  1. and ....always have your camera handy!! I am glad you fixed it!!!
  2. You will need a special tool to turn the piston, but I've seen people doing it with needle nose pliers. A very important note: make sure a notch in the caliper is located the same way it was before you started turning it (not sure but I think it's in the bottom). Otherwise the pad would not seat right. Sam
  3. Yes, the metal pipe that comes out of the heater core. It looks like it seats rignt on the top of the engine. The L-shaped rubber hose 5/16 in diameter connected to this metal line goes up into the throttle body. I have a post about it. Tried to replace it with the regular hose but it would not hold long (no more than 12 months). And yes I had small puddles in this area when it leaked. They evaporate real fast, so it's hard to diagnose if you don't do it right away. Sam
  4. I had a broken wire in my old Chevy that went from the car into the door. Considering the age of the car that might be it. I also heard about poor contact in the connectors inside the door itself.
  5. I've done mine three times!!! Passenger side was done twice (tried to save $$ and did not replace outer boot and it went bad in 3 weeks).

  8. As far as I know R/L front cam shaft seals, but I've never done it. Timing should not take you long, since you start the procedure by aligning the flywheel with the timing maks.
  9. http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?p=15718#post15718 These instructions are a very good . It helped me a lot. I bookmarked it a while ago. I was not even aware about USMB at the time. Now images don't work, but I'm behind the firewall. Anyway, I've done timing belts couple of times. Feel free to ask me questions if you get any. I've found Miles Fox's link with good pictures: http://www.economysuperstar.com/milesfox/subaru/service/timingbelt.htm Sam
  10. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList.aspx?parttype=801&ptset=A&searchfor=Valve+Cover+Grommets http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/catalog.php?carcode=1270134&parttype=5492&partGroup=20&EPImodelID=6148&EPIengineID=3437 Both sets mention "9 per car"
  11. A very easy way to check timing belts: There are two small windows in the front timing belt covers. Just pop them with a screwdriver and stick your finger inside. DON'T crank the engine!!!
  12. When I burnt my heater core I got the same symptoms: Lost coolant, Coolant smell, Foggy windows. Do you happen to get fog on your windows? Try to bypass the heater. If you stop loosing coolant that's the problem
  13. 1992 Loyale w/AT. An “L” shaped ¼ hose that goes from the throttle body to the metal heater line on the top of the engine (EA82). The original one lasted me about 8 years. I keep replacing it with the regular hose but it does not last long (about a year). I’ve been thinking of switching to a high pressure fuel line but still don’t know if it’s going to hold it longer (plus the cost: about $14 for a foot at Kragen). Dealer wants $13 for the new one. Doesn’t sound like a big deal, but I woukd rather support USMB!!! then the dealer. Any suggestions? The second question is how to support the site? It is really GREAT!!! (and I want that little DONOR icon at the bottom of my user name………. Even if it’s not tax deductable!!!!!!!! Thanks
  14. Hi Bella, I've just found your post. Check out this site: www.rockauto.com Pick the right vehicle type. When you get to the gaskets (keyword "Valve cover") there should be a button "More info" or something like this. Click on it and in the separate window you'll see the image of the gaskets. A week ago I bought a set for $11.00 + shipping. As far as I know they ship overseas too. I don't know if they accept Romanian currency. Good luck!!!
  15. That might be the common problem. I have the same problem with my 92. Do you wait long enough? In my case after 3-5 minutes it makes it mind and starts delivering air through the port it's been asked.
  16. On my 92 Loyale the larger lever will lift the steering column all the way up. The small one is so called custom lever wil also lift the column up. But when you press it down it will stop at your "custom" level (the one has been preset). Regards, Sam
  17. Hey, Sweden, When you fix it (I have no doubt you will) please let us know what it was. Wish you good luck!!!!!!!!!
  18. Open the glove box and stick your hand in the upper leftmost corner of it. Pretty easy to do. If you pull the clock out you may jerk the harness. It'll help to find the connector
  19. I've never posted any threads before. I hope I'm in the right spot. I have a question about replacing a valve cover gaskets on EA82 for 1992 Loyale FWD. Can I do it without removing engine and timing belt? Question No. 2. (if I can do it without removing engine) Do I need to use RTV sealant on rubber gaskets? Question No. 3 (if I need to use RTV sealant) which one to use? And one more question. Do I need to use RTV sealant for the oil pan gasket? A little bit information about a car. I have 150 000 miles on it. When it was under warranty (what a nice time it was!) after the routine check up the dealer stated: “Oil leak…” Probably that was the same problem because I can see some gray stuff sticking out of the seams.
