to try to make things right for all.But from the emails and conversations I've had it's beging to get "muddy" around here.
  15. I wanna hang with a deicidal maniac. Nice going big E !!
  16. Well, another board member found Billy alive and well in the SVX message board hosted by this same board host. Billy,I expect you'll be reading this before emailing or posting here.As you can see there's no mud slinging here.Just some folks who want to be even or get some of that stock you dangeld in our faces. You had some manuals for me and a heap of 70's parts. Speak to me Billy, speak to me boy!!!!
  17. Way to go Flowey...feel the power of the 3AT (yawn)
  18. http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/schedule/import/index.asp May 21-23,2004......be there!!!
  19. No,we don't NEED 25 but if we get 25 the group is given a tent to use by the organizers....and at least two of us have vowed to cook a nice meal for the gang. The main thing is to just show up,25 or not.Well worth the trip.Carlisle is THE event on the east coast.Even attracts folks from all over the country.
  20. Rob,if things work out and we contact him I tend to doubt he'll deny that you sent money.I think just the opposite, that he needs his tree shaken and then we'll get the fruit. I will personally take care of your stuff if this ever happens and you won't pay me a dime. We'll hack it out of the total lot purchacse and get it all at a few cents on the dollar just like he did.I know you've helped me bigtime when I needed that gas filler throat. No sweat returning the favor....Billy,give us a chance dag nabbit.
  21. I feel this should be posted here but if you guys feel you need to move it then I'll live with that. What's the general consensus here about Billy C and the teaser of the year award? Some of you guys have even sent money and gotten zippo.I'm not that unfortunate but it's winter time and I was really hoping to get some stuff happening towards my '78 resto. What to do?I've emailed(not lately though)and gotten no response. Is anyone close to him in proximity or relation? Justin??Anyone in GA?? Rather than list our complaints let's concentrate on a solution.Group purchase and relieve him of the weight it's cast on him and his newlywed?...not so newly anymore. Billy if you see this you have to know we don't want to sit here and rag on you buddy.
  22. Congrats. Be sure to remind me about the '78 FSM later in the week.
