  2. I like to think of myself as being "well-rounded" 1993 EJ22 1988 EA82 1983 EA81
  3. My ignition is very hard to turn sometimes. On occasion, the key must be jostled just right to get it to turn. Once the car starts, the key comes right out, with the car running. Is this something that a locksmith can rebuild for me? I would hate to get a new JY ignition, because then I would have to change my door locks too. I'm not really interested in a new one, as I'm sure its $$$. Ideas?
  4. That reminds me of the time a friend of mine lost his brakes in a Bronco coming down the ski hill. Reverse and park saved his hide, and the car didn't need any transmission work until quite a few months later... lol.
  5. I'm not familiar with the 99, but I have had the 93 off - several times. Maybe its similiar. I only had two "large screws" to remove, and then 3 smaller screws around the speaker. The rest is clips that pry off. One of the large screws is under a small little patch thats clipped on and matches the trim. Careful not to bust the trim around the inside of the door handle, it also pops off, but should be removed prior to removing the door panel. Pop off the panel along both sides and the bottom, then lift it. Don't try to pop the top of the panel off along the rubber window trim. Its a piece of cake, just take your time and don't pull anything too hard. As far as the mirror, I wouldn't bother trying to fix it. Yeah, you might be able to, but I'd just replace it with a used one. If its painted, you might run into a little more trouble, but it shouldn't be that difficult. Jordan
  6. Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner. This is the sweet spot for mileage. Even my legacy wagon (which is a GAS HOG) can get into the thirties if I'm going 60-65. Jordan
  7. I got an alternator from Sucks also. I had to use it as a core when I got a new one three weeks later. The worst part is that it came with a "lifetime warranty" and Sucks refused to take it back, stating that it was in perfect condition. Strange... The alternator that replaced the 3 week old Sucks alternator has operated flawlessly for me for over two years now. Jordan Schucks Sucks Balls....
  8. Din Englisk ar inte nar dalig nar mitt svenska!!!
  9. That's actually great news. I have been wondering what that stupid thing is and does... I learn something new every day. Jordan
  10. I tried the search function too (I feel so grown up!) You must mean this picture:
  11. Wait, if you bypassed the charge indicator circuit, isn't the system constantly charging? Too much charging will kill your alternator and your battery if that's the case.
  12. I ran studded nokiian hakapalitas for a couple years, and they are friggin awesome..
  13. Who the hell would take an accord over a legacy??? Idiots! Gosh!
  14. Also, its an AT (boo!). When I am sitting at a stop light, and accelerate (straight) hard, I get a click, click, click, from the front left side of the car. at first I thought it sounded a lot like an axle. Jacked the car up, inspected, all was OK. What else is up there that could make that noise? The click increases in speed as the car does. It sounds like it clicks about once for every wheel rotation. Damned, I really think its an axle, but they look fine. Thoughts....
  15. I know this thread is kind of old, but do you have a more recent update for us?
  16. Probably a front window seal leak. Has the front winshield been replaced? The rubber gaskets probably don't last as long in the AZ heat. It might be worth a shot. You won't see it leaking, because the leak is really behind the dash if its coming from the window, and it will leak down behind the carpet and pool under the carpet.
  17. Well, first of all, unless it includes a head gasket, an axle and some seals shouldn't cost anywhere near 1700. Sounds like maybe you took your car to a stealership. There are people on this board that can probably help you with your car at a far better rate than you were quoted (I believe we have a member or two in Fairbanks). I suspect its only a matter of time before they chime in. But seiously, a new axle (which includes the boot they told you about) and gaskets for valve covers, front and main seals, oil pan seals, and all the usual subaru suspects shouldn't cost anywhere near 1700 bucks. Could you be more specific with the seals that need to be replaced? Maybe just type up their list of discrepencies and post it here so we know exactly what seals the stealership was talking about.
