Welcome fellow New Englander. Can you answer one question for me? What the hell were they smoking when they put the World Series emblem on the ground behind home plate BEFORE they lost the last game to the Yankees????Sorry bud,I'm a Yankees fan.Good to have you here anyways.Cheers

Great,I've got time to save funds for my divorce lawyer or family weekend to the great midwest. I've heard they have some good beer and pork products there. -

No sweat!!! Hey everybody,it was just a post to rattle the cage a little. It was partly intended for myself as well. I have no real problem with any of you and I hope you can say the same about me. Only MF'er I have a problem with is "Alcyone31" from the old board, not sure if he's here under a new name or what. He's the only one in all my years here(first board onward)who's burned me for something.Don't get me going on that subject as I'm sure tempted to risk jail time.I'll catch up to his rump roast and I'll get even. He's already on the poop list with the Subaru techs where we both go for parts and advice. -

Alright!!!!!! Good to see so many confessions! LOL!!!! Repent!!!! Repent!!!! You're all welcome to come to the First Subaru Church of the Resurection and be HEALED!!!! Amen! Mudrat,no sweat,we've communicated and I completely understand. And to the new guy (syphon?),no sweat at all. Like I said, there's a ton of us who need a good kick in the pants on this issue. We all bathe in the same mud.Cheers!!! As for me,I'm planning on a big pot of coffee and an all nighter to blast this stuff out. Witte has been a complete saint-over 1 full year waiting for his 5lug stuff.Don't feel bad John. Cheers -
Coolant leaking between Intake Manifold and Engine
moosens replied to alcyone's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
My money is with Russ.It sounds like the little hose from under the intake to the T-stat housing. My opinion:change the intake manifold gaskets, turbo feed and return hoses and turbo gaskets and live comfortably for a while.Don't forget the hose with the foil wrap too. If money is way tight then at least the intake gaskets and the little hose at the same time. -

And sometimes it's just a matter of putting your foot into the pedal and getting that oil to pump up that lifter. Moshe did just that when I changed his oil pump and after a minute of high revs or less,it went so quiet we damn near started jumping up and down.Nothing like doing the right thing and still worrying you screwed up somehow. That oil need to pump that lifter up.Good luck.I hope it's that simple.Otherwise I'm with the O ring theory and excess sealant theory. -

looking like no road trip Andrew....:boohoo: Mick reports vehicle as too rotted.I'd still like to sawzall the rear for the hatch/drop gate.Mick says the gate is rotted though.Looked good enough in the picture for refurb but pics don't always show all the detail. -

no sweat Andrew.I'm laughing because I can see where lots of folks are going to think they're on my poop list or someone else's. but that's never the case unless you disapear and owe me some dough. No worries mates.Just setting the recoed straight.I think it kind of gives a bunch of us a little kick in the pants.I'm one that needed it too to some degree.New Year's Resolution:I'm not overloading myself with Subaru stuff to ship. Andrew-mom's silver 3door before the snow flies?? I'll give it my best shot.Still need that tranny OR I'm making it a D/R 5spd like it ought to be!!! .....and I think it was 57months but who's counting?j/k no sweat, all's well and the '75 returns to my possesion some day,it's in the cards. -

Nice score Brian!!!!!! -
Good luck!!!! Sorry,I can't say much more.I've made lots of calls for my '78.The east coast is a lost cause except for some holdout stock here and there. When you find any please pass along any info for the few 70's owners and we'll do the same. Might want to get the woody look from a department store.Cabinet liner material and such.Make sure its not a paper finish on the outside.

Been sitting for years?Offer to take it for free after the "I see it's been sitting here forever it seems"line. If they say no then ask what it would take and let them know that you can't get parts for it and that it'd be a novelty project for you. As for the $2500 one, that better have something serious under the hood for that price.I did sell my '77 sedan to a guy in Sweden for $2003.It had 37k and a museum quality interior. Go in LOW,as in "I'm doing you a favor".....but I also know that they pay more for scrap out your way so you may have to compete against what a yard will pay them. Good luck

Northguy,no sweat,no offense taken.Your post did trigger me though.Got me to thinking how slow I am and that I kind of suck at getting things done quickly so that's why I started off like I did. I also agree with the scamsters these days.We all need to watch out.As soon as the economy goes south the dirtbags get to scamming. Bottom line on my end-family first,Subaru stuff a little behind them. And sometimes it seems like I'm never going to get things going then all of a sudden I pull an all nighter and blast through it all. My other bitch was about people going to third base and not scoring the run....I'm sure some folks just forget or realize they can't cover the price, etc. A little communication is all I ask if you can't or won't complete a deal. Onward!!!!!! -
Hey guys,it's been mentioned in several posts lately and I just want to say a few words. #1-on my end,if I need to be reminded of something then DO IT.I always tell EVERYONE that when we begin a deal of any type.I can't keep track of everything here and stay on top of it all by just one email or seeing one post reply here. So,if someone feels I dropped the ball simply email me and we'll talk it over like ADULTS. #2-there's been a few people lately who actually emailed and said they were sending money and going to complete deals who HAVEN'T.....if you wish to back out that's fine, just say so.If you just want my home address to add me to some junk mail B/S then go scratch your backside and don't EVER bother me again. No need to reply,no need to apologize. If you feel this is directed at you,I apologize. This is a general message pertaining to all who want to make deals with me. Keep after me through email and I'll get your stuff going as long as you've paid for it.Sometimes even if you haven't. And on that note I sincerely apologize to those who have paid me and have not recieved their goods.I'm trying and will make a true effort this coming month to settle up. Namely: Witte-the 5 lug conv. stuff Syrinx-rear slider Todd-70's auto tranny(not paid but that's not necesary so sleep well)...anyone else please email me,but I think that's it. Believe me I feel terrible every time I think of this stuff.I truely appreciate your patience and understanding and you have to know I don't intend on burning anyone.

I've got it.It's stored in MS Word.If you need it email me and I'll reply with it. moosens at yahoo dot kahm Urethane Transmission Mounts- EA-81 Series Transmissions The urethane used is a tough, temperature resistant, and comparatively hard to other urethanes. With excellent damping properties, the transmission will run more efficiently, there will be more power surge to the halfshafts during acceleration, and off-road performance is greatly enhanced. Installation The kit includes two urethane inserts to be used with the existing transmission brackets. The rod that skewers the mounts are tabs to be bent in place during installation- Pulling these rods out or not bending them during installation could result in loss of the insert during heavy use- they are there in order for the mounts to work properly. 1) Relieve the engine pitch rod, so that the adjusting nut on either side is free to turn by hand, in other words, let the engine/transmission go to it’s natural resting position. 2) Loosen the two 12mm bolts that fasten the mount to the transmission, but do not remove the bracket that connects to the transmission directly. 3) If your mounts are completely shot, the stock mount should slide out- this is the part surrounded by the C shape piece bolted to the crossmember. If they are still bonded, loosen the 14mm nut from the crossmember to completely remove the mount as one unit. 4) With a razor blade, sharp pocket knife or steak knife, etc, cut away all rubber that is bonded to the mount. The points of interest are the surfaces of the bracket that have the two 12mm bolt pattern on it, and the lower-inner surface of the C bracket that mounts to the crossmember. With a wire brush, sandpaper, or file, remove the rubber until bare metal is showing all the way around. This is especially important for the lower-inner surface of the C bracket. 5) With all surfaces clean, re-mount the C bracket onto the crossmember and give it a few threads so it is loose. 6) Push the two 12mm bolt bracket into the slot of the insert, making sure that it is orientated so that the rod is facing up. 7) Push the bracket/insert combo back into place, and align the insert to the center of the whole assembly- this may take some work being a tight fit. 8) Bend the ends of the rod upward until they are pointing straight up. 9) Bolt the bracket down- depending on the condition of your vehicle, you may need to place a floor jack underneath the transmission to get the holes to line up. 10) Bend the rods the rest of the way, making them flush with the upper surface of the mount until they do not move or rattle. In the event the mounts do not fit, write or email for your money back: Chad Van Liere 448 E. Seneca Tucson, AZ 85710 cvan@gci-net.com I tried to copy and paste it here...hope it worked -
Workin on it bud...workin on it....I'll lok it over and see if I can reply with a decent answer.

THe guy with the urethane ones was "Cvan".He made a few but not many for sale.He donated the drawing so others can make them. Up here my local dealer can get whatever I need in a few days tops.Usually the next day or 2 days. That's including stuff from the other region's warehouses like the west coast, etc. Call Perkins Subaru in Milford CT for kicks. If I think of it I'll stop by or call tomorrow and check price and availability. We all need them sooner or later.I might even be able to get some produced in urethane if we have enough interest. -
Maybe you guys will get it and we won't.Just the opposite of last year when you guys couldn't buy the white stuff and we had tons of it. Happy trails!!!!!
