  1. Gary, I probably get you one from P&P down here if you have any trouble finding something up there. If I had more time before tomorrow, I'd just drop one off at your place but P&P is 1hour in the wrong direction.
  2. Amen, was looking for a 4x4 biodesiel that was economical but that was high dreaming and all the old 300's are expensive to fix. Would be a score to find a diesel that would the EA82 engine compartment and mate to the drivetrain without too much adapting. I've conceded to converting the subaru to propane right now. Got most of the parts already.
  3. Megasquirt won't need any of the stock vac lines hooked up expect for: Stock idle valve (unless using FIDLE or stepper motor) Map line to MS (new) Fuel pressure regulator Turbo wastegate lines Additionally you'd want to keep the brake booster line.
  4. Is the hill holder useful? Seemed other people have said it was too finicky to rely on. What size is the axle nut. The socket for my other cars is a 21/22mm? I think its 32mm for subaru.?
  5. According to GrossGary, the full time RX has a 3.7LSD rear so the trans is matched up to my stock 3AT turbo rear.
  6. Yeah, I have 4wd now. I'm not asking if I need the driveshaft for 4wd. I'm asking because I believe the AT and MT shaft lengths are different. From other threads, only the front half is different. Can someone confirm?
  7. Hello all, I have an 86 GL10 Turbo 3AT pushbutton. I am getting all the DR swap parts thanks to Gary from this car: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=53368 Late model RX (not sure of year) I have been reading on the swap for several weeks and gone back to just about every post I can find however different people post different things on the parts list. Can someone help me out to make sure this list is correct: DR Transmission Crossmember and long bolts Front half of drive shaft Clutch cable, pedal box, solenoids Flywheel Shifter, linkage and console Front axles - according to Miles full time is 25 spline, AT is 23 spline Not needed?: Rear half of driveshaft Rear end (RX is 3.7 LSD) Cluster (my digi works ok and I don't really care about having a low light or not) Anything else? THANKS!!!!!
  8. You'll need an adapter fitting from NAPA, its a British thread instead of NPT. Search the Old Gen forum and I'm pretty sure someone listed the thread size.
  9. Look at the diff tag and see if the two are the same. My turbo has 3.7 on it.
  10. Empty gas, fresh gas and fuel filter. Add 1/2 pint sea foam to gas tank. Add 1 pint sea foam to oil. Run for 30 minutes. New oil, filter, and sea foam to new oil. Change air filter. See if that helps clear things up.
  11. Thanks for the clarification, I haven't dealt with a vac distributor for the past ten years. With the line connected, my 86 has 25 degrees advance. Unhooking the green connector doesn't change anything.
  12. The vac line changes my idle timing by 8 degrees (advances).
  13. There is a screw to set minimum idle, look by the throttle arm. 750 sounds fine, isn't the spec 800 for AT?
  14. The vacuum at idle is about the highest the engine sees except for decel so it should have a fairly large impact on timing.
  15. Calebz, as the 86 has a vacuum line, shouldn't I disconnect this when setting the timing? The chiltons manual skips over 86 thanks.
  16. Hmm the chiltons manual says 25 degrees for an 86 turbo. Does that sound right? I believe my distributor has weights in it.
  17. Junk yard. I had to pull the intake to get mine out. Luckily I was pulling the motor.
  18. Gary, I've got that 3AT slushbox in my PT GL10. When I pull the PT 5pd from Brad, I'm going to have to check to see if the rear is the same or not or that is coming too.
  19. Does this help: http://dodgeneon.net/subaru/87EA82T%20VACUUM%20DIAGRAM.pdf
  20. Cool, I saw that beaut on there a couple days ago.
  21. Its on the top of the block and the rear, next to the turbo, in front of the bellhousing. Some have two wires and some one. 86 has two.
  22. and yes a vacuum leak could cause the same thing. Spray water mist from a squirt bottle or even carb cleaner to help find a vaccum leaks.
  23. Check the throttle cable mount (on the bellhousing) and the set screw where the throttle arm meets the throttle body.
  24. I have the same thing going on in my cylinder 1. But I have a bout 160psi on that cylinder so I'm leaning towards the injector. With your compession so low in #3, you may have a leaking headgastket, a bad valve, or bad rings. Do you have much blow by? Is there bubbles in the coolant? Is the oil milky? If you squirt some oil in cyl #3 and retest, does the compression go up?
