  1. Its such a tight spot I'd need some special tiny iron. But yeah , that's parallel to idea number one above. Either use a wire to jump or solder that pin back down. But I'm thinking the base of the pin might have to be cleaned up a bit and that would be tricky.
  2. That was thought number one on my end. I'll have to double check but i'm pretty sure there is a wire for this pin.
  3. Sad to hear , but good for us to know. Thanks for posting the reason.
  4. That is from the plug in side of the connector as if you were about to plug in the male connector. NOT looking at it from the inside of the unit outward. Third row up , sixth pin from the left. Thanks
  5. Ok I'll get the funny part out of the way. My son got his car drunk in NJ. Car got yanked out, brought home, and dried out. All carpet and padding is gone. I took apart the ECU and it looked bad but I remained committed to an attempt at making it useable. After a toothbrush and water cleaning I used WD40 and dried it out. Looks really great with one exception. One of the pins corroded and broke off at the base where it comes up from the circuit board. I'll try to add a pic later if Shawn hooked me up on the photo gallery deal. But when looking at the connector from the pin side it's the 6th from the left and 3rd row up from the bottom. If you have a manual handy it should show which function that pin handles. Anyone ever dry one out and make it work again? I know one of our old group did that one weekend in NJ back around 2005 or earlier. Anyone ever fix a broken pin on an ECU? Thanks for any help.
  6. I don't have anything like that for those 80's cars. PRP is Precision Replacement Parts. They work with those sweatshops in Thailand where the rubber comes from and you get some fresh stuff let me tell ya. Whoever receives the lot had better not mind rubber smell. Get yourselves a contact there. Our guy was Derek Churchyard who moved elsewhere within the company. The second guy I can't think of right now but all you REALLY NEED TO DO is call them and say you are an enthusiast group and want to purchase a bulk order. Ask them what's their minimum order and say "OK , we can do this". Of course , you might want to get a post going unless one or a few of you want to get 50 and retail. We've watched the Gen I Brat take off and you know the Gen II is just as desireable (hack, cough) so seriously, I don't see how you guys could go wrong. There's a few deep pocket guys here who could do it but you know they won't so get yourselves a good little group and do some math. Yours will be the freshest made and you can prove it. that deserves $75+ , screw the guy with the old stock for a few bucks less. Cost will be under $50 ea. I'm sure.
  7. Couple related questions. Do those also fit the first gen legacy wagons? I have a 92 FWD and want to get KYB's when the time comes. And which place did you order from? I've used KYBOutlet.com since Subafreak turned me on to them. But I'm always willing to pay less if need be.
  8. There's been Gen II windshield gaskets retailing consistently. You guys don't look hard enough. They've been as low as $62 or so a few years back. PRP should have Gen II in stock. They made our Gen I's awhile back. There is a fairly current thread on them over in Historic. Get a group purchase going thru PRP like we did and your gaskets will be more like $38-46 each.
  9. Hey whoever sees this - this is IT !!! This is THE YEAR that I MUST GET SERIOUS about my storage and selling off too much vintage stock If you're near NYC/Southern CT sure I'll let you help me. I've got a 10 x 25 unit with too much crap in the way on the sweet stuff. It takes me an hour at least by myself to get the aisle cleared out. Another strongback or two wouldn't hurt me. This weekend is shot. Next weekend after - May 7-8 I'm planning on being there. Contact me before just hopping in your ride and cruising over. PM here or moosens at yahoo and we'll exchange numbers there.
  10. G-man !! I'll certainly have your list on site as I go thru the craziness. Off the top of the noggin - Yes on the fenders , maybe on the windshield , there was a sweet Stage I dash up here btween us but I think that may be locked in with ctsuba's stash - Estate issues there ......can't promise ...... bumpers we did have - Subafreak might have a set , if he doesn't let me know he saw this I'll bring it up to him. Mudflaps are a maybe , front valance - doubtful but you never know with my mess , side window seals- gotta think no initially but I do have a box of NOS rubber that was misc. from '69-79 so there IS A CHANCE ......let us pray. LOL Hope things are well for you my young brother ! Cheers!
  11. Andrew here in CT drove that Brat in gold to our donor friend and said it was a very scary experience. Looks like it's sat over vegetation for years. If you guys grab those bolt on center caps from those wheels I'll take care of you. Probably should make a list and what I'll pay , will get that going before Friday.
  12. I'm sure hoping when I unwrap my dashboards they are still uncracked. I should have a blue that was set aside for myself. But I was considering using a black interior I picked up in great shape. Not cheap ..... Sorry , these didn't just happen along and I've stored them at a cost. This weekend is shot but I'm attacking storage with a vengeance this year. Next weekend I'll get them out and shoot some fresh pics. Been so long but I think there are blue , black , and a saddle (tan).
  13. I know from my spare glass that they come loose. I always questioned that too , just not publicly. I'm guessing they were glued in although I don't recall seeing any glue residue.
  14. Hey thanks for the timely bump ! Portland CT ? LOL , just kidding. Hey New England has lots of subie spec shops.... I don't think I have that but you never know. In fact , my low mileage complete units (springs to knuckle etc) are locked in a building I can't get to , long story , probate , estate issues..... But I'll see what comes up. Meanwhile , Hey NorthEast people of vintage 70's , time to make arrangements to stop by my storage and get stuff , help out , pretend to have fun too. Lol I DO HAVE: New fenders , 72-77 stage one and 77-79 stage two- brat to '81 you know the deal Some wheels Bumpers Seats Dashboards uncracked The vintage goodness you want. Try me. Bad weekends: April 30 - May 1 Will add more as light sheds
  15. And this is NOT xxxxxxxxx's stuff , right? I'm sorry to ask. I don't think his town is so redneck/rural but geez one Brat looks like one I sold to him. And others look familiar too. Put that together with your mention of British stuff and my mind speculates. Good luck. We here have the "Charlie Situation" which runs parallel to your deal. Only problem is an auction , probate , hoarding/greed ..... So enjoy the privacy and pickability Only thing I'm curious about is the gen one brat and what kind of 70's stuff there may be. Have fun !
  16. Check with Earl - pooparu - on this board. He may have them made already.
  17. And if you want a shop with a long history etc. but of course the cost = ouch! then F & S in Waterbury. They have their own parts yard etc.
  18. I'll ask him but then again he might see this and just reply. What part of CT are you in? Best guru I know is out east. I don't want to overload him so we'll let him reply. Western CT I'd say find Angelo in Norwalk if he's still going and I expect he would be. Was near Strawberry Hill off East Ave. Used to be Paul St. Germaine up around I-84 Wolcott area but he closed his old shop but I'm pretty sure he's still going. Some little shop in Rt.10 in Milldale above Cheshire is an obvious Subaru specialty shop. Charlie Miller who works at Premier in Branford if you can get him off to the side. Master Tech. Nick's Motor Service south end of Hartford too but I think he may have retired but the shop looks to still be going. His boy and another guy may be running it with a new name. Northwest corner looks to have some hotshot Subaru specialty place too these days. Certainly based around the STi crowd. That's CT from my perspective. We lost Charlie D - ctsuba - last year. Guru Good luck!
  19. Haha , I just read Leeroy's post. Please tell us what the fuel pump is doing and what you see through the float chamber porthole. And pardon me if the carb doesn't have a window.
