  1. Very interested. Pics from Shawn would be great. We know you're very busy Shawn thanks very much if you can. More direct to moosens at yahoo I have mechanicals and a few goodies for it. Any Snug-Tops around CO ? Or any topper.
  2. I'm on my way !! Might take me a decade or so but I'm on my way .... D - Happy New Year !!
  3. I don't think any additive will help , but maybe it'll loosen up that valve enough and leave a coating on it your oil doesn't , so it won't stick. I'm not opposed to trying especially since trying the least expensive method works best on the budget. We've heard various causes , some of which you've covered already. "Crack in the coil pack ' , "arching spark wires" , etc...all possible. But you've done your best to eliminate those I see. You guys get New Years before us so have a GREAT one! Cheers!
  4. No , we ended up getting in an accident with that car and dumping it off. I recall a top notch master Subaru tech telling me about this issue. I know its awkward for many people but see if you can go by a dealer and get an older tech off to the side. They'll be able to explain it better. Something to do with the manuacturing where that last valve sits out and gets more cold and condensation .... causes it to stick. Correction would require some labor for sure. Valve job or head replacement most likely. We would get on the highway entrance ramp and have the SAME problem act up in almost the exact same place every time. I had thoughts that there was something external causing it like some sci-fi magnetic force ...LOL I swear it was happening every time and in the same spot.Once we'd get past the next mile or so it'd improve , but not without sometimes having to just pull over and let it correct itself at idle. VERY annoying.
  5. Sorry to hear about the VA inspection. First thought is to find that light in the back of the dash and disconnect it. Good luck.
  6. In that shape that's what's going to happen. Sorry , I've been there and I can tell you that when people are serious about a certain vehicle they will pick it apart , just as you would , and cut you down for every little thing they see. I know its a bit frustrating , but given the economy I think $1500 is about it for the condition. Please , don't get upset , but I'm going to go through your listing now and give you an idea of what the "other guy" thinks. Four pictures is rather limited to the potential buyer. If they see the scars and dents like yours show you'd better balance that out with clear shots of the underside which is what's most important to the buyer - assuming the buyer is an enthusiast. I can excuse what the exterior looks like if its not going to need huge amounts of work underneath. I can't tell that from your four pics. Working left to right - pic 1 - Scarred up fender and front valance looks rough. Anyone who's after these for some time probably knows the front valance for a 4WD is difficult to find in great shape. Fenders aren't so easy either. Half stiped hood? Looks suspicious. Makes me think the driver's side took a nose nudge. Steel wheels , nothing horrible there but a buyer probably would lean into it more if it showed some spoked wheels. Pic 2 - Rear window about to fall out !! That's what the other guy sees. You and I know better but still its too rough around that glass. There's WORK to be done there too. Silly stuff hanging in the windows and Mc D's cup looks like a young owner who did not take the car too serious. Home made bumper not horrible but far from orininal and nothing to really brag about. Pic 3 - Not a great blue on the air filter box. Stands out to anyone who knows these cars. Rust on the deck under the wiper motor. If I'm buying a car I have to pay to get transported I want it solid. Clean that up and spray a pale yellow over it to remove that from people's minds. OR take that donut out and show the complete deck if its not like that corner and people will see the overall solidness in that area and disregard the small issue by the wiper motor. And , that donut could be a full size steel wheel to give the buyer more confidence that they are buying from someone who fully cared for the car. Would be better to show the deck clean and the spare off to the side or in its place in an extra shot. Pic 4 - Nothing horrible there but the tach and switches added look awkward. Mis-matched horn pad. The usual cracked dash. Covers are cheap on eBay. I know you're not going to go get one but be sure to tell the potential buyer that they are out there and maybe even add a link to one of the suppliers of dash mats or covers.Missing gas pedal. Again , stuff hanging and flame seat covers only make me think I'm dealing with someone young who really doesn't know or care for this car. The description - You lost me on the first line !! "Badass" ??? Poor writing....I'm obviously dealing with a kid here. I'm out ! That's the basic thought of the guy over 35-40 , and like it or not that's a realistic market share. Put much less of YOU into the description - your phrases , your perspective , your example of your uncle's cheffy ..... I know you probably want to throw things are me now , but I'm just trying to help you sell it. Third party interventions are not always pleasing but can be used as a guide. I hope you come to take this post in the right way. I suggest you print my post and start going around the car and correcting or more well hiding what was mentioned. Take the listing down now before more people see it. Now you're on your second eBay run and people looking have seen it twice. Come back and in the new listing title put something that makes the viewer see you've made improvements. That's my opinion. Best of luck with it. Please keep in mind i've just spent time I really don't have to do this so please take it as constructive and not a trashing. Cheers!
  7. I thought the subject title was "If you've sought parts from my stash" ..... Mostly trying to get the stuff people asked for previously so I can feel better about finally accomplishing that goal. BUT >>>>>> since you guys are also vintage heads I'll surely consider your requests. I think I may have the tail lights. Should have an engine , sure do have a tranny , but please give me until GOOD WEATHER before we even try to get those large items going. I've gotten engines and trannies shipped to me but have only shipped a tranny once or twice. Sorry , but absolutely NO 14" or 15" wheels in four lug. Have some Legacy five lug 14" steels and I think a set of alloys - not horrible but certainly used. They were going to be my winter set but I probably could cut them loose if someone needed them. Super cold weather and snow coming so forget about me going to storage much , if at all , the next three days.
  8. 77 is both Stage 1 1977 here is like the previous run. Stage 2 is late 77 thru 79. But what I'm thinking about early and late is that the 72-75 era had slightly different clocks and radios too. No biggie. I should have a black panel for you from a 75 4wd wagon which has a fancy design. Can you please send or post a pic of exactly which type you have? I also have 1979 panels in black but might change my interior over to that color. Was going to see how it looks come springtime.
  9. EW - I was indeed thinking about you. Going thru pics I see a major stash of FF-1 parts we gathered at ctsuba's. Where that box is I'm not sure. But a grill should be a lot easier to locate. I'll work on that Tuesday or soon after. Earl- pooparoo - I called you the other morning when I was in the thick of it all. I've set aside the rear seat upper and lower and at least one front seat. We'll talk soon. But yes I had you in mind. Petey, working on it Tuesday or very soon after. Cool !!! Thanks for the shoulder taps. Cheers!
  10. I'm guessing for a Brat? Not likely the panels , but ctsuba may still have some door panels. Also - Tommy (biffanyus)? might be able to help you out. The remote (inside) door handle covers I might have. They are highly desired and I also have a blue interior so I'll do my best but can't promise on those. Steering column I'm pretty sure I have or its at ctsuba's place. Do you want an entire column or just the sleeve cover? I might have that sleeve in a box of int. parts. I should still have two spoke steering wheels in blue and brown , amybe black too.
  11. Being winter I may consider it ... Just checking my gallery. there's a good amount of wheels there and some parts for folks to look over. And I'll be adding more , hopefully soon. Bottoms up !!
  12. You'll be happy to know that my storage issues and much less now. I can more easily access my " stuff in the back of the unit".... Storage unit , that is. So if we once had conversation about any old parts feel free to tap on my shoulder. Most everything I have is 70's Please , only 70's parts requests for now. I'll also be listing the few 80's items I have and early 90's Legacy/impreza stuff down the road. I have lots of interior pieces, turn signals, tail lights , and way in the back still tricky to get to I have large and heavy items like 4wd transmissions and front end protectors, engines , some fenders too. Happy frikkin New Year !!
  13. I'm now able to get to things much easier now since my battle with storage on Saturday. I had in my hands a 76 GF dashboard with a clock. Should have one or two loose somewhere in a box as well. Thinking now the ones that say Citizen on them are later not earlier 70's I'll get digging today and in the coming weeks. Anything else while I'm sifting?
  14. Flat four fanatic would be a great name too.... Welcome! I've got a bunch of grey interior pieces from a 99 outback and I think a couple exterior trim etc. "Ctsuba" should have some good Green panels from that same car. Just incase you need something. Enjoy!
  15. The one on eBay is new and the seller is a great guy and member here. There was only one transmission offered for the 78 brat. I have at least one good used if you can't score local. Shipping will be around $140 and I'd want $150 for the unit. Other members have some too. Good luck. You have the chance to replace all seals while it's out so I recommend doing that and the shifter bushings too.
  16. Keep in mind how the numbers are shrinking but popularity is not. You would do yourself good to keep certain parts for your keeper. But selling an extra shell I can see. Storage can be a pain sometimes. Rear jump seats in nice shape sell for over $150 and more with working seatbelts. I once shipped a gen II brat topper from CT to CO so there's always a buyer out there.
  17. notice how I put "drivesubies" next to his name.....try that. He's on eBay as "dannybreadman"
  18. Pre-79 you normally got one. I've seen a few where the owners insist it always had two so maybe as an option you could get the passenger side - pre 1979. In 79 they definitely outfitted many Brats and 4WD Wagons with the passenger side mirror. I think in some states it became mandatory around that year. Danny W. - drivesubies - should have those new whenever he gets around to digging them out. I have maybe one or two new in my stash but those are way buried right now and one goes to my wagon. If Danny can't come through just be patient and watch eBay.
  19. Yeah , I hope the next guy who owns it shares some pics. I should have saved the shots the seller had up on the listing. It was beyond factory. But like I said I think that's in this case , a GOOD thing..
  20. Search eBay and check the menu on the left for "Completed Items". Next time I log in there I'll grab it if someone else doesn't get it first.
