What's the easiest way to break into a subie?
torxxx replied to abq_jim's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Same here.. If I ever catch anyone stealing from my car, they WON'T ever walk again. Oh yea and its self defense if you catch someone breaking into your car adn you kick the **** out of them -
heh, yea its cold. but compared to being on the coast where its humid, -30 F here is like 0 in anchorage
-
well just let me say.. dammit dammit dammit I'ma have to rob some banks now.. Roo - can u take pics of your running gear on the 8 inch lifted car for me? I'd like to see what all you had done

Anchorage has major gang problems There was a huge shootout in downtown anchorage in December The valley has a huge theft problem. I've watched probably 10 friends move to the valley and within 2 years end up in Jail from getting caught up in some dumb **** Fairbanks rarely has anything like that happen. There are NO gangs and the crime rate in Fairbanks if very low. I've been living here for 3 years and I never lock my car, theres always a key in the ignition. No problems FBKS is pretty damn modern. Movie Theater, Malls, Sams club, Fred Meyer Safe way, Home depot, Office Max, walmart (in progress) and just about every kind of fast food places as ANC. Just the thoughts from the interior.... I'm out

electronic lockers for the front possible?
-
hahahahah FBKS is way nicer then the valley northguy.. At least I think so.. mostly because we lack the amount of people that the Anchorage Area has. There is hardly any bad traffic up here.. Rush hour, it takes me maybe 3 or 4 minutes longer to get home from work than it does during offpeak (I have to drive right through downtown which is 10x more confusing than Anchorage's downtown) The lack of sun in the winter gets to people.. about November you start seeing peoples attitudes changing (SAD) Other then that, its nice as hell here
-
Junkie - Thanks for clarifying that with me.. So its not really possible with out serious $$$ to make it LSD So that brings on my next Q.. Lockers in the front? Would it work?

the trick to RainX working good is every 2 weeks, clean the glass with rubbing alcohol and then recoat the RainX after the alcohol dries up -
Tony - Just wondering, Noticed the Rear bumper doubles as an air tank.. I assume this is to blow up tires correcT? how many PSI will it hold.. and does it cost extra from the quote you gave me?
-
GD - thanks man for gettin back at me.. Sounds complicated... Since I'm in Alaska, it prolly wouldnt be economically do-able to ship out a tranny from here

I'll 2nd that on the RainX. We use it on our fishing boats because we can't have wipers in the front windows of the boat (due to severe water spray, and wipers don't really get salt water all the way off the windows) Gotta love the stuff -
sorry scooby, I'm hijackin this thread I see that some memebers have LSD in the front..... I realize my GL doesnt have LSD, but what do I have do to, to convert my front over to LSD? we had the discussion early this month on one of my threads about LSD in the back..... better for ice is what was said.. Is LSD in the front Effective? or should I just leave it Open diff

10w30 is good oil, but since its so warm where you live, I recomend using 15w40 high milage soobs like the thick stuff Or try the Napa High milage 10w30 prolly 1.30 a quart down there
-
that car is awesome.. I wish there were some Gen1 soobs in Alaska.. I only see EA81's running around.. Wait, and one like yours junkie, but it was trashed.. someones rally wagon with no care given What'd you pay for that?
-
fuel pump relay..... turbo'd? not sure on this, but check under the back drivers seat... or maybe do a search on it.. For some reason that sticks in my head.. maybe its some other brand of car
-
Do a search.... we talked about this a few weeks ago and someone gave a good definition about exhaust smoke color and what was wrong with the car.. and it had to do with the turbo'd soobs

torxxx replied to torxxx's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
still, nothing is working for it... I've bent an entire coat hanger into little pieces and everything keeps popping out.. I need a 3/8 inch block that has hang over edges to get it to work....... dammit -
