Nope. it was last weekend. I thought you were on my mailing list? I hate to say it...but, You missed the best show ever! Here's how I transported 5 cars ( 3 Subaru 360's to the show ) -

Hi Gang. The weather forecast is looking really fine. The 2011 Great Pacific Northwest Micro-Minicar Extravaganza is coming this weekend !. The microcar drive route for Sat. is set. We have three winery stops. Willakenzie, Carlton, and Elk Cove wineries. Lunch stop will be in the Evergreen Space Museum in McMinnville. I can't guarantee Sputnik but you will see a real SR71 Blackbird http://www.evergreenmuseum.org/# Expect sunny weather, bring sunscreen and fill up your fuel tank! The Sat. drive departs from the Hotel @ 10 am. The drive is easy 35 miles each way, with plenty of stops, all scenic back roads, 40 mph or so. We have a support rig following for breakdowns. What more to expect : Bring spending change for Wine tasting and Lunch. Most tasting flights are 10-15. The Cosmo Cafe located inside the space Museum has good lunch menu selection and is reasonable. Admission not charged to eat, you can however pay admission to view spacecraft up close. See http://www.mphspecialties.com/ for details and (as always) free registration. This year will be bigger and more fun than last. Mark

Towing with a Subaru 360 van
2stroketurbo replied to 2stroketurbo's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Thanks guys. No harm done. Blew a few minds is all. -
Doing more with less. Some say it 'couldn't' be done. Some say it 'shouldn't !' be done. Some people can't believe their eyes. Most people do double takes. Is it really real ? My minuscule mighty mite tow package equipped Subaru 360 van really moves my Messerschmitt. Not quickly, slow but sure. I mapped out a level route unfortunately plagued with trolley track construction. The roads were really torn up and bumpy. My top speed was 35 mph. I find it pretty amazing that a minimalistic motoring 360cc van can move itself + me + trailer + car on on trailer. This is my first venture towing with my Subaru 360 van. ( your results may vary! ). Lots of planning and precaution went into a successful cross town tow. Rain was in the forecast and it delivered. The 29th annual PTW Spring Classic was rainy but still had a good showing. I won no award but did get invited to the prestigious Portland Roadster Show next March. See you at the GPNW #7 "tow-show". Mark

Thanks guys, I appreciate your thoughts! I'm making the best of it...putting it back together now. Hope to make it better than new. -
not pretty

360's fit in full size truck bed with tailgate down. They are 4'x10' and weigh 800 Sedan-1200 van/truck lbs. Won't fit in a Brat. Sorry

We have had a wild winter. I managed to drive my little Subaru 360 sedan through most of it all. Wind-Rain-Snow-Cold. Normally, this car sits under a nice dry toasty car cover all winter. I created a quick compilation of video clips from my winter driving adventures with the 360. Quite fun. Spring is here now. So, it's time to move on to something new. Enjoy!

Something Unusual (1958 Goliath)
2stroketurbo replied to 1982gl4's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
That is cool. I've never seen a red one. There are a few here in Or. I know of 3 wagons, one is another with a sliding roof and sliding windows. I think it is 1957 with the really rare 2 stroke direct injection engine. The others have the single carb 4 strokes. There are 2 Goliath two door coupes just rusting away on two separate farms I've been trying for years to get. They are pretty far gone now. I have a Lloyd Alexander 600 wagon myself. I almost got a Goliath van with the aluminum body two stoke direct injection engine under the front seat, but someone beat me to it. He drives it around now in S. Or. The Goliath club is dead www.mphspecialties.com -

make your 360 unsiezeable
2stroketurbo replied to 2stroketurbo's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
I sandblasted, cleaned, and heated the pistons just like the directions say. Cooked them in my "Betty Crocker" toaster oven using my non-contact laser thermometer. Measured with digital calipers I'm happy as a clam. The engine has more power and idles higher. I have 10 more Subaru 360 engines to build. I just did a set of DKW 3=6 pistons. This stuff is awesome! I'm going to try 4 stroke pistons too. -

Directions are on the TDS. I cooked the pistons @ 350 for an hour and half. Directions state 300 for an hour is good. Hotter and longer will marginally improve resistance and durability.
