How do I get the steering wheel off of my justy?
somick replied to djkindt's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
As far as I rememer on Loyale you should go probably 20-30 degrees towards you and rest ot the force should go up. Sort of pushing up with your thumbs meantime pointing fingers pull toward you. Good luck! Sam -
How do I get the steering wheel off of my justy?

I do not know about your particular model, but as a rule of thumb you are going to need a harmonic balancer puller or a similar tool. Remove the plastic covers and signal. Undo a nut (probably 22 mm) use your puller. Sam -
When did you change your thermostat? By the way from my experience the faster you go the more airflow you get on your radiator. So it should cool better. Sam

This is normal. Brake booster uses engine vacuum. Sam

92 Loyale. EA82 engine. to remove AC compressor out of your way you need to remove 3 if I remember it right bolts. The fourth one, the very leftmost one has a cut out. Loosen it couple of turns and lift up the entire assembly. I finally finished creating a new picture: https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/113054849876116872599/albums/5881597976206556225/5881597978712456594?pid=5881597978712456594&oid=113054849876116872599 Sam

92 Loyale thermostat question
somick replied to somick's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thank you, robaru! That what I have done couple of days ago. Parked it on the slope. I was very tired. Closed the radiator cap one click. When it got warm I decided to see how much collant I have got in it. Got sprayed with hot antifreez. Fortunatelly for me most of it went into the engine bay. We have to be carefull! Thanks again, Sam -
It takes a lot of time to warm up the car. The needle goes almost into the red zone and then drops down to about the middle of the gauge. So I figured out that it is time to replace a thermostat. 154,000 miles is enough for the original one. Haynes manual warns that aluminum radiators require "multi-stage" thermostat. Do you guys know what that means? Question 2: Haynes recomended temperature ratings:188 to 193 degrees F. Stores carry 160, 180, 192, 195. Since I live in San Diego, CA, should I go by the lower temperature? Thank you, Sam

Timing belt component kit. Good deal or rip off?

Thank you, 86subaru. I will buy it from them. Sam -
A link like the one below appeared on USMB a week or so ago. Did anybody buy it from them? The price of 70 dollars sounds too good but their transaction history loooks good too. What do you think? In case you still need it. vin_code_lookup.pdf -
On my Isuzu manual windows I used graphite powder. It worked fine for few months. Than I had to redo it again. My power windows on Subaru work intermitently. So do not know if the powder will work here. I have never tried it. Sam

I have just checked my first "original" sensor. Believe it or not but it is Bosh universal. It lasted 7 years. From 1992 to 1999. The car is 1992 Loyale FWD W/AT. Sam -

92 Loyale 4x4 needs purge control valve
somick replied to shorepig's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
A dealer wanted $95 for it. I bought it a junk yard for $4.99. It is very easy to change it: one srew and one connector. I am not sure but I belive you may fail the emisions test if you keep driving. Sam
