Was there once a winch in front? Might be a relay for that reason or ? My 78 wagon has the same relay. It was for a winch.

How about the 72-79 cars and the 155/80 R13 ? Are they more available in other countries? Central American market?

Before going further take the fuses out , especially the bottom two , and pull on the metal ends if the fuse. You may have what many of us have seen- fuse seperation. It looks great from just looking it over. Good luck

Welcome! Rinse thoroughly ! Keep any mud and road grime off the underside and where there are holding spots like the fuel filler tube and behind the front fender tails where they meet the front doors. A good job is to take those lower bolts out and just gently flex the fender tail out while you hose our the build up. Similar routine for over the rear wheels with the plastic splash guards/wheel well protectors and any moldings. It's the RUST that'll kill your Subaru early. Caffeine and Carburetors - google it. Next meet could be the last. This has been a great event which has grown out of hand. Your chance to park your elder or special interest Subaru next to something like a McLaren or other exotic. No kidding. These days they have put the more important cars together up front and the lesser makes get the side lots , which is fine. If you're still reading and haven't searched this out please do. It's downtown New Canaan CT right near the train station. Don't worry about somehow missing it , you won't. I'll be at the next one with my 78 4wd wagon. It's September 7th !!! Be smart and leave early , get there early , like 8am , and you'll see an incredible display and be heading home by 10 if you hustle a little. It's a quick yet packed event that will completely stun you. No judging !!! Also , no jackasses !!! Do Not spoil the event with loudness , etc. Read that website of theirs please. Still curious about stampings on block and heads for the FE. I've passed one FE engine along and supposedly it had the cam and pistons , etc. But the FE also had a taller 2nd and 5th gear to help. So those trannies should also have a special designation. Those get that car up towards 50mpg, highway.

The top pic with the flying saucer center cap , that is from a Jackman wheel for first gen. I have them new in boxes. The ugly rounded wheels shown are probably whatever you guys say they are.

Yes , you can see they did a makeover let's call it. Very sure I have an excellent black passenger seat. Not sure about letting mine go until I decide if I'm going to convert my own interior or keep it blue.

Another thing.... You have a four door automatic. Slow but an absolute old lady car. And those are most of what you will find when coming across a true to life old lady car. One of us might have a rear seat back for you. Pretty sure I passed one along to ctsuba. He definitely has them in 79 blue.

Find of the Year, maybe!! Looks like an original to me. I've had super low mileage old lady cars and that looks right on par. Maybe I missed it but does it still have the warning decal on the drivers door up high? That's a cold weather carb shield. You can do without it this time of year. The paint could be original. Holmgren Subaru - "The General" Tom Holmgren is the guy I bought my first rig from. He or they , used the Sno-Way on his dealership lot for years mounted on an 80's 4wd. Nick from Motor Service in Hartford did the same. He wouldn't sell his fiberglass blade and had two set ups , the other a metal blade.

My experience here is next to nobody knows much about them. And there's plenty of folks who don't believe you can use one and not destroy your Subaru. But as we all can see they do exist and folks have used them.

See if Danny W - "drivesubies" has those rocker panels. There's plenty of parts out there for these cars but finding the cars is the hard part. Good luck with it. "Ctsuba" has lots of parts too if you can get him.

Just checked and I do have your number. Again, sorry to not PM but I can't seem to get that to work on here. No sweat on lodging. We're all booked until we leave on Monday. I'll try to convince my son to drive north. Unfortunately we are in a rental tiny Chevy thing , can't recall the name but it's funky and tiny. Tomorrow it's back to Wrigley. I'm in the Windy City this weekend. Sunday is fairly open. Would be great to meet n greet the one and only Miles Fox and any of you fellow Subathusiast. If you guys were able and willing there is a cool elk preservation park here in Elk Grove just west of the city. There are at least two babies among the elk if you wanted to bring kids or women. We are staying right across the street at the Sheraton Or I might be able to drive up to 'waukee. Would be way cool if we could stay local as my son is a huge Chicago fan all around and it's our first time here with much to see in a short stay. Miles, I know you're busy and have a family so if it's any trouble don't sweat it. We'll be at Wrigley for today and tomorrow's games , both mid afternoon games. Cheers!

J will only be on One spoke

Look close at each spoke. You will see the "J" for Jackman. They came in boxes marked Jackman - Made for Subaru. I have those boxes. The more curved spokes are for later generations. The flat spokes are 75-79 and Gen I Brat.
