  1. I bought a multimeter today. Symptoms- No spark, no CEL, no power to the ECM(guessing). Where do I start?
  2. It seems as if the CPU is not getting power? The CEL doesnt come on, neither does the monitor light? It was on last night?!? Could this be from a bad CPU or what? I looked around and see nothing unhooked.

  4. I think it is the coil. I am not getting any spark. How can I check the actual coil? I tried disconnecting the wire from the middle of the disty, held a screwdriver to it and did not get any spark. I also tried taking out a spark plug and did not get any spark either. How can I check if the coil is getting power without a voltometer? Also, the CEL does not come on anymore when I turn the key halfway to "Accessory" It has ALWAYS came on before. Possibly burnt bulb? But it worked last night.
  5. Wow. Now my damn car wont start at all. I reset the ecu last night, and plugged in the o2 sensor. It ran like a champ no problems at all. Now I goto start it this morning and it will not fire, just crank. I need my damn car to work. I have no one able to give me a ride to school because I live far from everyone else. And there is no bus either.
  6. They did not, I know this because my clock was still regular, and I had all my radio presets still. I tried to reset the cpu again(by removing negative wire for a few minutes). We'll see what happens today..
  7. Heres the story, I drove my 93 Loyale 5spd for almost 6 months with NO exhaust and NO o2 sensor and had NO problems other than the CEL for o2 sensor. So after getting some money together I managed to get enough to pay for a new exhaust built. The shop did a great job for the most part. I had to go back because it started a leak(the hanger came un-welded, creating a small hole) and while I was there I had them weld in a NEW Bosch o2 sensor. OK great. The car runs fine and has no more CEL and no problems. So yesterday(the next day) the car developes a weird stalling issue for no apparent reason? As I am cruising through a parking lot at about 2500RPM the engine RPMs drop to zero(car shuts off, CEL flashes 1 time.) and the car keeps driving. It did this probably 4 times on the way home(30 minutes or so) it does it completely randomly no matter what gear, rpms, if the clutch is in, etc. It feels very similar to if your driving and turn the ignition key off then on really fast. I drive the car home and check around under the hood but dont see anything unusual. Today (first day of 12th grade) I am on my way to school and the car stalls off and on about 3 times within 5 minutes, on the 3rd time the car stalls and wont fire. I crank it for a few minutes with no luck, so I pop the hood and pull the o2 sensor wires apart hoping it would fix it. I cranked the car with no luck and then it finally fired. I drove the car to school and it did it 2 times(but did not actually TURN OFF.) I then drove the car home and it did it about 3 times and turned off 2 times, both while the clutch was in, when I was coming to a stoplight/sign. Keep in mind that the car does this 100% randomly. I need to fix this immediately. The only thing that I can think of is that when he welded the o2 sensor in he possibly fried something(he did not disconnect the battery). Or because of WHERE he welded it, it isn't giving an accurate reading?(I dont think this now because it does it regardless of the o2 sensor plugged in or not.) What could this possibly be? The plugs, wires, cap, rotor, pcv, fuel filter, air filter, have all been changed within 6 months. I have also cleaned the MAF 6 months ago. The picture on the left is the "stock exhaust" and the right is the "new exhaust" the yellow dot represents the o2 sensor. The car CEL does not turn on EXCEPT 1 flash when it does the stalling thing. Where do I start? PLEASE HELP!!!! Thanks, Tyler
  8. Well i was driving along and my AC started sqealing, so I think this is normal, so I turn it on and off a few times, and it doesnt stop. But then the ac stops blowing cold and it stops squealing all together, so I instantly panic thinking its the compressor. But after looking under the hood, i discover the rear belt had broken(the one that doesn't go around the alternator). At the same time my car started back up with the TOD :-\ So this all happened at 1:30pm, by the time I get tools and get a new belt its 1:45, and by the time i got that GODDAMN belt on its 3:00. Then when I was tightening everything back up, the top alternator bolt snapped, and the bottom threads on the alternator became stripped. So then I had to spend more money at Autozone. Oh, and i was supposed to be at football practice at about 2:00. oops. So my question is, what exactly does that belt drive? for some reason i was thinking oil pump? And, Why was it so hard to get on even with the tensioner undone?
  9. Well after looking on eBay, I found a pair of Gabriel struts for 25.00. This is a much better price than the 66$ each from Advance Auto Parts. Would this be a good time to replace clicking CV joints as well? Or atleast will it make it easier to do it now than on another day?
  10. I am a street only 'ru (from now on ) But I would still like to keep factory height. What are your thoughts on used struts from a donor vehicle? How hard are they to replace for a mechanically inclined 17 year old? Do i need a spring compressor? My camber is supposed to be at like 1.75 but it is at 3.56 or something like that.

So a long while ago, I was having a lil off road/rally fun.....and at the time the car was perfectly alighned.....it severely messed up the alighment causing the front tires to wear all the way to the threads over the next few weeks.....So today I got BRAND NEW EXHUAST!!! AND new tires and an alignment. However, the mechanic said theres is no way to adjust the camber on the vehicle. (92 Loyale 5spd. 4WD.) He thought that the strut was bent, causing most of the problem. What are your thoughts on this? Should I replace the struts or what? Junkyard or new?
  12. Yea me and my buddy have a 91 crown vic for burnouts/mudding/drifting/fun! Custom ghetto lift!, Cowl Scoop, WELDED rear end, CUSTOM paint, will strait up runover trees without even a mark lol. oh and gotta love the bright *** KC Daylighters! oh and BTW. Those are 33's in the back. Oh and we chopped the exhaust off before the mufflers. You have NO idea how much fun this thing is. Yea I have an adventure story about it as well..... One night we decided to go out to Sun Harvest. It's a big orange grove/acres of land/mud pit. So were out there at midnight, even though your not supposed to be there, especially because its really dry because FL needs rain. Well were out there and running over some trees and anything else we come across(the car is an absolute beast!). We ram this big *** tree REALLY hard but after the 2nd ram it still falls down. After that we get back on the trail and we here this tapping/knocking so we thought that we ****ed up the valves, so we stop, get out, open the hood, FIREE!!!! Were freaking out trying to open the ****ing trunk because theres water and **** in there, LUCKILY we get the fire put out. Then we think FOREST FIRE?!?! So we look over and see red/orange-ish light and the 5 of us TAKE OFF AT A DEAD SPRINT with jugs of water in our hand, luckily when we get there we realize that the light is only from this building in the distance. And it turned out that the noise was just 24561465 vines wrapped on the driveshaft. That was so scary at the time. I was trying to find the video but I deleted off my phone. Damn.
