Thanks whftom! -
Roach Auto's database it very inaccurate. They will sell you a wrong stuff and you will pay return shipment. It is possible to rebuild steering pump. The only problem is the copper gasket. I bought a set of gasket material from Kragen and cut a gasket myself. Three thousand miles and still no leaks. Good luck, Sam

I would let some air in. Try to use a tiny screw driver of something to let some air in. If it does not work you will have to loosen the band. Good luck, Sam

A question for the information I found in the FSM in the link I provided earlier. 43.7 teeth. Do you really need to count that precisely if all the marks are lined up? Another question is about the tightening torque: 135 ft/lb and then turn a number of degrees. What do they mean? Regards, Sam

Buy rags from HF. They work. Buy tools somewhere else.

cam seal retainer bolt hole stripped
somick replied to dltrial's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I remember grossgarry said that you can use a longer bolt since there are some threads left in there. I hope it will work as well. Good luck, Sam -
'88 DL Air Conditioning, Climate Control Problems.
somick replied to agzmdv1's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Even with little vacuum the blower still should run blowing air from the center vents. There should be some kind of switch that turn the blower motor on when any button is pushed. Regards, Sam- 5 replies

coolant burping question ea82
somick replied to Cmosfet's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
New thermostat is a new thermostat. When cold squeeze top and bottom hoses until no bubles come out. Park it on a hill nose up with the radiator cap off and wait for the thermostat to open. Some coolant will leave the radiator when the coolant start expanding. I usually use turkey baster to suck it out. Close the radiator cap and bring the expansion tank level to medium: between low and full marks. Good luck, Sam -

The fan comes on when the AC is on. Does your switch get power when you turn your AC to ON? Sam
