torxxx replied to torxxx's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
yes, but everyone keeps talking about how theres this turbo muffler that fit perfectly in the place of the stock muffler.. and I keep seein 2 inch as the size. -
Hey guys, anyone got the part ### for the turbo muffler that has the same inlet and outlet offset as the stock EA82 muffler? I wanna do the swap today, but since I will be 3 wheeling my car to do the swap, I want to make sure I get the right muffler..

I've got a few stars in my headlights, but never had one break. I took clear silicone and filled in the pinhole from one of the stars and it stopped it from blowing bulbs. I'd like to get ahold of light blue tinted covers.. That'd be sweeT!

pole:[who has power steering]?
torxxx replied to holylandsuba's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I dont have Power steering on my 86.. And I wouldnt put it on it unless I lifted and put rubber bigger then 27"s on it. I agree with snowman.. I love the road feel in the steering. Especially in the winter when I'm doing 20 over the posted speed limit, I can feel the side slip in the tires wayyyy better than my buddies 91 loyale with PS -
tycho, what up.. we are gonna have to meet up.. I need a soob buddy in town.. Pm me if you wanna rally the south cush ice track this sunday.

Has anyone used a tow bar on a Subaru??
torxxx replied to clantieri's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
why can't you run with 4 wheels on the ground? exactly what was said in the previous post.... the rest of the gears arent spinning in the tranny.. just the driveshaft, and stubshaft coming out of the back of the tranny.. tow it for a few hundy miles and tell me how hot its gonna get.. where the gear is, isnt high enough to spin oil up from the bottom of the tranny to the gear thats spinning.. this is why you disconnect the driveshaft if your going to tow with all 4 on the ground -
Finally, video's of stuff ive done

Running 15w40 in a ticking EA82 works damn good.. Mine started doing it last winter, 15-40'd it and it stopped ticking until I changed back to 5w30 this winter because its so cold. Sometimes I can rev then engine to about 4 grand and keep it there for about a min and the ticking clears up. Sometimes you can also get the ticking to stop by replacing the oil seals.. If not change the whole pump. 130k, check the timing belts while you have the covers off.

yeah you could gotten water in the cable.. I'd just replace the whole thing. if theres water in there, its going to rust and break sometime clutch cable is like 20 bucks takes 10 min to install
