HUGE improvement! That thing should run like a champ. I hacked op a 250k mile 2wd toy and under the hood looked kind of like what you did. I removed 2 arm loads of crap off that poor thing. header, open exhaust, intake manifold, new weber. still a bit tired, but 100% improvement. Im anxious to see the milage #'s. Keep us posted.

I think its good to realised that on roller bearings, there can be wear and you maynot feel it, or in the air on jack stands. up/down or free rolling. under cornering loads,is were you will (first) hear it in these cars. Also, tires can trick you aswell. If its hummmming predictably while cornering ,everytime, my moneys on the bearings. one thing that bank on is they will get worse as previously stated.. I would just run it.

Ok,I say that the majority rules, And definately will go with NUG's full version on this,as he is the preveous owner:cool: .This thing runs so good, that its actually changed my EA82T opinion.Ive really sworn by the bulletproof EA81's. I never hear a peep out of it either. Thanx Eric, and everyone for their input. p.s. black wire could actually be green(bad lighting) -

Steering Stablizer
mykingcrab replied to LiftedHatchSubie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I have a gl10 t-4wd wagon w/power everything. Will I need more parts than (rack, pump+brackets, lines)? I want to put p/s on the RX , both are 85's. Are the crossmembers different? or will I be changing that also? -
I have some harmonic sounding "noise" coming from the front drivers side, and it worsens when turning at speed. Thats how I determine that they are shot.

Thats funny. On a more serious note, im digging what you,and GD said about temp.he is right (in my scrambled translation)about it defeating the purpose as the entire area heats up. we need to keep the sensor cooler, and the boss hotter. we will get that bugger out. I do have a micro burnzomatic butane/o2 torch some were by the big door inside of my 2 car flight 800 debris field. (spring cleaning/garage sale needed) . -

O2 Sensor Seized Wont Unthread

This is some good stuff guys:grin: heres me in COBCOB's shop heres cobcob:popcorn: . or is it the otherway around?????????? -
Well it does move about 3/4 of a rotation, and I believe that the internally exposed threads are caked with 20+ years of cacah. I did use h heat gun (inspired by NUG's unappreciated tool thread). and got it to turn a bit. I was in the middle of doing the lift,so I took a break to change the coolant temp sensor/O2 sensor on the down pipe(stock+hollowed out)I got it to move 3/4 turn and kept threading it back in,then out, then in ,then out with no progression. The new bosch 02 sensor has antisieze on there for a reason. What would you do? (1) keep soaking it in pb blaster?(maybe drill a small hole into the threads from the top)? (2) Soak it ,crank on it till it snaps? (3) grind it off, drill it out tap/chase the threads? I was hessatant , although this was what I was tempted to do, after heating it didnt make a differance, but was affraid of getting fragments around the turbo. What do you guys think??????????????????/

It must be weird driving it around as a rear wheel drive???? What does it behave like. If your rear was welded, im sure that you know that it would be a different animal off road.I wonder if Ill ever t-case Roxy? I really dont crawl much. everything we do is easy, or I just get a bit of a run at it, then it spools the turbo and it launches right up the obstical. I usually take it easy.
-
Oh I forgot, what A HUGE difference this makes off road. snag one if you ever find one, I was lucky because they are factory in the RX's.
