  1. the one in my car is OK, I just want a project to work on to build it up. if you want it back you can have it cause I've realized its not a project I'm gonna get around to till this summer.
  2. yeah, I moved it around a little bit, I'm gonna cut up the front fenders tomorrow. but really, its PERFECT in the back.
  3. ok here are a couple pics, more later when I get it back together(and driving around the block... enjoy :-) oh yeah, these are the tires that came with the rims, they are 31x10.50x15s, they are a perfect fit, I'm pretty sure if I wanted to I could fit 33x11.50x15s pretty easy, but I think I'm gonna go with some 31 inch bfgs or swampers.
  4. those police style push bumpers are pretty sweet, not the solid ones but the ones that have like those big rubber bands or whatver theyre called that absorb some of the shock I wish I could get my hands on one of those...
  5. ok, vice grips made in china = HORRIBLE... I finally got my brake lines on, ended up having to cut the old ones(duh) and pull out it out with the hardline that goes to the rear cylinders and stick that sucker on my vice with some vice grips. after I took the vice grips off, the jaws didnt line up any more, one stuck out about a half inch further than the other one. I guess its worth the $30 for some good american made vice grips vs the harbor freight chinese ones for like $4. ... if I cant get the exhaust on in another hour I'm taking the thing to an exhaust shop
  6. honestly... I dont see how anyone would have a problem with the logo being used. You are using their logo, with their name on it, to advertise a show of products, WHICH THEY SELL.
  7. I dont think that will be necessary, I'm bring my uncle along in his 81 yota pickup...
  8. hey sorry.. I had trouble wrestling with my exhaust last night, I dont want to take any pictures untill I've at least driven it around the block. camber up front is still pretty bad lol
  9. hey, its a light car with the same 4wd system as there are on larger suvs and trucks, and with narrower and shorter wheelbase... big truck performance in a little package
  10. 6" lift, probably 30x9.5x15 BFG M/Ts, I want to get superswampers, but they dont have the size I'm looking for in a tire that will last worth a darn on the street.
  11. okay, so after about 3 weeks of sitting while I've been getting my lift on there, I got all the hoses taken care off, still trying to get off old stuck brake lines(correct size flare wrench rounded off the nut, and now I cant get the wrench off, can you believe that?). anyways the parking brake works fine at least. the one major thing I overlooked, is the wire that goes from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid/relay whatever, isnt long enough so when I dropped the engine 6" it disconnected and I wasted about half an hour trying to figure out why the thing wouldnt turn over. anyways, havent driven it around the block yet, will shortly. the camber is still all messed up, but we'll see what it looks like once I drive it a little bit, also I got a bit too much toe in also, so that leads me to believe that it will be fine once my suspension settles a little bit. not gonna worry too much about it untill I get new tires. pics tonight... soooo psyched about this...
  12. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!(*^@#(&^*@&$%*^ I'll be down in LA in late august... ok, someone is gonna need to look like me, and drive my car there and take many pictures and videos so I can say i was there...
  13. ok... I'm in for sure as long as there is someone there to pull me out if I break down, my wagon is almost back together, still need brakelines, exhaust, coolant/fuel lines, shocks and need to extend the shifter linkage(btw I thought of a REALLY great easy way to do this, but it will have so much slop it'll be like driving an old truck w/ 4 on the floor...) where abouts is exit 63? on I5? also I might get my uncle to come in his toyo pickup... anyone I can call to get more info?
  14. well, personally, if you scrapped it, give it to me instead. but with headgaskets and all that, if a fluid can go one way, it can just as easily go another. if the car is in otherwise decent enough shape, I fix it even though I dont have the time.
  15. hmm.... I think I should share an idea of mine with you guys, I've had a couple of ideas going through my mind about how to get some added articulation out of the rear on an ea81... might work good on a later model subaru as well. as soon as I can get it on paper I'll show you guys
  16. yeah there is some kind of tubing/hosing you can use, not sure if you want to use rubber hose tho because gas and oil have a tendancy to eat it away after a while... just took a gas tank off my uncles old 78 ford, and the vent and fuel filler lines looked like they were just heater hose. not sure what the hose out of your car is made out of, but it sounds like it might be metal/plastic? I'd just go measure the diameter, get the same diameter heater hose or something and clamp it on. another thing that works great is that silicon rtv gasketmaker stuff, slap some of that all around where you are leaking and tape it up or cut up an old innertube or something and wrap it around it and clamp it on with some hose clamps.... usually you only need the gasketmaker, but you do that and it will last a little bit longer ;-)
  17. and I thought this post would be about some guy lifting his sub encountering a problem... got my hopes up, i thought I'd actually help someone like I've been helped... meh
  18. might need a parascope or whatever its called before you need a snorkel...
  19. i dont think its possible for a justy to flip going up a hill... cause they are awd right? front and back arent locked... as soon as the front tires dont have enough weigh on them to have any traction, the rear isnt gonna keep pushing and its just gonna roll back down the hill, unless you hit the brakes and then you're screwed. I personally would wheel the snot out of that thing, I like how someone put it, great "hooligan" car... when you wheel that thing your not hauling around as much weight, so I think you can get away with throwing it around a whole lot more without having to worry bout it. thats just about the perfect height, maybe just a little bit higher than it needs to go considering how short it is, I'd keep the 4" lift and try to find slightly smaller, more aggressive tires... btw isnt this thread really old?
  20. hatches are one of all their own, modified or not... but there are millions of later model subarus out there, everyone and their mom has one, now, one with 12" of lift on 35" boggers would be one of the most unique things I will have seen. I dont think there is 1 out there.
  21. especially with the stock gauge, anything over 5psi is good for a subaru... 22psi isnt a lot to worry about. not sure about the head gaskets, but if its never been done, reseal the oil pump, and replace the sending unit or get an aftermarket oil gauge.
  22. it would be WICKED to see a late model outback cruisin around on 35s...
  23. no the engine is in it, but I have a spare in the back that needs to come out :-p I dont mean to slam your company, you guys are GREAT and pretty helpful... i kinda wish I could delete this thread cause it turned into a differant kinda monster...
