The Subaru 360 was only imported to America. The West coast ports got the most, some were put on trains to the mid west and East. They did not sell well, nor were they accepted here in the US. Europe and Austrailia didn't get any either....

Willamette Motor Club's Oregon state fairgrounds Paterson Memorial Autocross in Salem Oregon Sunday Aug. 5th 2012. What a riot !. Have you ever wondered if a tiny 25hp Subaru 360 Sedan and a Novice driver could compete against cars with 500hp? It shocked me and everyone how well my little 1969 Subaru 360 Sedan did. It wasn't the fastest car. No, as a matter of fact it was very hairy-scary. The good: It corners on dime, you point it, it goes! It is also balanced well. Crazy fun!, by far the most fun to drive. No cones were harmed, at least on all my runs I didn't knock over a single cone. It fits anywhere on track , there are no tight spots ! The bad: It's underpowered, but, thats good..... Ok. If it had more power it would go faster and I'd have rolled it like an egg. I did find it's cornering limits and it's scary. The Subie runs on the ragged edge of safe. The rear suspension is fixed, another words, there is no outer rear CV joint. So, at high speed corners when weight is shifted to lighten the rear it positive camber's a bunch. Whoa!. Pucker me timbers. What a ton of fun though.

The man speaks the truth, a lucky person can find a " rough " but running 360 for $ 700. bucks or so. Those days are slowly fading away now.

Last weekend's GPNW microcar show gave me some divine inspiration. I've been working on this project off and on a LONG time, recently I was overwhelmed with engineering a complete new front suspension. I got a needed project kick with some ideas. A gremlin mindblock unlocked so to speak. I spent a few hours this Saturday visualizing and mocking up my hybrid 4g63 turbo Mitsubishi powered Subaru 360 sedan's new front suspension. Working out the bump steer, kingpin angle, caster/camber details now. I want it to handle great

Old Parked Cars is a blog about cars parked on Portland Oregon streets. Portland is comparable to Cuba. No rust, mild climate, cheap licensing, 1974 and older are exempt from emissions. Old cars really thrive here. http://www.oldparkedcars.com/ Check out Sunday April 22, 2012. The OPC paparazzi got my Subaru 360 sedan in SE Portland *Casey's Green 1969 Subaru Sambar van was noted best of 2011

I always wanted to try exhaust flamethowing. After spending 8 hours installing two store bought pre-made Autoloc flamethrower kits that cost a lot and literally are Chinese JUNK. Each one burned out within a few tries. I made my own kit from two 30 amp relay's, a condensor, a .85 ohm ballast resistor, and a old Bosch coil. I tapped and screwed a spark plug in the exhaust pipe. It works well and cost about 30 dollars. I dont cut the spark to the engine ignition, although if I did the flames would be bigger, but, it risks fouling plugs. Two strokes already foul plugs easy enough. The video you see here are my preliminary tests. The key is getting enough raw fuel in the tail pipe to light off. Be careful out there if you try this yourself !!! It is real fire !!. I scared some innocent sidewalk cafe pedestrians pretty badly when driving by last night. I have since perfected my flame throwing methods. Lugging along in 2nd gear at 10 mph and pulling the choke makes some big flames come from a little car. I may get crazy and try injecting fuel to make big easy flames. Stay tuned.
