  1. Where in Mass.? I could drive up and snag it.I need a pushbutton 4WD automatic tranny right now.
  2. My '87 wagon runs pretty good except for a couple things. One is the flat spot or miss that occurs when I put my foot into it.Happens around 3200rpm and maybe a little higher sometimes. Feels like something cutting out.I haven't checked the distributor for any wobble yet.Infact,I haven't had time to even really go over this car. Other problem is high idle that won't knock down at all unless I drive for a while, shut it off for a little (stop for coffee,etc.).During the first 10 minutes os so if I do get the idle to knock down it only dips for a second and shoots back to 2100 or so.This will happen untill the car is well warmed up,then it acts just fine and runs well. Flat spot can occur at any time.Even when warmed up.It always seems to happen when I need to punch it a bit for passing, etc. Thanks for any help.
  3. Wait till you see the Skipper's "Bomb",not the car,the device.Smokescreens as dog doo smelly as they come.
  4. Tom,you ever sell that wagon of Rory's?? Sorry to intrude.
  5. Don't worry,if he doesn't have it yet he will soon.Is that a LeBlond lathe?Looks like high school shop to me too.
  6. Good to see you might make it.Convoy from the First Subaru Church of the Resurection if we get a few of us going. Wagon78??? WagonsOnly?? clantieri???? oobnuker??? Flash???
  7. Anyone able to give a decent account of what's there before we drive approximately 9 hours?? My wish list at this moment, what I'm able to scratch out of my head with a small apartment filled with 4 wild kids at the moment: Seriously sweet looking blue inner panels('87-89), Blue carpet(wagon '85 up), Wagon hatch struts, silly little wagon parts like the rear closer tabs that slide in the rear hatch jamb, other misc. Gimme a heads up whoever goes there next.If you print my list and check items off I'll buy you coffee AND a donut!!!Woohoo!!!
  8. Boz,we ALL have road/street tires.Only the local hatch guys use those mud paddles and we can't figure out why since it's 99% packed sand and they still get stuck. So IF you make it you'll need a front axle for a Brat??If true answer yes.....if not true answer just what in the Devil's backyard you need.I think I have EA81 axles in my place. I want a shrimp cocktail, lobster and good beer for lunch. My son will want chicken based items, like all kids,or a hamburger.Just kiddin'....see you there and we'll hook you up if you need it.If anyone has the tool for the axles please bring it along. All this just to get another guy out there.......Boz,we haven't even met you yet....you better be worth all this. Helpful household tip:Get her a gift certificate at a beauty/health place for a massage, mudbath,or whatever the hell them wimmenz like these days.As long as it doesn't include batteries you'll be welcome home after doing just about anything.
  9. Boz,what are you bringing? If I have an axle I'll bring one and swap it in before EJ is unstuck.Buy me and the kid lunch and you're hooked....provided I have the axle. Steve, you stud! Sounds like you're getting a car?RX ??? Hatch?? do tell... Dennis,I've totally blown you off because I've been working and overloaded with stuff to get done.Sorry bud.Let me know if I can wait till PB or if I should toss a check in the mail....Paypal...whatever.
  10. Good to hear Miles. Guys, don't be decieved by this thread, the real one for our event is the one where EJ and Dave and a few other keep annoying the readers.
  11. Sure Dennis, they want to try their first Pabst. We'll all meet at Mick's place in 2007,the tenth anniversary of the first USMB.If you guys do come east bring rustfree 70's cars loaded with parts. I'll start cooking........
  12. Gotta listen to the news.Good old AM radio and traffic reports.Take the Tappan Zee.Works better 99% of the time. I was thinking that we could make a little ride out of it too. There's a couple "No Winter Maint." roads not very far away.Get a little sideways, beat the suspension up,chase some deer. I'm not so sure I can make it to PB in December. EJ :brolleye:
  13. Wagon78 clantieri Oobnuker WagonsOnly I'll be posting a flyer in the local dealers parts/service areas.I was told that one dealer would give me some freebies to give out.....we'll see.
  14. Hey folks. You know the deal.My place WILL be clean and able to hold a party,I promise.......by the time the "season" comes around.....stop laughing those of you who've seen it lately It won't be the end of the world party like Subazoo throws every post 9/11 but it'll be worthy of attending for sure. The joint will be rockin' and plenty of holiday cheer whoa yeah!!! For those of you who haven't visited the Moose lodge it's a 16'x44' or so unit in an industrial park.THere's a bathroom, fridge, and there's ohhhhhhh just a little bit of Subaru stuff around too. If I get a good list of attendees I'll have some of the college girls living in my building come up and give massages. There's at least 2 hotties living here that drive Subarus.Yeehaaaa!! sorry Skip (dancing with college coed's naked) Talk to me people......December 6? 13? 20? before that??? you tell me. Cheers!
  15. Been talked about before.......absolutely my favorite place on the east coast.Windsurfing, surfcasting, over sands driving,a peaceful place......there's just so many reasons to go there.Only problem is getting a group together there. I'm open to making an attempt.Mid-May is my preference, before the summer inhabitants invade and the fish are just working thier way north in major schools.
  16. Nice place to raod trip to.......leaf watchers beware!THere'll be hords of Subathusiasts roaming the Franklin VT area.As if the Halloween season isn't scary enough.
  17. THis reminds me of the farmer who's outhouse had gutters going out to the fields........ My opinion is DO trust new seals.I beat the wizz out of my car and it's tight as a frog's backside. By the way,I'm half Romanian.....good to see you here. If you have the money: Do the timing belts, cam seals and O rings, front main seal, oil pump, water pump with O ring on the tube. If you can lift the motor out do the oil pan gasket and if you really have time and money do the heads right. Good luck.Wish I knew some Romanian other than a few bad words and what my grangmother said to us.
  18. I didn't send any coin yet but he's got a heap of stuff for me including manuals that I had to outbid other cretins for.I'd realll like to get my stuff but at least I'm not out any dough.
  19. Todd,FedEx Ground should be well under $100.I've used them a few times on trannies and it's never been more than $70 or so.Once you get into "freight" it's extra.
  20. Uhh,why did Subaru of America celebrate thier 30th anniversary in 1998? You guys said '67 and '69 but I always knew it to be 1968 that Subaru sold cars in the USA.....correct me if I'm wrong and I'll sit in the corner for an hour.
  21. pliers, not the 17mm you probably tried using.THey almost never come off with an open end wrench.I've got one of those cables around too somewhere.
  22. Cool score!!I have a 57k tranny for you.We'll talk soon.
