thanks guys - ill give that a try....hmm....it just sounds like its the hatch...and when I hold the tailgate and shake it it moves - rattles.. i'll check those springs... mabey it isn't the hatch? Thanks.

Hey Guys, Anyone have any tips on fixing an annoying rear hatch rattle - 98 outback wagon? I can't deal with it anymore. Thanks.
