I think its more a fitment issue than it is wiring... Yes, ER27 is the code for the H6 2.7L. If you look on the top of the block at the front, you should find ER27 written on it.
-
ER27 uses different injectors... at this date, there is no known direct swap in injectors that are larger. So, you're on your own with fabricating something.
-
It can be done, and yes, you can still bolt up a D/R tranny after you buy an adapter and lift it... but, I doubt the D/R tranny will hold up very long to the power.
-
Limited Slip Differential... I've never heard of XTs with rear LSDs. You could check by looking at the label on the back of your rear diff. It will say the ratio and have the three letters: LSD

H6 5spd d/r tranny swap
mikeshoup replied to skishop69's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
So this is sounding like you're swapping the XT6's 2.7L H6 into another car? Your best bet would be either an XT6 transmission or the RX transmission. Both are full time 4WD. If you grab the RX transmission, it has a dual range and a rear LSD. The RX has a gear ratio of 3.7. The XT6 doesn't have dual range or a rear LSD, but it has a gear ratio of 3.9. (we're speaking strictly 5 speeds) As for flywheel, use the XT6 flywheel. Its lighter. -
I'd like those wheels... however I'm betting shipping would be freaking expensive.

Don't give up on the XT! You just got it didn't you? Give it another month! Make sure when you replaced that lower coolant hose for the turbo that you put the heat shielding on it where the rubber hose passes underneath the turbo.

Well, perhaps you should have picked a different title for this thread... A centrifugal supercharger does not respond to low rpms.
-
Check to see how warm that 'warm' is. You may find its nothing out of the unordinary.
-
I can give a few reasons why you may want to use a turbo over a supercharger: Cheaper Lighter than most superchargers (except centrifugal) Centrifugal superchargers can have as much lag, if not more than a turbo. Cent Superchargers can make lotsa boost, but only in high rpms. For a safe amount of boost, you wouldn't see it come on until much later than a turbo. (This is due to the exponential growth of boost with a cent supercharger. Turbos have an exponential growth too, but you have a wastegate to divert the power driving it) Oh, and superchargers can still make use of intercoolers. Same principle, compressing air increases the air temp. Some supercharged engines do use intercoolers. All types of superchargers (turbos included, hey, they are superchargers), have their own uses. Sometimes it even boils down to personal preference.

390 millimeters = 15.3543307 inches Over a 0.35 inches is plenty of a difference for them to not mount correctly.

Definitely get OEM exhaust gaskets. There's a HUGE difference in quality. I was amazed when I compared the aftermarket gaskets I had sitting in my trunk to the OEM ones... Mucho Bettero. This is the OEM gaskets. If you know what the aftermarket gaskets look like, you can tell by the looks these are muco bettero

Sounds like the injector you have is possibly very clogged. Try putting another one in, or see if you can find a shop that'll clean it out for you. The fuel should come out of the injector in a nice spray.

What type of diff in auto RX?
mikeshoup replied to Phizinza's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Easiest way to do it, is to check the label on the rear diff. It will tell you what gear ratio it is, and if its an LSD or not. -

Yes, but she's 15, a little young for you. Even if its okay with you, it wouldn't be okay with anyone else. :-p -
Or just scrape the grease off of the label on the rear diff and look for the three letters: LSD

Slegacy, hey, if those modifications worked for you, then great. Sorry you're getting flamed for posting your experiences. But also don't nock the knowledge of these other forum members. Many know much more than you do and know what they're talking about. Although its sad to see such an immature bunch of men Also, don't bring your college into this argument. Just because you go to penn state, doesn't make you smarter than someone who goes to the many other public or private schools. And don't knock the finances of other board members or their decision to help pay for their childrens education. The fact you live at college on your own does not make you any better than someone who gets paid from their parents. (Take it from a fellow student going to an expensive public school that finances himself completely since day one at college) Why can't we all just, get along?

Me jealous. I would love a hatch.

Its cuz you have an XT6 Was it the driver's side or passengar's side you took off? The driver's side was much more difficult. Although, with the XT, there seemed to be plenty of clearance to remove everything and put everything back on. (At least the passengar side wasn't hard, Phil worked mostly on the driver's side )

Yay for new pictures of the XT
mikeshoup replied to Mr. Carb's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I'll take pictures of them when they arrive and as I install them. I won the auction like Tuesday I think, so it should be any day now. -

Yay for new pictures of the XT

I just scored a set of H4 lamps and lenses on eBay for $13 which includes shipping. Definitely cheap. -
Horsepower = (Torque * RPM) / 5252 So in essence, Torque is not HP, but HP is Torque. GD is mostly right, the only way to increase peak horsepower, is to gain more top-end torque. You will gain more low-end Horsepower with low-end increases in torque, you just don't affect the peak horsepower much.

I think you're supposed to imagine that the pictures are there.
