Pretty sure those are still there. Thanks for the bump. Ahh , what a great year , eh ?? For sure I’ll ship and will set any 80’s goodies aside for you to peruse. Temps already way up in Tempe. My son has an Outback now thanks to another great older board member , NVZeno For kicks I joined group on FB that off-roads Subies in AZ - MtnRoo Arizona - and hope my son gets involved but not too seriously. Budget requires he commute with it so he can’t bash it up. Stay safe and healthy. And yes , a little damp still up here. Fine day today though. Enjoy !

All that gunk built up on the metal filler tube , clean that off , your leak is there. It won’t be a large hole but probably an area that appears to weep. Maybe also a hole has developed. But in general that crap atop the bend in the pipe has caused the rot. 30 years , you said it all. No thin wall metal tube is going to survive that long if neglected as it was. Probably 5% of subaru owners properly wash their car 100% Most everyone misses spots like that. And the plastic shield is the accomplice. Good luck.

What year ? I’m currently unloading some manuals, and lots of 1970’s parts. In my stash should be at least one FSM for something I owned like an 88 or 89. Complete sets are getting scarce I guess. Those later sections 4,5,6 you’d find nearly untouched. Pretty sure any I would have are going to be like that. Hoping to make more time at storage this weekend. If I find what helps you I’ll post back and message here.

Price is not outrageous. Not for up here in the northeast where you’ll be soon enough. Just got an 03 GT Sedan for a parts car for my 03 Legacy wagon. Jesse - Subafreak totally approves and he is our resident Subaru tech with much experience. We have that 2.5 headgasket fear , but he says no no , not this 2.5 - the ‘00-‘04 gets a big thumbs up. If it’s really that sweet and you’re not struggling to put food in the table so I vote that you buy this one. Get it properly rust proofed.

I’m going to say it’s 80’s. Going through my “stupid amount” of old keys I see mostly F and E with E seemingly being for glove box or trunk in most cases. Then I have known Loyale keys and they are four numbers followed by a letter , mostly X and Y Yeah , from this lot in front of me I’m going with 80-84 or gen 2 Brat or late run Hatch.

No , not necessarily. My fault for putting your XT manual and the key code together. Check with an older dealership and hopefully an older parts guy. FWIW all my older 1970’s let’s typically lead off with an “F”.

Oh , that’s an XT
-
Yes it could very well be. Not used to seeing “W” but ??

If you have 14” wheels it’s because of the market you’re in , I would guess. As mentioned the USA had 15” in that era. There is a diameter match going from 14 to 15. 195/60/15 will equal the circumference of your stock 14”. We have done just that , as have many others , with our 94 Legacy. Enjoy ! -
Larry , I’m dead sure I won’t find find one. Wait , I’d better not use dead. Lol If you do have one or find one I’ll gladly pay you as usual but would have it sent to my son in AZ. So please let me know , not in any real rush though. I have to get his Y pipe sorted out first from 2600 miles away. Have one here but the crack might just be ok to weld. Getting kids to communicate when you want ..... hahaha So at this moment I’m waiting to hear what he or his friends did. 96 Outback 2.2 should be the same as the 90-94 exhaust port , yes ?? The snowman 4 port. Mainly need a front bash plate to protect that Y pipe. Hoping he doesn’t really off-road it.

No but great news. I just bought a $400 parts car - GT Sedan , manual shift. Its up where Subafreak does some work. I’ll be bringing my wagon up there soon and he/we will swap over the entire drivetrain with engine too I think. Parts car has lower miles , one owner always synth oil - not a big deal to me but I guess I’ll stay that route. Thanks for asking ! Hoping to give up one of the 92’s soon after.
